  1. I chose surgery because I was tired of merely existing and wanted to live, feel good about myself and be able to enjoy life with my three kids. I was on blood pressure meds and cholesterol was getting out of control. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I'm glad to be able to enjoy going to gym again even if it's only for 30 minutes, I can go to the park and play with my youngest child and not be out of breath. 2. I was discharged on full liquids which meant Protein shakes, cream Soups, yogurt (no fruit), SF Jello and SF pudding. Have you tried adding Protein powder to broth? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. Look at the bright side: you lost 30 lbs in three weeks! That is amazing. Our body needs time to adjust, I'm only 16days out and my body is starting to look funny too, losing from where I shouldn't and staying the same where i should be losing. I am grateful for this surgery, I do not have to take my blood pressure meds no more and my BP is normal. I know my clothes are not fitting the way they should be and just like you I don't have money to go and get me new clothes. What I do have on hand is a sewing machine to alter the pieces that are worth altering and going to the Goodwill store to get me some basic items with the money I am saving from my meds! Hang in there, look for a support group, find the positive in this experience. There is no turning back now so make the best of it. Good luck!
  4. My mother doesn't know about my surgery, all my family knows about it except her just because I want to avoid the usual negative criticism. I will eventually tell her but not yet. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. What kind of broth are you drinking? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. I was sleeved June 5th no gas pain and tolerable incision pain. The only thing that kept me up last night/this morning was my arms had this burning pain. Feeling much better. How are you all doing with your liquid intake ? I don't seem to have room in my new stomach! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. Thanks! I called my surgeon and the nurse advise me to put some ice packs for 20 minutes, they don't seem to help much. Did you do anything to help the pain?
  8. Hi I was sleeved 06-05, no gas pain, tolerable incision pain. Last night my forearms got really hot and they hurt, has any one else experienced this?
  9. Thank you ! My surgery got rescheduled from the 12th to today. I'm already at the hospital just waiting. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. That gives me peace of mind! I was blindsided by the change it was either tomorrow or wait another 6 weeks which was not the option I wanted. Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  11. It was around 2:30 when I received the call, the assistant said it should be fine because my surgery would be 24 hours later, but with all due respect she is not the surgeon and I called my doctor and no call back yet. I spoke to the anesthesiologist and he said he was concerned with what happens after midnight. So no liquids after midnight tonight.
  12. I received a call from my doctor's office telling me my date has changed and surgery is tomorrow at 3:00 pm. I am in shock, happy but in shock. I know my doctor told me to go on clear liquids 24 hours prior to surgery but since they changed the time I was having lunch when I received the call. I feel a knot in my stomach because I am worried that because I ate (chicken breast and cucumber salad) I will not be able to have surgery tomorrow. I don't know what to do now
