I had my surgery yesterday. I'm not really hurting, but I have some discomfort in my shoulder. I'm also having a little difficulty breathing. I've been getting up and walking around as much as I can. I think it's just gas causing the discomfort. I haven't been hungry, but my mouth is so dry, so I'm drink a lot of Water.< /p>

Thanks for the ideas. I'm feeling better, just tired.

I had surgery around 1 pm today. I actually wasn't nervous about the surgery. When I woke up, I was in a lot of pain in my chest and shoulder. They gave me some morphine then later some liquid hydrocodone which helped. I got home a couple hours ago and went to sleep. My dog woke me up to take her out. Now if we could just time warp and have the weight already off, but I'm actually looking forward to the journey.

I have mine scheduled for 10:30 in the morning. I'm excited to get this journey going, but I'm nervous and can't fall asleep.

Good luck! My doctor wants me to stay on shakes for 1 week post-op. What about you?
I actually get to eat some food. I usually have a scrambled egg and dry toast for meal 1, shake for meal 2, 4-6 oz lean meat or fish with serving of green veggies for meal 3, and shake for meal 4. Most of the time, I can't drink the shake for meal 4. I can also supplement with carrots or celery. What I hate are the chewable vitamins. The Multi-Vitamin is tolerable, but the only Calcium with Vitamin D I could find tastes like Gummy candy and is sooooooo sweet. Then I have to take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. How are you doing with the shakes?

They never really went into detail on the purpose of the diet. I thought it was just to help start the weight loss process' date=' and to get me prepared to a new way of eating. My pre-op visit is tomorrow, I've actually been doing pretty well besides today and the salad yesterday, and I've been working out everyday. My surgery is not scheduled until Tuesday. So, I still have time to get back on the horse and finish strong. Wish me luck, and thank for the replies.[/quote']I was told that the reason for the pre-op diet was to ensure that your liver was not too large to get around with the surgery. If the liver is too large, the surgeon may have to do a larger incision instead of doing the surgery laproscopically.
