  1. You go girl. You look WONDERFUL! Congratualtions! Keep pimpin that sleeve.
  2. Pre and post op, I could eat anything on the list I was given. It listed sugar free Jell-O, with no restrictions on the flavor or color. All they cared about was that I ate foods low in carbs. I was eating sugar free cherry Jell-O and sugar free popsicles - red, orange, green, and purple. Be careful post-op though, my stomach didn't like either one of those after surgery - or sugar free Gatorade. My stomach does not like sugar alcohols or sucralose now. Crystal Light and splenda, I have no problems with.
  3. Thanks for the link. Sleeving solved the problem for me. I no longer feel an almost overwhelming hungar for carbs like rice, pasta and potatoes.
  4. Thanks for the update. It really helps me with my doubts that I made the right choice when I hear from long term sleevers. Keep pimpin that sleeve.
  5. You know you've been on low carbs too long when you finally eat some corn and it tates as good as eating candy!
  6. Good to hear. I'm glad everything is going well. Keep us updated.

  8. Thanks for your post Suzannesh. I backed out of my 1st attempt at surgery, but I made up my mind a month later. I really had to commit to whatever I needed to do to be successful. It wasn't easy, and I can't say that I didn't bend the rules a little, but everything has gone well since surgery.
  9. Yes it is possible, one guy in my area made headlines after losing over 200 lbs. http://www.kfdm.com/shared/news/top-stories/stories/kfdm_not-so-big-rich-drops-200-pounds-2544.shtml
  10. Don't let it get you down. We all have our bad days. Remember, tomorrow is a new chance to start over.
  11. Congrats on having such a good recovery. It only gets better.
  12. Glad to hear you did well. Hope the upcoming days see a slimmer and healthier/happier you.
  13. Applebtmgrl77 - I agree, after watching the movie "Super Size Me" I began to think the same way. There are 32 ingredients in a chicken McNugget. 32! They admitted that the more processed a food is, the lower the nutrition and it becomes less healthy to eat. I can only imagine what they do to the Big Macs to make'em taste so good. If you haven't heard about the movie, the star went on a 30 day diet, eating exclusively McDonalds' food for every meal. At the start, he went to 3 doctors for a baseline reading and their expectations of what would happen to him. They figured he'd gain weight and have higher cholesterol levels. But by the last week, they were telling him to stop eating fast food - it was destroying his body. Check out reviews, it was a great movie and will really open your eyes to the stuff they put into fast food. http://goo.gl/n8BPk
  14. Price, taste, personal preferences are all good reasons to use other Vitamins. I've never tried the Bariatric fusion chewables, but I've read enough posts to know that most chewable vitamins taste bad. I already had a big bottle of multivitamins before surgery, so I just bought some sub-lingual B12 complex and Calcium.
  15. Congrats, it always keeps me motivated when I see posts from successful long time sleevers.
  16. You guys got me again! I totally misinterpreted the question when I read the thread title. I thought this was a question for the guys only.
  17. caspinelli712, I think I am on the verge of not needing my CPAP anymore. I've tried sleeping without it and I am sleeping longer without waking up. I probably need to lose anther 50 lbs before I can wean myself off of it. My sleep specialist said that apnea is common to people with short necks - she's seen skinny grandmas and football quarter backs that need the CPAP machine. I didn't need the thing when I was at 275, hopefully when I get back down there, I won't need it anymore.
  18. I was told I could eat anything I could run through a blender. The T-bone steak was crunchy and ruined my blender, but a guy's gotta have his steak! Seriously though, I was eating boiled eggs (sometimes in egg salad as well), yogurt, baked potato (just a little), blendered chicken breast, re-fried Beans and salsa, and bananas.
  19. All I can give you is what happened in my situation. My friend asked me if I wanted to go out for one last big buffet blow out. I didn't go. Not because I wouldn't have loved to, but because I was tired of giving food so much power over my life. It's really a personal choice. Do you know that you can have one last feast and it won't trigger an eating binge and ruin your pre-op diet? I didn't want to take the chance.
  20. Mine was about the 3rd week. I didn't lose any more weight for about 5 days. Hit a 2nd wall on week 5, same thing. It takes me 4 - 6 days to start losing again. It helps speed up the process when I walk a little more than normal. You might want to consider your stall might be partially how much waste your body is holding onto. My bathroom visits are on an every other day basis. Sometimes I'll be over a pound lighter after a monster poop!
  21. Yep, I got them too. I'm not sure when they stopped, but I blamed it on the hiatal hernia my doc repaired.
  22. My 1st week post-op I was having a disturbing dream over and over. I was in a post-apocalyptic world, taking psych eval tests to determine if I would fit into a new group that was forming to rebuild society. And I had a very frustrating recurring dream about uploading video files to a website, but it was taking forever for the files to convert and upload! After thinking on it, I think it was my mind's way of dealing with the pain from surgery and the frustration of how long it was taking to recover.
  23. To be straight up with you, even at 7 weeks, I don't think I could take in 2000 calories - unless I ate really calorie dense food. I feel lucky that I really don't ever feel hungry or have cravings - as long as I stay away from things like rice, pasta, and peanut butter. Wishing you the best on your journey.
  24. Glad to hear you are in good spirits. It's nice when others notice. I get the occasional compliment at work and they encourage me when I'm seen getting my exercise, walking around the building. But it does kinda embarrass me, I'm not use to getting much attention and I prefer to stay invisible.
  25. Congrats, I'm glad things are going well post-op. Take it easy and get up and walk as soon as you can and as much as you can. You might not feel like walking, but it will ease any gas pains and help prevent any blood clots in you legs.
