  1. Way to go my friend! I was banded the same day than you! And today I had my first "normal" day. 1 egg in me morning and for lunch And dinner a little bit of fried Beans with sour cream. It was delicious! I didn't eat much but I felt that it was enough to start feeling more energize. My main problem last week was that I was feeling too weak, but as soon as I started eating a little more, I'm feeling better. I'm 14 pounds down since the surgery but I'm assuming this will slowly go back to a normal and more stable weight lost. I'm really happy to hear you are doing great! And keep on going!

  2. I did hypnosis with a therapist twice and it helped only for a couple of months (I lost like 8 pounds, that was it). I was so desperate to loose weight that hypnosis was one of the last things I did before the band. It didn't work for me because I'm more physical that mentally, and when I felt physical hunger I ate, and I ate a lot! It's hard to mix things and let your mind overcome your body. I don't think it's totally a waste of money, but is not for everyone for sure.

  3. I was banded this past Monday the 13th. While I was given a booklet that told me WHAT to eat. It didn't tell me HOW MUCH to eat. I just don't know how much I should be eating. I had a bowl of blended hot and sour Soup tonight. In the plastic bowl that it comes in. I ate slowly but was able to eat the entire bowl. Any recommendations out there?

Less than 1 cup of food, 3 times a day. Good food I mean, because you can get really high-calorie foods with no nutritious value in 3 cups if food :P

  4. Question' date=' I have been advised by my nutritionist and surgical coordinator that I do not need to do a pre-op diet except the day prior to only have Clear Liquids. It seems as if everyone is on a pre-op liquid diet. Am I the only one that surgeon doesn't require that? And if that's the case, I'm wondering why?

I'll be checking with them Monday, but if anyone has insight on this, share :)[/quote']

I didn't have pre diet either because My BMI was 32 when I started the process. I guess is up to the doctor.

  5. Oh man...that sucks!! I thought about you a lot...and I'm so glad that they were able to fix everything Cat Whisperer!!

I'm feeling really weak...only Protein Shakes and Water will go down at this point. As it turns out my Aunt Flow came for a visit on day three post op and I feel like the band is so tight.

The best way to describe it would be like I just finished the biggest turkey dinner of all time...24 hours a day!! I know thing will get better but this is scary.I'm only taking in about 300 calories a day.

I'm still very excited and have a positive outlook...I'm just a little nervous.

Things will get better now...its getting there.

I'm so glad you're getting back to normal...I feel so bad that you had to come back in!! Hope you have a great rest of the weekend...think of next May long weekend and how we're going to feel and look!!

    I can't wait my friend!

Leannel!!! I know how you feel! I thought the same thing that it was too tight and the turkey feeling too! Lol but today is so much better, I had my first meal in 8 days, super mushy, and it gave a little indigestion but I was able to eat! (I think i was like 100 calories a day before because i just wanted to drink water, no even the shakes). Before I thought I was going to die because I wanted just water to avoid the "turkey feeling". I promise it will get better!

  6. Poor thing! I pray for a smooth recovery for now on, just take it easy, sip lots of Water and rest. I'm doing fabulous now! But first week was really hard! I wish I had more days off work and I was not able to eat a thing (so I lost 14 pounds). But today I eat half cup mushy meal and I feel my energy is getting back so it gets better! You have to have faith the see the light after the first week, but I promise is there! Take care sweetie!

  7. I was very lucky. I'm on day 4 with very little gas pain' date=' no incision pain. But I take my meds religiously and move and walk a lot. The only discomfort I have is not being able to sleep on my side yet. But it's getting better with each day. Now I find myself always worrying about eating properly. Wow, that's new![/quote']

I'm in day 8 and last nigh I was able to sleep on my side, both sides! It feels awesome and it was a very resting sleep :)

  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one' date=' I'm just 5 days post op and the though of food makes me ill. I've been walking around with nausea meds at all times. I can't even get down my shakes. I had to hold my nose and just swallow last night to get anything down then chase it with nausea meds.[/quote']

I feel exactly like that. Did you have your hernia repaired? I think is because of that. More stitches, more pain in that area. It's not just banded, it was a fixing surgery so the recovery should be a little longer. It's so hard for me the shakes! I know I need them but still feel that heaviness in my chest and its kinda painful and after that nauseous instantly. I hope it gets better :(

  9. Just be careful to chew the cheese as much as you can so it doesn't get stuck. Newbies like us need to be very careful. I read all about people's stuck episodes and it scares me to death!

I couldn't eat it! :( I'm just so nauseous every time I smell something is not a Soup, I tried one little spoon and I had to stand up to get my nauseous medicine. I shouldn't get that concern since I'm only 1 week prep op and tonight I can start my mushed foods, but it feels bad :( I prefer not to eat at this point, just Water.

  10. uhmmmm yummy...will definitely be trying that...thanks!

I texted my husband immediately after I saw the recipe so he got everything for me haha. I don't feel like eating at all but I need to make an effort and eat some at least. I'm going to disappear in a couple of months if I continue this way :(

  11. Hello ladies, yes...my hubby makes me walk around the neighborhood every night. It helps, but since I'm back to work and on my desk all day, I'm really unmotivated without energy. I feels so sloooooooooow. Hopefully I will get better during the weekend. Today was a better day though, the best on so far :)

  12. So today is my first week after op. So far, I'm feeling better, but first week was rough!

I still really nauseous (this is the worst part for me, more than the Gas pain), and I had a couple of episodes that I thought I was going to throw up, but it was a HUGE burp, and it hurt a little. Mostly now, I'm feeling really weak, and I don't want to eat anything, literally. I never thought I would say this but I'm not really interested in food at all now! (so weird). I tried to get a couple of shakes, but after a few sips I was so nauseous that It's super hard for me eat something more solid than Water. I'm having a greek yogurt now, and so far is working it's way, but I still feel super weak. I know it's because I haven't get any foods or Proteins, but I really feel kinda down right now and I don't want to eat :(

14 pounds down in a week.

any ideas to get some energy back? this is my problem now, I'm at work and it's so hard not to think I just want to sleep.
