Thanks so much for the encouraging comments. Oddly enough I was extremly calm in the hospital and in the or. I have extreamly high blood pressure and it was 114/40. I was scared all this time and the one time I should of been I was fine. In the end I knew I was making the right decision. I had 1 minor complication during surgery but all went well.
Im excited about my new future. The life I will now be able to experience with my daughter and husband.
May I ask what the complication was?

Okay so I have been considering this for a few years' date=' but my HUGE question is this.... If I can't stick to a diet long term then how will I be able to stick to this? Any insight on how this helps in that area?[/quote']I am also pre band and I think we all have the same fear. I know I have true everything short of having my jaw wired shut! This is a last resort for me as I know it is for many others. We have or are all walking the same road. Some have a bumpier ride than others, but we all have the same goal- to be healthier and maybe live longer without all the excess weight weighing us down!
The only thing you can do it believe in yourself and not let the band fail you, or you fail the band! You will be a team working towards the same goal
I have faith you can do this!
Look! You have already made it past the first hurtle asking a question to a wonderfully supportive forum!

Thank you! True Results had to appeal on my behalf and they did that on Sept 24. I never heard anything so went for my second last weigh in on Oct 21 and when I got home and checked the mail there was the approval letter they sent on Oct 9. Why it took 12 days for me to receive it?!
I am just happy I did receive the letter and now I have the proof, and I want to frame that letter let me tell you!
I bugged the heck out of the front office people trying to get an official date set! I did it though! two weeks from tomorrow and I will be on "the other side!"

Got my pre-surgery packet in the mail today. A bunch of forms to sign regarding the surgery to send back in' date=' and my pre-op instructions. List of medications they ask not to take before, such as aspirin, diet meds, etc. (just generic info on meds for all patients, I'm not on diet meds or anything). I have a 2 day surgery bowel prep. Clear liquids only day 1 & 2, additionally on day 2 I have to drink 1 bottle of magnesium citrate. They included a prescription for Arixtra injections, and want me to take it to my local pharmacy to have it filled so that it will be ready to pick up after surgery. I guess the pharmacy has to order it. The injections are to keep blood clots from forming. They will set me up with a home health agency that will instruct me post op to provide education on how to administer injections.[/quote']Wow! Seems like a lot of stuff where are you located? Just wondering if I'm going to have to do all that pre and post op >.<

For those of you that have started liquids... What are you doing? I tried it yesterday and drank a ton of Water and 2 Protein shakes through out the day. The Protein Shakes were a little rough. Looking for other reccomendations and what Protein Shakes have some of you gone with? I bought Body Fortress off Amazon. It has decent reviews and the price was right. Per 'scoop' is 30 grams of Protein? Stupid question: can you have too much protein? I don't want it to make me gain weight.I like the premier/premium protein and the ultimate muscle protein by Beverly it tastes like cake batter! Win win?!
I could only get the UMP off amazon and its about $30 for about 29 scoops and has 21g of protein- I bought the Cookies and cream (tastes like the jack in the box Oreo shake without all the guilt!) and have tried both choc and vanilla both yummy also!
The premium/premier protein is good tried both choc and vanilla 25g of protein for about $20 at Walmart or winco(cheapest)
I think I was told to do between 70-80g of protein and I have gone up to 100g on those nothing's getting in my way days lol
I am allowed 2 shakes and one meal a day of 3-4oz of protein and a cup of fruits/veg.

Only a few people know about my surgery the others will think I'm having a hernia repaired but I'm not even saying that until I have my date set in stone! My kids know and my aunt and the doctors and a few friends.

I'm just not sure what all they will be doing tomorrow' date=' and the fact that I'm still smoking (won't smoke in the morning though). I really plan on quitting...SOON! I had read reviews that the Dr. will not do the surgery on people who still smoke! When I went in for my consult, they asked and I said I had quit 2 weeks prior (which was true at the time, but fell off the wagon). Funny though, when I had my consult with the dr, he didn't even mention smoking. I have everything lined up with time off work, etc., so I don't want any last minute suprises![/quote']First sorry for the two replies! Darn phone :/
When I had mine they make you blow into a machine to get the base reading then they have you do a couple jumping jacks and/or stretching (reach down towards toes) then they have you blow into the machine again. That was it for me. I don't know what others have had to do.

I am getting nervous. Hope the pulmonary testing goes ok tomorrow. If I clear that' date=' all is a go for Nov. 7th! I've already started a list of things I will want or need after I get home from surgery. Really anxious to start this journey to a healthier me! [/quote']You got this!
It's not that big of a deal - I had the pulmonary test on my first visit.
