Thanks guys! I do struggle with depression and was just having a really bad day at work and have been very down lately. Everyone was going out to lunch, but I just had a fill the other day so I'm still doing liquids. I did a little food last night and it got stuck. So, I was just having this feeling of I would usually go with everyone and eat. Eat to comfort myself. But I physically can't. I sort of feel like I'm mourning the loss of food. I never know if I eat something if it's going to get stuck or not. I am very frustrated with being able to eat one thing one day and not the next. Food is scary now instead of comforting. I need to find a new comfort. I just haven't found anything yet.

So, when I was stressed, I would usually eat my feelings. I literally can't do that anymore. I don't know what to do with my feelings:(

I had my 3rd fill today two weeks apart. 4th one will be in a month. Just wondering if this is common?

Surgeon had a terrible time trying to find my port! Got poked at least 4 times! Last two times were even under X-ray! He had a hard time last time as well, but got it in with only one actual poke.
He said he would write down how he found it and we would do it under X-ray next time and it wouldn't be as bad. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Right there with you! Thanks for letting me know it's not just me!

Thanks! And good luck to you! So far I am loving my new best friend even though we are still learning how to get along!

Nope! You just haven't seen them on me
for a while! And the last time you saw them I had to jump off the roof to get in them! Not this time! Slid right on. I am down 25.4 lbs since starting my 2 week liquid diet on 10/15/13. I am finally starting to notice it in my clothes. Guess they were all a little tighter than I thought????

My problem is that I've gotten stuck or almost stuck eating things I was eating before my fill. Only in the morning and evening. lunch goes down fine, which has been a lean cuisine pizza and it's way more bread and seems like something I would get stuck on more than the things I've actually gotten stuck on.
This ring thing is interesting to me. So, they are saying how a ring or Bracelet is fitting you could determine how your band is fitting?! Has anyone noticed that this worked? May have to get me some right hand bling while I wait for a man to get me some left hand bling!

Just got my first fill the other day. I have heard people say that they are tighter in the morning. Is it possible that I'm also tighter in the evening? lunch is the only thing going completely smooth.

Oops! Didn't realize I did! Wondered why no one had answered;)

Depends on your job. I wasn't able to lift over 20 lbs for two weeks and that is one of my job requirements. So I took two weeks. If I worked a desk job, I probably could have went back sooner.

I now understand what it is:( and it's not fun. Tell me it will be over soon!

They did not tell me not to eat.

Ok, he had a little trouble getting the needle into the port but he only had to poke once. You were right, it really wasn't bad at all! I now have 3.5 ml in my 14 ml band. I go back in two weeks and then two weeks again. He just said to eat softer foods for a couple of days. I did feel hot and nauseous afterwards but I also hadn't eaten since Breakfast. Ate a lean cuisine pizza and feel better now

I'm here for my fill and there are 10 other people here! Usually there is one. I hope this doesn't take forever as I'm already nervous!

The list of nutritionists my doctor gave me are mostly located inside of hy-vee. Does anyone have any experience with this? It just seems weird to me!

I am so relieved to know I'm not the only one who thinks the Premier vanilla flavor is nah-stay!! lol.
Yeah, I mixed it with fruit in my nutri bullet just to get rid of it!
-
My favorites are Premier Protein for pre made drinks and syntha 6 for powder. I also cannot stomach the premier vanilla! Only chocolate!

I'm thinking that all my swelling is gone as I'm not getting full anymore and I'm hungry again after 2-3 hours. Tuesday I will be 5 weeks post op. First fill is tomorrow and I think I need it!

I told everyone at work the truth. I spend 40 hours a week with them which is much more than I spend with my family! Everyone was very supportive. They even sent me flowers while I was out! Don't know of I could have made it through the liquid diet etc without telling them! That two weeks they couldn't get mad if I was grumpy cuz it was from not eating! Lol. But, like others have said, legally you do not have to tell them why!

Didn't get stuck! Haven't actually gotten stuck yet (had surgery oct 29th). I keep waiting for it to happen, as I know it will! I ate a little of everything and stopped when I felt full. One plate vs two or three is fine by me!
Cocktail forks and chopsticks!

Had surgery on October 29th and I finally feel like I'm starting to get a hang of this! I purchased some cocktail forks from bed bath and beyond for $2 each. Also, eating with chopsticks definitely helps! I was eating too fast and too big of bites and getting stuck/throwing up way too often. These have been helping a lot. Also, if I feel anything weird at all I take a break from eating. Hope these tips can help someone else! I am down 38 lbs!
