  3. Had my second fill today Fluid removed to confirm no loss than returned and 4 more cc's added I misunderstood the amount that was added on my first fill I thought it had been 5cc's but the Doctor said that he put in 5 then drew off to 2, that now explains why I was feeling no restriction, the doctor said that my progress since surgery has been excellent a total of 41# since surgery and 71# since being approved. I have been in a kind of a stall for the last 2 weeks 220# but up one day down the next day. I hope this fill will let me get below 200 I now have 6cc in a 11cc band. 747 heavy

suggest liquid diet for about 4-5 days then soft food and chew, chew and then chew again go slow good luck if you get stuck it will be an eye opener and you will do everything that you can not to do it again! I still do blended cauliflower with slow cooked chicken. 747 heavy
  5. Had my band installed on April 1 and have been following 800-1000 cal and 100 g protein, got my first fill at standford using flourascope (x-ray) was able to see the position of my band and watch as my Dr added 5cc of saline. Was given a numbing shot for the port and then he gets a needle that is 5" long and inserts in the port and left it there while I walked over to the x-ray, a little unnerving but no pain what so ever. I am down 65# and have 32# to go. very little restriction noted after fill ,staying with liquids for 5 days.

    first fill three days ago

Had my first experience with getting stuck, took my grandson camping and my wife picked up some sandwiches from subway. I had been able to eat sourdough toast so, I thought egg white, ham, turkey with cheese on flatbread would be safe! WRONG!! Made the mistake of eating standing up it took me about 5 min to get UNSTUCK. Boy what a wake up call.

  9. I went for my first post op check up at standford BMI clinic, No problems all holes healing well, service port is just above navel. I am still on a full liqued diet of 800-1000 cal and 80-100 grams of Protein for 2 more weeks then one week of pureed foods then one week of soft foods and just as I get regular foods, they will do my first fill, so back on to full liqued for another week.I have lost almost 19 pounds since getting the band a little over a pound a day. BUT I am also going to the gym and doing stairclimber and tread mill at least 5 days a week I am averageing 10k aday in all. I have gone to 2 support groups and spoken to 3 other people that have the band most have had good results. I did come away with a new religion! "I must write everything in my tracker, Lose it as soon as I make it to eat" If not I will forget what I had five miniutes later. All and all I am very lucky to have the Standford BMI clinic within 35 miles of my home, they have a very good follow up and all fills are done under flouriscope (X ray). 747 Heavy

  12. I am 3 days post op and am having pain and much gas, I have 5 holes and my port was installed above my navel because of previous gall bladder surgery scars, just wondering am I expecting to much or is this normal? needing pain meds and heat compress to sleep.
  13. This is caused by the air that is pumped into you during surgery it is co2 and will be absorbed by your blood in about 3 to 4 days to speed up suggest marching in place while swinging your arms in great circles over your head, got rid of mine within 1 day!
  14. Well April fools day started at 3:30am at home, Stanford at 5:00 am in surgery at 7:15am out of surgery at 8:20 am back home at 3:30pm WOW!! I start my planning for the lap band in September at 289# have been fighting with my weight for years and just decided to do something for myself. I am 67 and flew Internationaly for the last 25 years of my career from buffett to another one 5000 miles away. got retired in 2009 and became a father/great grandfather a year later, am now raising a 4 year old great grandson. In order to keep up with him I had to do something. I chose the lap band because I get to keep all my parts. my pre op time from september was yo yo on my weight down 6# up 9# back and forth finally got to 274 3weeks before surgery and had my last pre op class at standford BMI clinic and decided to start my high/liquid diet then did 3 weeks of 850-1000 calorie 90-100 gram protein and 10-15miles a week at gym very surprising I was'nt hungery eating 6 meals and 48 oz of water. got down to 251.6 on day of surgery. All went well and main post op pain is in shoulders and collerbone area because of the air that they pump into you while doing the placement WALK WALK helps now to go from here
  15. I am scheduled for April Fools day for my procedure. I have started my pre op diet early and have droped 12 pounds in 4 days, I am looking for a good online tracking tool something simular to weight watchers online! Are there any GUYS out there?
