  1. Hi, today is day 3 post-op and I'm feeling fabulous! After a night a big farts LOL I feel super good today. Now I can start the next stage in my diet, with Protein Shakes, so my hubby got me this delicious peach mango muscle milk light, but I tried just a little bit and I feel I can drink anymore and I feel like bubbles out of my thought, what's that? I know I need to drink it, but it will take me hours!

  2. I have been passing some really good gas' date=' the

thanks to the Gas X extra strength dissolvable strips and MiraLax is really work, I have never been so happy about passing gas. LOL! I'm walking around a lot and sipping on Water. 2 days Post-Op what a relief.[/quote']

Awesome!!!!! I'm going to get the Miralax, I was trying to "pushing" and it helped me burping some how a lot! But I need to pass Gas, right now is only pushing to burp haha

  3. Question for those who have been through surgery - have you had any problems with Water retention? The two surgical procedures I had in the past' date=' I had huge swollen ankles and legs from all the fluids they put into you. I'm not sure if they give you IV fluids during this procedure? I hope not because that was just about the worst part of recovery for me!![/quote']

Not for me, I feel I go to the bathroom all the time, and I haven't had much to drink. I think that's my least concern right now.

  4. I posted my gas tip in the pre-op. But basically is walking walking, use the spirometer, take GasX and try to go to the bathroom "number 2" even if you don't feel for it. Just "pushing" made me start burping like crazy last night and I feel so much better this morning. Hang in there! I only have gas pain and is terrible but it will go away!

  5. Ok I have the weirdest tip post-op: I only have 4 little incisions, so my pain is totally from gas. I took 4 Gas-X, walk, walk some more, use the spirometer, etc and nothing. I'm 9 hrs after surgery and I felt sleep after taking my pain med (I was taking it every 4 hours because I was feeling really bad because the gas) so I woke up feeling that I needed to go to the bathroom number 2, but I was afraid that would hurt. Anyways, I pushed "that muscle" and it was not hurting, so I'm continue pushing And BAM! I started burping like crazy! I stayed 30 minutes like this and now my pain went down in half! (I couldn't go number 2 but definitely pushing helped a lot!)

Ps: sorry for the comment but I'm just excited to feel better! :D

  6. Congrats lolarose!!! Im 5 days post op. If u need to talk I'm here... we're ALLL HERE!

Thank you sweetie! My first 5 hours were miserable because I was so sleepy and I didn't know what was the pain from. Now I'm totally awake, I walked 15 minutes and I'm having a Popsicle for dinner and I feel so much better! My pain is only gas so I can not wait to start farting (Oh my what I just said haahhaha!)

  7. I can't believe it! It seems like yesterday when I took this decision. Thanks to everybody here for all the advises and for sharing your life changing stories! I can say that this forum encourage me and give me all the information that I need (and beyond!) to start my new life :)

Keep me in your prayers! My surgery is tomorrow at noon.

  8. An update: I just received a phone call from the doctor's office with the results of my EGD yesterday. I do have a hernia, so they are going to fix it on Friday with the band. The good thing is that my insurance will pay for that, so the whole procedure now is almost half the original price! :D

Any recommendation regarding the hernia? I'm just concerned to be more painful, etc.

  9. I'm going trough the same thing! I had my EGD today and they said to my husband (because I was asleep still haha) that I had a slightly hernia, no big deal. But I don't really know what that means! And he didn't ask about having it repair or anything. I will call TR tomorrow to find out, I have my surgery schedule for Friday and it's going to be impossible for me at this point change any budget regarding the surgery :(

    How your surgery went?

  10. I had really bad thoughts today. I went to my EGD and I thought that the procedure would be much easier. But I felt like going into surgery! And I freaked out for a little bit. They dressed you up, put an IV and take you to a kind a operating room for your exam. They put you to sleep and everything. But the people were so nice! I felt in good hands so I don't have any doubts everything will go awesome for me in Friday. Sometimes you have this idea that is more terrible that actually is (it happens to me before riding roller-coasters haha) so you forget to enjoy the opportunity.
