  1. Thanks everyone. Lump is near my sternum and the liquid leaking is from my port area. Right now im feeling better. No pain just soreness. Have had a heating pad on all day. Its been tolerable, but going straight in to see my surgeon tomorrow. Thank you again for your comments.
  2. I got banded on Dec 5 and up til the 17th i was golden. No problems at all. My husband took is all to new york and I started on mushies. Ate slow, or thought i did. Walked everyday, climbed stairs and WOW!! Im in much more pain than right out of surgery. My inscision where the port is, is leaking clearish bloody fluid. I have a lump between my breast bone which is killing me ( my PA said that would happen when i started eating) so im back to liquids, and my entire torso is sore like never ever before. I need my husbands help to get up from bed or from a chair. Im hoping to see my surgeon tomorrow morning. But just wondering if ANY OF YOU had this problem. Please help!!
  3. Hello. I had my surgery on the 5th and experienced all the shoulder and gas pains. I didnt start taking anything til yesterday, but day of and couple days after, i just let my body get rid of the gas on its own. We are still newly banded so take it easy on yourself. Good luck!!

Tonite i ate chinese ( go figure) and my fortunate cookie said " you will encounter a permanent relationship like no other" weird, but im applying it to my new journey with the lap band :-)
  18. Hi!! My journey has just started also. Im 5'10 294lbs ( yup i said it). I also have to wait out the six months. I love this lap band forum. Everyone is so helpful and its nice to hear what they are going through to try and prepare myself for my own journey.
  19. Congrats!!! Im still at the beginning stages, doing my sleep test tonite, having to wait six months before my insurance can approve me. However, i know what you mean by not wanting to tell anyone. I had MENTIONED it to my sister in law just to get her reaction and she said that would be STRAIGHT OUT CHEATING!! Kind of felt discouraged after that. However, after my husband and I spoke about, i was fine again. I know i dont need anyones approval but God and my husbands, if they are both fine with it, the heck to everyone else and their opinions. Best of luck!!
  20. Really? The doctors office didnt mention that. They told me that my BMI of 40 is enough, that my insurance doesnt even need the sleep study. I guess il find out on the way. Thanks.
  21. I went to my first consulation today. The staff was excellent and explained to me that GEHA requires the following: 6 months of supervised visits to check for monthly eating habits. No diet, but dietician speaks to you and basically there to prep you for pre and post surgery eating habits. GEHA requires an "in hospital" procedure, where many procedures can take place in an office/ clinic setting. GEHA doesnt require a sleep study, but is covered if you want the study as an option. Study can be conducted at your home. Out of pocket after insurance, I will be paying less than 2k out of pocket. GEHA also requires for you to meet your deductible before anything. Some hospital fees may not be covered, however they told me i was still looking at less than 2k out of pocket. Hope this helps!
  22. Thanks for the info!!
