  1. You guys are doing great! My date was the 8th and it was 110 by then also.. I've been quite discouraged myself because I've been at a stall for a few months and it's been driving me nuts! But I'm not going to let it get me down. I have abt 50 - 60 lbs to go to get to my absolute goal and I want to do that by July or August because I want to do skin surgery by next winter! We can do it guys!

  2. Well Monday I am scheduled for a post op EDG to see why I've been vomiting so much over the past week. I'll be 5wks post. I lost 30lbs the first 3 weeks exactly but the last two weeks I actually gained a couple pounds back the fourth week but this past week lost like one pound. I guess I'm at a stale time now too. I've had so much trouble keeping everything down including Water. He said something about stretching my esophagus, tube to pouch, not sure exactly which, but is concerned about my vomiting so much. He is still pushing the Proteins.< /p>

  3. I spent yesterday morning in the ER cause of severe pain in my left central area right below the fold and incisional area. I had a CT and nothing.. Dr thinks just bruising of internal stomach muscles. It hurts so bad.. Yes like my insides are being tore apart..I had surgery on the 8th of April. I'm tired of being in so much pain and hate pain meds.

  4. I've been freaking out since surgery (April 8th). This pain has been worried about it and have expressed it a couple times with dr's and nurses.. Oh it's gas try Miralax or suppositories after asking if I had bowel movements.. Or nurse who also had surgery weeks earlier said it'll go away eventually.. Guarantee you'll be dancing soon.. I've had Constipation this week too.. I'm worried about a hernia already.. Anyone hear of this so soon? We've got a wknd church group trip and I'm worried about ruining myself worse or the trip for kids. Uggh

  5. I had surgery 3 weeks ago today.. Lost abt 30lbs so far. But I'm still in so much pain on my left central area.. I've been trying to get through it but it's just so painful. It feels like a pulled muscle. Hurts so bad to get up and down from bed or couch, esp up in my suv too.. We're taking kids church group to kidfest and dollywood this wknd and I'm worrying I can't keep up. They said two wks ago at my one post visit it would go away eventually. Just to keep moving, drink Water, and get my Protein in. Should I be worried abt this pain still?

  6. How can anyone say it was the easiest surgery they've been through? I've never had any other surgeries before in my life. It has been very painful for me. Especially on the left central side of my belly area. It feels like I'm ripping my insides all to pieces when I get up and down, off couch or bed. Mine was lapro, my husband had the open open abt 15yrs ago and thinks I need to stop complaining, get up and move, and move on, etc. He of course says I'll never feel what he did but no one knows how you feel. Even my dr thinks it's gas.. My nurse, who went through it 8wks ago herself, says it's not gas but guaranteed I'll be dancing in another week or so, ok we'll see...

  7. I've been home since Thursday and still feel like crap. I can hardly stand up straight. My staples are itching bad. I have constant gas rumbling but won't come out. I have a spot in between external incisions that is excruciating when I get up and down. But since this whole process started since pre-op to today I've lost 22lbs!

  8. Okay so I had surgery this past Monday the 8th I had to stay an extra night cause my wbc count was too low.. I finally came home yesterday afternoon feeling like I wish I was still in the hospital. I have been in so much pain on my right side below everything.. Also my left side in between staples. It's excruciating to get up and down anytime now. I've been able to keep liquids down.. I've also had some cottage cheese and yogurt. Love my blue bunny sugar free fudgesicles. But with all the pain and I haven't had a bm since being home and my temp was 99.9 today, I then called my dr. He said it was all gas.. To get Miralax and an enema. Really?!

But you know since day one of liquid diet til today I've lost 20lbs already! Boom! Gotta through the pain and gas! It can be done!

  9. I had my appointment with ther surgeon today. I will be having my gall bladder removed at the same time.

I have not received the official call from the hospital yet but the surgeon said I am the first on the schedule...so should be 8am. Which means arrive at 6ish? I guess that is better than a late time with nothing by mouth!

Good news...no bowel cleanse! He said he has not found it to make a difference. Also... I wont need a catheter unless I have trouble urinating after surgery. Yay!

    I'm so nervous and emotional!

I'm totally nervous myself too.. Just had to do a liquid diet for one week.. Stop my nsaids meds.. I don't tolerate pain well either.. I have PCOS and dysmenorrhea and when I do have a period I'm down.. Those cramps about kill me.. Hurt all the way down my legs..

I'm unfortunately not going to have my husband there for me.. My husband lives and works in NC, we live in WV still currently and he took time off for spring break already.. My mom will stay here with kids. My stepdad will take me to hospital which is an hour away too and be with me a while Monday but will come home afterwards.. Then come back and get me on Wednesday if all goes well I get out then.

I've never had surgery.. I've never been under for anything except sinus cleaning abt 10yra ago so I'm terrified..

I have a 7 yr old son and 13 yr old daughter that I don't think understand it all yet.. I'm debating on going to church this morning cause I just wanna veg I guess but I should go.. I've not told hardly anyone and I guess I need prayers bad for my fears especially! Will post a pic later today for my pre-op shot.

  12. I'm quite nervous, excited, and scared. Surgery is scheduled for Monday morning. I've been on liquids since last Monday. Lost 4lbs so far. I've been on YouTube and blogs too much cause it's making me feel like that's still not enough to lose this week. But 2 more days to go.

  13. I've been on YouTube all morning watching slide shows of people who've had surgeries and I'm worried, nervous, excited.. I have pre-op testing next week the week after is spring break for my family and the very Monday after is my surgery. I'm gonna have a great trip travelling and being on a liquid diet uggh.. My husband can't take off anymore than he's got approved for spring break to be with me for surgery. I hate to do it alone but you gotta do what ya gotta do I guess.

  16. Have you already have a doctor when you move to Fayetteville I have live in Fayetteville all of my life it is not a bad place to live. It would be nice to know someone from Fayetteville to chat with good lucky with your surgery and with your move to NC.

No I don't have a Dr down there yet. The kids and I will not be moving down there officially until they are finished with school after May. I have a 13yr old daughter and 7yr old son. We have never lived in NC before. I was born in Tampa lived there many years until my mother remarried and then we moved to WV her home town near Beckley, WV..I moved back to Tampa after h.s. and my young adult yrs..my husband and I have lived in WV, Ohio, Springfield, MO, Virginia, Dalton, GA, El Paso, TX (Ft Bliss).

I have already done all my pre-op stuff (EDG, EKG, PFT, Psych Eval, Blood work) He has been having me to take Vit D for a few wks now.

It seems like 2013 is becoming a major transformation year for me though. We have ChampVA insurance and have never had a problem with them. But now that my husband is working again the kids and I get Dental and Vision ins too so I've been taking care of pretty much everything. I updated my glasses (bifocals uggh), I've been getting teeth taken care of and have been told I need braces soon, I also need CT surgery on right hand. It's all happening so much and so fast!
