lapband removed hoping to have bypass

Yeah Band to Bypass revision soon for me. I mean I don't know your medical history, but your age alone is no reason not to consider revision. I've seen older folks here on this forum than you getting wls for the first time and even revision. If you're starting to regain, definitely pursue revision.

Alcohol 3 weeks post sleeve op.

I knew this would be an interesting thread when I read the title. And yes, she asked fellow weight loss surgery peers for their opinions and she got mixed replies. That's the nature of forums like these. And also the same thing happens on here when people ask about pre-op diets. Everyone's doctor has a different idea of what is best. I'm not going to give my opinion. My suggestion is to follow your plan or whatever guidelines that your surgeon gave you. You trusted them enough to perform your weight loss surgery, so follow their guidelines. They know what's best for you.

    Kinda TMI question...

Suggestion - Pray it's late, lol. I mean just regular late, not a pregnancy scare. But all joking aside, I've always scheduled my surgeries around it. So it's never happened to me personally. I'm sure it happens a lot. Nurses are used to dealing with this. But I do know they won't let you use tampons during surgery, due to the risk of TSS and probably other infection risks. But when you're awake and ambulatory I think they'll let you use tampons. I think they provide some sort of pad for surgery, and they will change it as needed during surgery. It's nothing to worry about if it does actually happen on your surgery date. Oh and be thankful for the good pain meds you'll get after surgery that will help with the cramps!

    Bit the Bullet

Hi! As a former Lap Band patient, I feel you should count yourself blessed for passing up the opportunity to get a Lap Band. They're largely unsuccessful for most people and come with unexpected long term complications (not for everyone, but a lot) that have had many of us heading back into the OR for revision to other wls surgeries. Best wishes on an exciting and successful journey!

    Band to bypass reversion UK

Oh so not the traditional gastric bypass. Don't let @MiniGastricBypassDudesee you type that it's the same as Gastric Bypass, lol. He actually has a fantastic thread on here that you should read about the MGB. Thank you for the well wishes!

    Band to bypass reversion UK

No, I chose Lap Band on my own. I tried going the less invasive route. So I only have myself to blame, lol. I developed GERD and I'm now in the process of revising to Bypass as well. I never got to goal with the band and I'm hoping for better success with revision and improvement of GERD. Best wishes on your revision! Sent from my SM-G991U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

I'm not finished with weight loss yet, as I'm waiting for revision. So stay tuned... My photos aren't that great, especially my first pic. I forbade my photo to be taken so I literally have none of my fattest days and I still don't like taking photos. 😩 Sent from my SM-G991U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Did I Blow It?

Six days post op seems a bit early for salad and chicken. It's always best to follow our surgeons post op diet. They do have our best interest in mind and know better than we do about what is going on with our healing tummies. Most surgeons recommend Miralax or stool softeners in the days and weeks after surgery to get the bowels moving. If you have any doubt, contact your team.

    Pouch/Jejunum stretched - Barium Swallow

I'm sorry to read about your LPR diagnosis. It's a serious issue for sure. I'm not really sure how to reply to you about this, because I looked back at your previous posts and see that you had VSG and lost weight, then regained and then revised to RNY and then made a thread about how much fast food you could still eat and subsequent weight regain with RNY due to fast food choices. So obviously there was an issue two years ago (and probably prior to that) when you were still eating copious amounts of KFC etc... so I'm wondering if you reached out to your bariatric team when you realized how much you could eat. If not, why not? Perhaps they would've directed you to a therapist then. Please consider therapy. There's quite a bit of wls patients on this site that have sought therapy and are now thriving and overcame their food issues. Therapy is yet another tool just like weight loss surgery is that some patients need to be successful. Best wishes.

    Video of surgery?

If your surgery is at a teaching hospital, they probably video every surgery there. So ask.

    Video of surgery?

I didn't get video but I got some photos of my lap band surgery.
  24. Adding a serving of Benefiber to protein shakes helps some people feel fuller longer. The fiber is filling. I don't use protein powders after discovering Fairlife protein drinks. There's no comparison.
