  1. From reading it doesn't sound like anyone really drinks. Did anyone drink before? After? I like to drink a couple of drinks 3 or 4 times a week. Is this someting I need to give up?:confused2:

Well, as I write this I am buzzed off of one glass of wine. I do drink hard liquor, anything that you can think of. I am careful not to over extend on my calories and "sugar" during the day, so I can consume what ever I chose in the evening. I do believe it has slowed my weight loss, but I am losing at a good pace with relation to my fills.:cursing:

  2. I have not lost anything but it seems my clothing is looser. I confess that I have not been exercising like I should. I am so tired by the time I get home from work and running around with the kids, that I do not take the time for myself. I admire women who can fit it all in.

And for all the ladies that ocassionally have a cookie or two...Remember it's not the one or two that makes us fat, it's the whole sleeve! :)

Laura-Stop getting discouraged! You look wonderful and you can really see it in the pics. Especially in your face!

  3. Hi everyone,

On Monday, I went for a fill at my six weeks. I have been starving in bandster hell like everyone else. Only my docter said no fill. She really did not say why but thought that 21lbs was enough to lose in six weeks. Has anyone heard of this? I see plenty of people who have lost more weight than me at their six weeks and you all are getting your fills.

  4. I'm so glad or not so glad to hear that there are other people in band hell like me. I have not been eating too unhealthy, however on the weekends, I have been splurging on a Margarita or two!!! I have been sticking to mostly Protein and Lucky for me I love seafood, which is high protein low carb. I grill fish, shrimp with the shell, lobsters and I eat a small portion fo the fixns on the side. Only on the weekends, though.

Judy- Wow!!I have been admiring your sucess for awhile now.

Jennifur- You are doing great girl, stop worrying when we get our fills, we'll be fine.

TracyKS- Hurry back and tell us about you're fill.

Haydee- what a great idea clothes sharing.

Adorable -we were banded the same time and our pouns are coming off about the same, too.

  5. TracyTX, I can feel your happiness eminating through your email. Like you, I read all the time and most day's can't wait to get to the computer to read all the events of the Shrinking Violets. I don't post much because I'm terrible with the computer. You should see how long it takes me to correct all of the errors I type just to post. Judy-your Great! Lunasa take of yourself first! Please, you'll have so much more of yourself to give. Laura- I'm so happy to see you going thru so many different phases of your life, exciting ! Really just everyone, So motivating,TracyKS!

  6. I have the Vanguard 10 CC band and my surgeon told me that he is starting to use this one almost exclusively. I am one who went almost straight to mushies, post-surgery, which my surgeon's GB patients do, as well. I tell myself that my surgeon must know what he is doing -- the place where I was banded has been doing gastric bypasses for decades, literally, and is a Bariatric Center of Excellence, per BC / BS.

I'm not sure I buy the theory that the liquid diet is necessary for healing, and I wouldn't be surprised if that theory changed over the next few years. But either way -- follow your doctor's orders!!

    Syrah,

Im with you...I also had my surgery at a Bariatric Center of Excellence.

  7. There are alot of new theories out there reagarding the band by some very good and prominent doctors in the field. Not all Doc's are requiring liquid for long periods. 5 days post op,I was able to eat and so were alot of people in my support group. You ultimately need to follow your doctors orders and no one elses.

  8. Generally, I plan to snack healthfully. Right now I am only eating 2oz per meal. However, I find myself eating 1 oz the a little while later having another. That in my way keeps me eating or snacking all day. I love fruit so it is usually something like that. Especially, in order to feel normal when you have low blood sugar you need to snack. I agree with babygrl it's probably for those who cannot contain themselves.

  9. Teachlady -Thanks so much for telling me how to put the logo on. Sometimes the simplest things I can't figure out when it comes to computers. Also I love those charms. They're a little spendy , I know because I've priced them before. You are so worth it though !

Kat187-I have to admit my oldest son was giving me quite abit of help and we managed to get 6 roses bushes planted. I am sore today , using muscles I haven't used in a long time. Working outside can relieve alotof stress, I hope all is well with you and yours.

Angie38-Gosh , I'm sorry that happened to you. Nothing worse than being out of sorts in public. Lisa

  10. Hi everyone,

Nothing too exciting for me this weekend , I planted and worked on the weeds in my yard, and I tell you that was a work out for me . I have not lost weight since last monday and I'm starting to worry like some of the girls too. I'm hoping it's just my body adjusting to the initial weight loss.

I am only eating 2oz per meal and mostly fish and veg, fisha and fruit.Yesterday my DH bought me a new blender so I was able to make smoothies with bananas and strawberries. I used that as a meal replacemnt and it was quite filling.

I love reading everyones stories. I love this thread. I have to try and figure out how to put the shrinking violet on my signature.

    Bye Ladies

    Terri-Congrats!!!

    Laura-Nice house-So exciting!

Teach- Thank goodnes the bread did not act like a fur ball

Tracy-I have the same jeans I'm waiting to fit into.

  11. I hope I did not sound Snotty because I did not want to. I really am hoping for the best for you. I'm starving too but I keep drinking broth. My doctor put me on solids 5 days out, but only 2oz per meal. There are alot of theories out there and not everone stays liquid for 4 weeks. Take care, this too shall pass.

  12. Kity,

First of all , let me say, I love the qoute that you have. I wrote it down and have been repeating it to myself daily. I keep a gratitude journal and live by Simple Abundance her book but have never seen this quote. I have been fortunate enough not to experience the pain from eating too fast or too dry food yet. I'm frigthened because I am, like you, starving by the tme I eat and it takes so much concentration to slow down. Good luck!
