who supports right to choose
Wow, good thing that abortion is a women's health issue and not a religious or moral one. Would you like to know what happens in a country where they are illegal?? A 1996 study among 1,300 Egyptian women by the Cairo Demographic Centre found that one-third had attempted to terminate a pregnancy. Other studies suggest that about one-third of abortions are carried out without medical supervision, with women trying traditional remedies or overdoses of aspirin or quinine, at a risk to their own lives. For those that have been too tight....
I heard something about pineapple juice, never tried it but apparently that gets a lot of things unstuck. You may want to try that if you have nothing else to go on. Good luck on the de-fill. I was in the same place 2 days ago, i was really tight for 5 days and i couldnt take it anymore, now i love this new fill level (got a .5cc and then had to have removed .25 , i guess i was closer to my sweet spot than i had thought)

I'm 35 today and down 50 pounds!
Thats awesome, i had my band 6 months (-2 days) before my birthday (which is coming up in a week) and i'm down 50 also. My goal is to be at 100lbs down by 1 year! Now more than ever i think its possible because i lost all that weight at not even an optimal fill level. Hopefully now that i'm in my sweet spot ( i think anyways, if not, i'm very close) itll come off a little easier.

Thanks, I just woke up at 5am today, spent about 9 hours on a train and paid about 200$ to go to tlbc for about 2 minutes. I was in toronto about an hour :S I think I'll try him next time. I think it wouldve worked today, all i needed was a defill.

Can Anyone who'se had an unfill or fill from an ottawa doctor or nurse PLEASE say something about how it was!!! I need an unfill, and its cheaper to pay 75$ than to go to toronto again. Or if not, IS ANYONE GOING TO TORONTO SOON???

Yay~ I Just Got Approved
I'd check with my doc. It's each clinics differing opinion on whats right. For me it was NO sugar for 10 days (only sugar free yogurt and cottage cheese), others have Protein drinks for 2 weeks..etc. Check with your clinic theyll tell you whats right

After Fill- liquids barely going down
This was my 4th fill, so i should know this stuff by now, i think i'm posting just to hear what i want to hear...but here goes. This is pretty much going like it has for the other fills, no worries right after, i could get my liquids down. Did 24 hours of liquids after the fill. THEN the day after that i could eat very little food...great. But then the day AFTER that....it got really tight, I'm PB'ing and sliming on everything solid (this happened before, i thought i would need an emergency unfill, but then went on liquids again for 24 hours and after i was good) Now i've had the same thing again, except now, even after all this, i'm still putting myself on liquids and i'm STILL sliming. So i got the fill wednesday afternoon, its now monday afternoon. How much longer should i wait to schedule a small defill.

protein powders
I understand the physiology behind it and obviously it should work...But do you users of protein shakes find that it affects your apetite?

Over 300 pounds
oh my....300+ and wants you to get RNY??? Never heard such a thing. I think it would be a MINORITY of ppl here who were below 300 pounds when they got a band.

TLBC Bandsters!
1. I am also a very satisfied TLBC client. 2. I'm not sure, but pretty certain that SWLC has free fills policy too, and they're highly regarded by their patients 3. I don't know what's wrong with Jen...but...wow 4. Isabella....you look amazing!

who supports right to choose
The funniest thing about this thread is the hypocrisy. There are documented cases of pro-lifer's getting abortions. People who like you will undoubtly say, they werent TRUE pro-lifers. Well...apparently they were, until the situation came to them. Read this: "The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion" - When the Anti-Choice Choose

Did your new way of life affect your family's eating habits?
I know you've said she has a lot of issues with food, so i won't even pretend to know how to be a parent in this situation. But, Her situation is the same as yours, if you needed the band to lose weight and get healthier, maybe she does too. Although her head should be clear and she should maybe solve those issues before starting on that journey, have you thought about that?

i wondering if this only works for the first month then...it's just counting calories
Wintersunshine, i appreciate what you are trying to say, but if you read the forums you would already have the answers to your question. Your cynicism is a not founded. In response to you, in my personal experience with the band, it works! I havent lost weight in my life, i've steadily gained weight since i've been 10. Since i've been on my band journey i've lost about 40 lbs, I've been at a standstill lately because my fill level was inadequate, but i've since had a fill, and what a difference!!! If you understand the physiological working of the band you wouldn't be so quick to call it a modern snake oil. TRUST ME! I was a BIG eater, now i eat maybe 30% of what i ate before. It's not like a diet, when you starve yourself, you are genuinely not hungry even when in your head you think you need more food, your body tells you you're food (not the case when you're not banded, even if you're full, your body won't tell you---i'm talking about obese people here)

Thinking about the toronto cosmetic clinic?
fun fact, type in: liposuction death toronto First sponsored link=TCC....ironic isnt it.

Thinking about the toronto cosmetic clinic?
I haven't seen posts about toronto cosmetic clinic in a while other than in the past week, ppl have been talking about consults there and such, so i think they should know about this.

Thinking about the toronto cosmetic clinic?
You may want to think again CTV.ca | Woman's death after liposuction raises concerns A woman died at the toronto cosmetic clinic undergoing a liposuction. This may not have anything to do with the clinic or Dr. Tin...but its a red flag for me. IMO, i wouldnt get it done there.

Dr. Lance Tin in Mississauga
When you have a clinic like this, half of it is business, the other half medicine, Tin's clinic realllllly doesnt know how to get themselves in the ring with the others. Although i think its mostly a plastic surgery place, they might get more business if they would change a few things.

I'm Back and I'm Banded
Yeah, to the original post, tomato soup is a FULL liquid, everybody's post-op diet is different time-wise, but i'm pretty sure most ppl follow similar stages. And you should see if you're supposed to be on CLEAR liquids for a few days.

Ok will I ever NOT be hungry!!!
All i can say is everybody is different...It's not relative to your size either. I was in the waiting room once, and a man who must've been 400lbs had 2ccs in a 9cc band was full, couldnt drink his water, whereas i am now at 7.5...still not at optimal restriction. ALSO, wait a few weeks, sometimes the effect is delayed

question???
Tylenol should be ok, if you get liquid form thats probly best. Also, make sure you dont take advil. Thats a NSAID, which isnt recommended.
