  1. I'm spinning in my chair as I write this.
  2. August 6th date for me finally getting close
  3. I found an app for my iphone 'eat slower' it has a timer you can set and it rings when it's time to take another bite. I'm not banded yet but I am going to try it out, it was free what can it hurt.
  4. Aviva: I would be very interested in the booklet you got.
  5. I bought myself one and have been using it in the mornings to make protein shakes as a trial run for my post-op time.
  6. Thanks for your input, my list is getting longer.
  7. I know this has been asked before. I've looked and can't find a list. So of all of you post-op veterans can help me put my list together I would be forever grateful. What were some of the things you had on hand and what was something you wished you had? food items and other things (pillow, heating pad ect.) My date is coming up and I am trying to get organized. Thanks in advance.
  8. I don't have any pre-op diet, kinda happy about that, but I plan on doing something the week before surgery just to get in the groove of it.
  9. I just got the call, August 6th is the date for me! Got my other appointments the week before for pre-op and second meeting with the surgeon set also. I hate to wish summer away, especially since it is so short in northern MN, but I am so ready to do this. Anyone else have an August date yet?
  10. Now it is a waiting game. They said they will send the letter to my insurance today. I'm not a very patient person. Luckily I'm going on vacation for two weeks and hopefully won't think about it too much.
  11. I just found out that my insurance will not pay for seeing the diettitian. I saw her last week and am being charged $272.00 for the one visit. Called both insurance and clinic and neither one can help. Asked for the contracted rate from the clinic and they said they won't give that since insurance denied the claim. So frustrated I won't be seeing her anymore at that price. Insurance said they only cover if you are pregnant and have gestational diabetes. Well I sure am not going to get pregnant just to see the diettian. Any one have and suggestions?
  12. Good for you! How long did it take them to decide? I also have Anthem and wondering how long I will have to wait to know. I am very impatient......
  13. I'm hoping to join this group! Meet surgen next week then wait for insurance approval.
  14. Just saw a nutritionist yesterday she said her biggest concern was 60-80 grams of protein, 64 oz of fluid in take and 3 meals a day. I haven't been approved yet just gone through the assesments yesterday. She wants me to cut carbs now and watch/learn to count protein in my diet.
  15. Has anyone used a NutiBullet in the different stages of your weight loss journey? It looks like a good way to get the nutients needed. Looking for opinions worth the cost or not? Better then a blender? Juicier? I was thinking for the liquid and mushie stage or for making smoothies.
  16. A few years ago my husband and I got each others names on our ring finger, it was our 25th wedding anniversary. Our children couldn't believe that thier father would really get a tattoo, it was his idea, but they had no doubts that I would. His wedding ring usually covers my name but I put his name above my ring so I could see it all the time. We met when I was 14 and he was 18, It has been 33 years since we became a couple and I wouldn't change a thing. Trying to talk him into another one, maybe a family one.
  17. I'm scared of telling people that I am considering having WLS. Especially my family. I guess I am ashamed that I have let my self get so big and don't want to admit that to my kids, as if they haven't noticed, DUH! If I don't mention the fact that I am fat then it can't be true right?!?! Then if I do have it will everyone be watching and waiting for me to fail at this too?
  18. I just ordered the Kindle edition for $1.99. looking forward to reading this tonight
  19. I have a CPAP and LOVE it. I can't remember a time when I have slept so good. I wake up feeling like a human being. The only negative thing is we enjoy camping, in a tent, but we have found a way to use it in the woods when we are car camping. I can't sleep without my machine. It is the first thing I pack whenever we go stay somewhere.
