    bubble guts and diareeah

I'm new to this too but I can share your pain with the diarrhea and liquid diet. I had two weeks of liquids before my surgery and a week of clear liquids post op. Now i'm on a week of full liquids and do mushy foods next week. I researched what I could possibly be pooping after almost a month of nothing. I'm not sure how accurate this is but it makes sense so I'll share it with you. Urine is the liquids that have been flushed from your bloodstream. Any extra liquid stays in the colon. We're on liquid diets thats explains the watery stool. In addition, anything you drink that is not Water has particulates that are broken down in the colon. That's why there's always a little something besides water. Also, your body dumps waste (dead cells, etc) in your colon, too. Lastly, the water is a brownish/green/yellow because your liver is releasing bile making it that color. Hope that makes you feel a little better. Congrats on your band! We're band buddies, I was banded April 11.

    Pre-op and nervous

I was banded on April 11. I was a self pay too. The nice thing about that is, you get rushed through the process but the bad thing about that is, you get rushed through the process. I have a panic disorder so I understand the nerves thing really well. I told my anesthesiologist and he gave my a shot that put me in lala land well before my surgery. I will tell you that the surgery wasn't that big of a deal. It's painful but it's not excruciating. You'll be able to walk around almost as soon as you get out of surgery. Most of the pain is over in the first week. I'm 9 days out and I'm sore but it's not stopping me from working or taking care of my kids. The pre op diet is truly the worst part, so if you can make it through that you'll be golden. Good Luck and congratulations!!!

    shocked at the changes

You are giving me hope. My shoe size went from a size 10 to an 11. A size 11 foot is a nightmare because it is impossible to get shoes. I hope when I lose weight I will be back in my tens.

    post-op day one

Walk, walk walk. I had my surgery just over a week ago and it was more painful than I expected. I took the advice I got after my c-sections which is very simple - keep moving. I stopped the pain killers after day two and just kept waddling around the house and sitting up in a chair. The worst part for me is sleeping because I'm a belly sleeper but after day 4 could sleep on my side. Good Luck. I hope your pain gets better soon.
  5. I'm 9 days post op and I'm still on liquids. My doc doesn't start the mushy foods until next week. Maybe just take it easy on your tummy and keep your foods super mushy.
  6. I'm 9 days post op and my stomach is growling so loud, I scared my cat. I'm afraid to take anything for the runs because I keep hearing that constipation is a big issue. It's also usually my issue, but since my surgery, I have been running to the bathroom. I have quite a ways to go before I can eat solid food. I have been taking chewable fiber tablets but they are not doing anything. Does this eventually stop?
