  1. Hey everyone....is anyone else having scar tissue pain? I'm almost 6 months out and i've been having a burning/pulling pain every now and then around my larger incision....wondering if anyone else has been having this? What did your doc do for it. Mine wants me to to Physical Therapy (basically $145.00 to have a massage which i'm not sure I want to do, and was hoping i could do something at home)

  2. Well thank you!! Yes I am a man 39 years old. Lol i started my journey two weeks before my surgery I was 420 at surgery I was 408. So since surgery I'm down 108. My surgery was June 24th. I will say I was always working out even before my surgery. I swim even then 1 mile in less than 40 minutes. I also did weight training with bike and elliptical work!!! I will share supplements if you need me to.

Can you please give a run down of everything you are taking Vitamin and supplement wise?

  3. June 6th here. I've lost 36 since surgery & I appear to be in a stall as well. So frustrating. I work out at least 5 days a week. 30 mins on elliptical or treadmill. If doing treadmill I do a 1 minute sprint every 4 minutes & then 30 minutes of strength training. Arms' date=' abs, legs. I've been stuck at 194 for about 2 weeks & my BMI says I need to get down to 125. Everyone keeps telling me not to stress out because in building muscle but I really don't want to be a 194 lb muscle momma. I eat 800 - 1,000 calories a day. Guess I just need to be patient because I believe I'm doing everything right...[/quote']

I emailed my dietitian....she recommended I drink more fluids with an increase of 10 to 20 oz a day from my normal since when ur qorking out ur muscles need the Fluid to repair. She also suggested I increase my carb intake for 5 days by 1/2 if possible...and then go back down to my normal daily allowance. She said this would jump start me again...and it worked in 1 week. Maybe you can try either or both of those. In the 3 weeks ibwas the same weight I did notice inches lost. Just not lbs....and right now I think we are all more focused on lbs. She told me to try and remember that and stick to it, weight loss isnt a down hill race, its stair steps and there will be times when u arent losing.

  4. Hey just checking in on everyone....June 12th here...I am down 37.50 lbs....only 62.50 lbs to go!!! I just broke a 3 week plateu...which was stressing me out. I didn't have this surgery to only lose 30 lbs is what I kept telling myself! How is everyone doing? What are we eating, what is working and not working? Are you working out...if yes what are you doing?

  5. This is going to be TMI for some people....but as a woman who has suffered from PCOS and infertility and no natural monthly cycles....I would like to report that I had a cycle start 5 days after my surgery (surgery date june 12) and then I started another cycle today....I cant believe it is finally coming from what seems to be on a normal schedule. I pray that this happens every month so when goal is reached babies can be made without intervention from a fertility specialist :-)

  6. Yes!! I'm 4 weeks out and have the new pain. It's like it's a pulling feeling.

Im happy to see ur response and a few others as well. Are u working out, more then walking? I assume when doc releases me this coming monday he will still have restrictions on what kind of work outs I can do. I dont lift weights or anything but I do like yoga, pilaties and taebo...I was hoping the pain would go away soon so I could start tighting everything up....dont want to be a flab monster if I can help it lol

  7. Hey ladies and gents...im 5 almost 6 weeks out. ..I have a question....none of my incisions hurt except the one they pulled the "trash stomach" out of. Is this just me? Its not always sore...but when I workout (still just walking on treadmill until im released) or if i clean the house our do a lityle more...I even notice I get a little puffy in my belly area too when its sore. Am I the only one? What do u do to help? Ive been icing it when it flares up.

  8. Going back to work in the AM...after 4 weeks off...lots of pre food prep for the week...and getting my timmers set to remind me of when to take my Vitamins. I think im ready. Had my 4 week check up today. I am down 20 lbs. Which is great! I put on a pair of shorts today that I bought LAST summer and couldnt fit...still had tags...put them on today and bam...booty looking good (hubby's words lol) im so happy that as of Thursday I can start swallowing more vitamins instead of chewing them. Fluid input is still something I'm very mindful of since I was dehydrated and had to get fluids twice :-( and food is going in good. My only recommendations are to measure measure measure. Dont eyeball it...dont guess or eat until u are full. You cant keep track of ur Proteins that way. I know most of us in here are women and idk about anyone else but I want to keep my hair :-). Sorry for the book im just so excited to get back to work...and in a routine again. Happy losing to all...and to all a good night!

  9. For those of u having trouble getting down the Protein Shakes because they are too sweet...ive done some trial and error recipes and figured out the one I like best is- 8 ounces skim milk, vanilla Protein Powder of ur choice 1 serving/scoop and 4 ounces of a greek yogurt of ur choice in flavor...I like strawberry with mine the best. It taste like a muted strawberry milkshake. Ive even dropped it all into the blender with a handful of ice. Super yummy and it packs a good punch of protein!

  10. I didn't get steri strips on my incisions. My were superglued shut. Crazy? I was sleeved on the 20th and the glue is peeling off now. I had the sleeve' date=' gallbladder removed, and hiatal hernia fixed. I was sore when I moved for week, then I was so happy it went away. Then what happened, I had a coughing attack on Saturday and the pain is back. I seemed to have pulled the muscle or something.

Now that I am done whining, I love my sleeve!![/quote']

Sorry for the returning pain...I also had the glue....sleeved on the 12th. glue took about 2 weeks give or take a few days

  11. Hey sleeved on june 12th....went in to er the 20th middle of night to get fluids....went for 2 week check up yesterday....wounds healing however hes sending me for more fluids today. Im drinking as much as I can force...anyone else having this issue? Everything I drink taste nasry...even water! My taste buds hate me :-( I'm not making my 70 to 90 of Protein a day but im close to 70. The shakes are so sweet its boarder line disgusting. Im not and never have been a sweets person. Im sad...discouraged and worried. I want to cry...but I don't want my family to think ive given up already.

  12. 6 Days Post-Op.......question? ? Hello sleeveres' date=' I am now 6 days poat op and 19lbs down. Are you all still having really bad gas in ur chest? I have to admit I haven't walked much due to the nausea issues that I'm having.

Does anyone have any advice for me? Please help[/quote']

Yes ive had this too....honestly burping didnt help me....I had try and lay from side to side and get the gas to move around to be expelled that way. I was advised NOT to us gasX (sent my hubby to buy the strips for tongue) it was to be natural process of coming out. Can I ask what nausea meds ur on? My doc has me on the Scapolomin patch behind my ear, zolfarn tabs that go under ur tongue and then I have some liquid stuff...I forget the name of it. My advice would be to insist on something new for ur nausea...and then walk around ur living room....its honestly the only thing that helped me. Hope some of that helps. What meds r u currently on for acid and heart burn?

  13. Hi all! Just had my surgery done on June 10th & I need some support from others who are also going through this with me. I'm 6 days post-op - pain is subsiding but I am still getting this wierd wave of pain right below my rib cage every once in awhile but all day long. Anyone had this &/or know when/if it will subside soon?

I have this when I drink to much in a gulp (while trying to take my tiny pain pills) standing up while I take them helps....but then also the walking. I dont walk far....but just up and down the driveway a few time. When u lay down try to prop urself up on which ever side hurts. Its more then likely gas pains. If these things dont help id call ur doc. My surgery was 6/12 so we are close in date range....u can message me personally if you want someone more on a personal level im here :-)

  14. I wonder why you can't have gas-x! Dr told me take it the strips kinds that dissolve on your tongue.. I'm really worried about not getting enough liquids in. I'm supposed to start Protein shakes today but still struggling even getting 8oz of Water and should be at 24oz :(. It will get better I hope loll praying for all of us!!!

Angie im not sure....he did mention it messes with the natual enzymes in ur new little tummy and we dont want to do o that. Ive noticed the Protein Shakes seem to be easier to sip....and go down slower because of the consistency I guess. Good luck let me know how the first on goes down

  15. Awe same here and I am more uncomfortable then I have ever been :( now will b a week before the pain lets up with cramps added in lol... Funny how so many go through same exact thing same time... I am having a lot of pain/discomfort on my left side but the back area' date=' I can't explain it good but under armpit I dk what is causing it but I cannot get comfy no matter how I lay.. Gonna try n lay back down!!! Hope you all start feeling s'more comfortable will check back in cpl hours again loll[/quote']

Under my left shoulder blade is killing me like that....I think its still trapped gas! But was told no gasX....so I just try to walk and it seems to help. Sorry ur in pain :-(

  16. Lol. Yeah. I feel tired after I eat. It's getting better every day. I think it's because it takes me so darn long to eat anything! :)

Im sure...I was told to make sure I sit up an the kitchen table for the full 30 minutes....however I am full with food left over at 30 minutes. Then I need a nap after that lol everything is exhausting right now....plus its 2am and mother nature just decided to show up :-(
