    Refried Beans...why not??

Do youreally think 45lbs is a slow loss... wow you have high expectations... I think you are doing great. I did not have a lot of discussions with my doctor after the surgery about what to eat. I ate what I was compy with. If the beans are not giving you gas or problems I say why not. But I am a rebel... so take what you will from me.
  4. I think that we all have our goal, wants and needs... to each it is a different road. I have never had an issue with the bad... I feel so sorry for you. Have you tried going on a liquid diet for a bit to calm your stomic? I know that when I fly my band feels like I have had a fill. (I am very sensitive to changs in the environment) One of the reasons why I have only had two fills. So good luck and I am sorry that you are having issues.
  5. well it seems as if many of you are in the same boat as me... it is good to know that I am not alone. It is funny how our reflection in the mirror is never quite what we want and yet to others its is a huge accomplishment. That is why I love this forum. When ever I begin to stumble and question there are those of you who know exactly what to say...I am blessed to be part of this group...
  6. So June 13th I will have been banded for three years. I have lost a 100lbs give or take and had no real issues or complications and still I wonder if I have worked hard enough. I could still stand to loose another 50 or so pounds... but I don't realy want to. I like being able to eat and wear clothes that I can find at target or ann taylor. I not a size twelve and yet my size 14/16s suit me fine. Maybe it is because I married a man who love a full sized woman and raves that I am perfect the way I am. Maybe its because in the african american culture my size is just right with my ample thighs and behind. So I have re designed my goals where once I wanted to be a with in my weight range, now I want to be in my comphort zone. I am 38, larger than some smaller than others, and I think I am doing fine. So why do I feel like I should want to be smaller... Any thoughts?
  7. 4.5 years out... now I have someone to look up too... I am fortunate in some respects I dont have much hanging skin... a little lipo would do me... maybe a thigh lift... but hubby says no way jose'!
  8. Thank You for the complement! Yes I can remember when I was worried about how much weight I should loose and how fast it should come off. I can remember working out like a feind... That stress however has been long gone. And may I say Looser28 you have a georgous face... no wonder you hubby lose you..who wouldn't? PaulaX yeah I think I will hover around this weight... for the longest I never thought I would ever see it. I am glad that you all see me a success. I needed to hear that.
  9. Thanks... I do feel great... I guess its when I look at all the expence I paid for getting it done, well I just dont want to say I quit because it was easy to get this far and now I don't want to work for the rest. My doctor for weightloss was in MX and my regular doctor says that I am fine. No more Knee problems and the asthma is gone... so I guess I am okay...
  10. I think I uderstand what you are saying that this should be for someone who needs it drastically. But what if that person sees it differently and has another experience than you. I have been filled twice and rarely pb... although I did more the first year... but I know I have a friend who just could not take off the 45lbs and she was 5'2 on her it looked more like my 100lbs.. her knees hurt and her back was a constant reminder of her pain. Sometime 45lbs is not a vanity thing but a nessity and even if it were for vanity... I say what ever makes you happy.
  11. why do you have to be single... I wanna go!
  12. never had swelling... least not that I could tell... maybe I was to fat to notice...lol well good luck... tell us what the baby looks like  grin

Am I Doomed To Fail w. Band?

I can't help with the smoking thing... however I hit my two year banding on the 13th of this month. I have lost 100 + lbs and it has been a great journey. I have only had two fills and prob could be at goal had I choosen to get more... but I wanted to work on part of this myself. I wanted to feel like I could enjoy my life and not feel as if I was dieting. I excercise and def. don't eat like I used to. But I never had a pre op diet. I ate a huge steak meal before I went into surgery the next day. Then "Jamie" my band Helped with the rest. I lost weight quickly at first. Then I did my best to forget it. Just remind myself I did not get to 300 lbs in a year so I was not going to loose the weight in a year and enjoy life. I fianlly have broken the 200 mark. It has taken two years.... but they have gone quickly and I have loved living in the mean time. I have another 30 more to go but why would I stop living to help my body do something quicker that it is doing naturally by itself. I know I will get to goal... So will you!
  23. Hey I love the fact that I can look this small... who would have thunk it.
