  1. Debbie, I was never not going to go to a doctor. I was just trying to figure out who to go to. I didn't want to waste time and money going somewhere that couldn't help me. I was scared and shocked that my surgeon had just disappeared. I was on this site while I was also trying to find somewhere to go. I am so glad there were people here who would respond to me while I was waiting to get help.

  2. He said really anything. Getting something stuck, vomiting too many times etc. I was also reading about it and it said NSAIDs put you at a greater risk for esophagitis. Well, I've been taking aleve every day for foot pain.

New fun thing this morning! Pooped my pants while driving to work! Ugh. Guessing it's from everything my GI track has been through lately or I really did pick up a bug. Idk, but I'm home on the couch and probably will stay here today!

  3. Had surgery about six months ago. For the past three I've had off and on pain in my lower right abdomen. Sort of on my pelvic bone. Felt like a pulled muscle to me, so I wasn't too concerned. Went to my regular doctor yesterday as the pain has gotten pretty bad. She said she could feel a soft squishy mass. She was concerned with a hernia. Had a CT scan yesterday. Nothing. Just got done with an ultrasound. Don't have results back, but the techs didn't seem like they saw anything. Has anyone heard anything about this having to do with lap band or anything?

  4. That is a very interesting take on it blade! I know I've heard people say that even once they've lost the weight they still feel fat. Even in the way they move and carry themselves. And even though this is something we want for ourselves it's still a change. A good one, but a change nonetheless. Adjusting to change can be difficult, so maybe when we start to succeed we get scared of change and self sabotage? Sorry, now I'm rambling!

  5. Thank you everyone! I will definitely check that book out! Recycled and Cheryl, I feel that if it was that easy to just not do it then I wouldn't be here in the first place. I was hoping if I could get more info on what it is and why I do it then maybe I could fix it. Being like, oh ok, I'm not gonna do that anymore is not gonna work for me! Glad it has for you guys though!

  6. I do know that I have a problem with self sabotaging and I am sure I am not the only one. Has anyone read any good books on this? Most recently, I got to 49.8 lbs lost. I have wanted to get to 50 so badly, but as soon as the scale got so close I started eating things I know I shouldn't. Or even larger portions of healthy foods. I'm sure it's something mental and would just like to understand it better and also figure out how to not do it.

  7. Ask for a sample first. I have many friends that sell it and it's an amazing product BUT - some WLS people can't physically tolerate them. Also, some of the flavors are really gross like their greenberry and chocolate, LOL. But IF you can tolerate it and like the taste, yes it's worth the money, I'd say.

What makes wls patients unable to tolerate it?

  8. Of course a friend of mine has decided to become a beach body coach and I'm her new project! Just wondering if anyone has tried these and if they are good? I currently drink Premier Protein already made shakes in the morning as I don't get up early enough to make Breakfast. I am 4 months post lap band. I like the price and the taste of premier, but she is constantly pressuring me! It's just so much money so I was looking for an unbiased opinion!

  9. Thanks for asking secret! It has been better but not completely. I successfully ate a few meals after doing liquids for 24 hours. Last night I spit up sushi, which I've never done before. It was always a "safe" food for me. I felt mostly due to the chopsticks! And then at work they ordered pizza for us. I have successfully eaten this in the past as well. I chewed my 20 times and waited a minute in between each bite. It's very frustrating:( getting ready to eat enchiladas. Hope it goes well! At this point, I don't think I'll be getting the fill I'm scheduled for in march!

  10. Cup and a half of what? Who were you directing this to? If you mean cup and a half of food the answer is yes as long as the person is not very active. But then again it depends on what kind of food they're eating?

Sorry! I was referring to anyone in general. I was watching those videos for the first time and he said 1/2 c food 3 times a day or less. I was just wondering if this is enough food to make it through your day with. And he says not to eat Breakfast if you're not hungry, but I thought that was the most important meal? Different because of lap band? Just trying to get it all figured out!
