Help!

Just Stop! Really think about why you had the surgery. How much it costs and all that you put yourself through. Are you never going to have control over your weight? Do you always want it to control you? Go see someone and talk if you need to. Right now you 've the best weight loss tool to help and for some reason you want to sabatoge it. Be careful you may end up hurting yourself and your stomach. 396 power, find the power!
  2. Everything will be fine. Just think it 's going to be day one of a new you, a healthier you. A body pillow helps and wearing the support helped. Let the docs know to be prepared if you typically have nausea after surgery. Phenegran is the key. Good luck and enjoy the day and the journey!

    May 2007 Banders

Nae Nae, When is your surgery? My starting weight was 210lbs, so we're close to the same starting point. Good luck with figuring the ticker out it took me forever.
  4. Kacee, I'm the worst at nausea. I have never had a surgery where I did not wake up losing everthing for hours. I had the patch behind the ear preop and the nurses used many anti nausea meds but the only one that worked was phenegran. Don't mess with anything else tell them to have it standing by because if your like me , you'll need it. The only thing it knocks you out, so if you have visitors, forget about it. You'lll be sleeping like a baby.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

I was banded the day before yours and I also did not need any meds. 3 days out just a litttle soreness on my incisions, no deep down pain though. I am happy your back, get rest, your body needs it to heal. Take care.

Yes, but your body has no choice. With nothing solid going in nothing solid can come out. You know?
  8. I was banded on wed 4/25. For me the 2nd day was worse than the first day. I think the first day you have so many meds in your system and the anesthesia that your body is still adjusting. My pain is more of a soreness than actual pain. I did not take any meds in the hospital (one night stay). Since I've been home , I've used liquid tylenol. R you wearing your support band? That thing really helps if you keep it on. I hope you'll do better today and keep walking.
  9. Fish is on my mushy list, too! I'm sorry you had that experience.

    Anesthesia

Hi Heather,

I am the worst at anesthesia ,severe vommiting and nausea. I was banded two days ago and I expressed my concern to everyone. The anestheiologist gave me an anti nausea patch before putting me under . When I woke I was not vommiting but still sick as a dog. They gave me alot of meds to calm my stomach but nothing worked until phenegran. So if you get sick make sure they give phenegran 1st. That way you won't suffer for hours like I did. It is good advise to walk around get the gas out and to use the breathing thing, however it was impossible for me. Take care of nausea 1st.Good Luck and don't worry!

Also it is hard getting all of the drinks down. I think tomorrow will be a better start to the day. Not in the hospital.

    Today's the day!

Home from hospital today. Feel great no meds, just back pain, I think it is from the gas not passing. All the nurses were great keeping me from vomitting . I got real sick from the anesthesia. I am not hungry yet but am eating my two ounces over the 30 min period, it's hard. also hard getting down the protein drink . Milk tetc... thanks for the posts.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

My Surgery is today 4/25/07. we'll keep tally together! Gotta go! lisa, aka atcg1rl
  17. I'm going to be banded on 4/25. I am nervous and excited. The problem is that I do not recover well from anesthesia, at all. Alot of vomitting. Did anyone get sick like I know I will. I am so worried about slippage. I talked to the doctor about it, but she did not seem to be worried. She told me to get my my records from past sugeries so she could see what was used. When I talked to the nurse for preop, she said we would talk about what is to be used the day of, wont that be too late?:cry
  18. Hi, I have bc/bs and I was approved in about two weeks. I have a friend who also has but he's been trying to et approved for months. bc/bs had my medication history and I think that is why they were happy to get me approved. It all depends on the policy and exclusions, ask many questions before signing up. Good luck!

    Hi All...

I am scheduled on 4/25 and my doctor is not requiring a pre-op diet. I hear everyone speaking of it. My nutritionist said the only restriction is the day prior. I read that the reason is to shrink the liver, but I dont know. Any thoughts?
