The products are by Nutritional Frontiers. It's a protein shake in the morning with a scoop of Pro Greens in the shake. The pills you take are called Liv Cleanse II. Then you follow a diet cutting out gluten, caffeine , bread, dairy, peanuts, alcohol and whole list of others. It's to detox the liver of and heavy chemical, metal, or toxins. I have been on a ton of meds since 2009 and I think I would really benefit from this. We will see.

Well I'm going for it. I will start my 10 day liver cleanse next Monday. We shall see how it goes. I'll be doing it with a friend through our chiropractors office. I'm hoping to rid my body of all the toxic medicine load my body has endured for years and hopefully will gain some good energy. Results to follow

Yesterday I made gluten free banana protein pancakes. They were delicious and high in protein. Used coconut flour, coconut milk, and coconut oil so I guess you would have to like coconut lol

Am looking into doing a 10 day liver detox and was wondering if anyone else has tried one since their surgery????

My daughter is celiac and I have 3 autoimmunes myself. It is amazing at the things that contain wheat you would never think. Like you can't lick envelopes and certain toothpastes. I buy the gluten free bisquick also and we like that. Walmart carries a ton more gluten free products. I will say for us it was trial and error with consistency and taste. Not everything you make tastes good. When baking you will have to try and see what tastes best to you. Gluten free is definitely a lot less moist usually. It took us years to find bread she would eat but schar makes a good bread but she always toasts it. As far as food you can make almost any meal gluten free pretty easily now a days. Feel free to ask any questions you need to.

That's funny about the food commercials. Right after surgery I was in bed for a good week and I swear the only commercials were for food. Olive Garden and dominos I remember the most. Was a killer but I can honestly say I laugh about it now.

I agree with everyone to call the doctor and ask. Always err on the side of caution and be safe not sorry. I to hated it I thought I would fall over if I didn't get something in me besides liquids. I was so weak I stayed in bed for a few days but it passed I promise. It seems like an eternity until you can eat but you really do need to heal first. Best of luck hang in there!

I definitely have had trouble with carrots. Got to chew them really good.

I get the lump to. I try to just take very small sips and swallow slowly.

I swear the ONLY commercials on tv are food! Lol

I don't think you sound weak or pathetic. It's hard! Very hard! I was banded 7 days ago and I feel like I'm starving my body. I have no strength or energy at all. I'm sick of all the clears as well. I also feel bloated after broth. I wish I could give you some great advice but this is new to me to. Just know your not alone and as hard as it seems I'm trying to take it day by day and just pray it will get a little easier as we go. Best of luck to you hang in there!!

Thank you all so much for the help. I did call the doctor and she said if it didn't improve I could come in. I was in the hospital for 4 days as it is. I have no veins left even if I needed hydration. I figured being only on clear liquids would be tough..

Has anyone had extreme fatigue and pain immediately post band placement? I'm am supposed to do clear liquids for 10 days post op. I just don't think the fatigue this bad should be normal. Pain I understand. Any advice???????

Was banded on Monday and just got discharged from the hospital today finally! As far as the band I didn't have any complications my lupus added some extra challenges. But all is well now thank goodness. I also have 5 incisions in my abdomen. I will be on clear liquids until my first post op appointment on July 10th. I guess they are all really different. Still in pain but very glad to be home and ready to get on with my new journey!!

Mine is tomorrow as well at 12:30 pm yuck! I'm excited and nervous but not as nervous as my family seems to be. I know they are concerned because of the lupus but my doctor is confident that it will go well. So I have to pray and believe that to be true. Day 5 done!!! Time for sleep then surgery!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like every surgeon has different pre op diets. I pray we all get through ours no matter which it is! Day 2

Pre op diet starts Wednesday ... Can't believe my surgery is in 1 week! Ahhhhhhh super excited!!
