BMI 32 How much weight loss?

Hope you are feeling good. I'm now 2 weeks postop and feel really good. Getting hungrier, won't have my first fill until June 10th. Focusing on eating protein and veggies.
  2. I'm glad you posted the pic. It's a learning lesson for me as a new postop band patient. Glad you are feeling better! I hope the positive comments outweigh all the negative ones. Best wishes!
  3. Don't beat yourself up!! Give yourself time to heal. I was banded May 9th, at my follow up appointment I only had 3lb loss. I was so discouraged because I had not eaten for several days and the rest of the time I only had 500 calories a day. Well, I went back to work today, I was down 8lb! I couldn't believe it. I think there is a lot of swelling, adjusting and healing going on postop. Give yourself some time, be gentle with yourself. I have eaten some treats along the way, including today. While I have not gone over my calories for the day, I'm still trying to navigate these changes and these new rules but I'm still the same person with the same temptations. We are all a work in progress! Don't lose heart.
  4. I too get a headache suddenly if I eat too much. I'm only 11 days postop and just started on soft foods so I'm learning the cues my body gives when I'm full or too full. If I eat too quickly only to realize I'm too full I get a pain in my chest, left shoulder and a headache. All subside within 20-30 minutes. I'm getting better at measuring my food so this doesn't happen.
  5. My Dr said he put me on a high protein liquid diet in order to shrink my liver, which would allow him more room to work during surgery. I had BMI of 32.

BMI 32 How much weight loss?

Daisies, I was banded May 9th, I also had plication. At my one week postop I was down to 179, so 6 lb loss. My goal is 130 as well!

    Miserable inside.

I'm only 9 days postop so I don't have a lot of experience yet. But one thing my Dr told me preop that has stuck with me, he said "you will mourn food for about 6 weeks postop". My Dr has had Lap Band so he speaks from experience. My point is what you are feeling is very normal in this process. Best wishes.

    rash near incisions

I'm 9 days postop and my incision sites have Dermabond covering them which is peeling. One of my sites itches and I've been scratching it without realizing it. I notice its worse in the evenings but by morning the redness is gone and the itching is better. Hope this helps.
  9. I'm a week postop and I'm dealing with the same left shoulder pain. I have found no relief, very discouraged. I've tried everything. I completely understand your pain. I have my one week follow up tomorrow with my dr so I'm hoping he can tell me what to do to alleviate the pain, or tell me what to take for the pain since I've stopped my pain meds.
  10. I'm 6 days postop, I had lap band with plication. So I'm basically still on a full liquid diet. I know I have not been drinking enough water postop and therefore am very tired. So I'm sitting here sipping water and I'm feeling so full. Is there such a thing as drinking too much water at one sitting? And can water stretch anything? I don't want to hurt anything. I'm trying to be careful not to drink until 45 minutes after I have eaten. Any advice would be great.

    Need advice

I'm 6 days postop, I've only had minor soreness. I have felt great, went shopping afternoon of my surgery and the next 2 days. On day 3 I was most sore and tired. It wasn't until day 4 that I started experiencing pain in my left shoulder. The pain in my shoulder has been pretty intense at times, but expected.
  13. I'm having Iband on May 9th. Anyone else?

    Any May 9th Lap Band/Ibands?

The iband is where they put the band at the top but then fold over the stomach below and stitch it.

    Surgery on May 10th!

I have felt guilty and selfish. I have prayed and prayed asking The Lord if this was ok to have surgery. My husband supports me. And my parents and in-laws support me which gives me peace. I needed help and I feel like Lap Band is a tool to do that job. The Lord has worked out the finances, time off work and more so I'm trusting Him. My surgery is May 9.

My preop BMI is 32. I'm 5'3" 185. Realistically speaking how much weight will I lose? Anyone else start with BMI 32? How much have you lost?
