  1. Thanks. Yesterday and today I absolutely "normal". Big relief!
  2. Three and a half weeks plug-in, and I'm feeling good. However, I am always nauseous - even the thought of water can make me feel sick. Anyone else in this position??
  3. You took the words right out of my mouth! If a friend asked me my opinion, I would recommend the sleeve over the band BUT do research and talk to your surgeon. You'll figure out what is best for you.

    Why am I SO tired?!

I feel your pain! I went back to work yesterday (only 5 hours) and I had to call out today. I slept from 7:30-3:00!!! I couldn't believe how hard it hit me. Good luck to you!
  5. I'm doing really well. Tomorrow marks two weeks from surgery and I have been cleared for soft foods. However, I am experiencing diarrhea often. It's usually after protein shakes but not always always. I'm not taking in sugar and I'm getting my liquids in. Anyone else have this problem??
  6. I did mine at the same time. My band slipped back in June and I waited over 2 months for my insurance to cover the revision surgery. Once they approved, I scheduled my surgery. Had it on the 11th with an overnight stay in the hospital. I am so glad it is all said and done!
  7. Well, we always say every doctor is different; every body is too!

    A straw?

The only thing i've ever heard about a straw is that you can take in too much air. I never used a straw after my lap band but I have with my sleeve - no troubles either time!
  9. You aren't alone (obviously)! I am 10 days post-op; I'm supposed to move to soft foods 10-14 days and I've had some soft foods. I ate a few bites of refried beans and I had some Mac n cheese too. I'm not a Dr but just go slow and don't beat yourself up!
  10. Wow! I've never been under 200 as an adult so I really have no idea what weight my body will be "right" as. I can't imagine being under size 10! Exciting to think about
  11. 6ft tall female with long torso and long legs. I hope for a 10 but really have no clue. I'm size 16/18 now. Love to hear from other tall women!
  12. I don't think anyone had encouraged anyone to move faster. Nearly all the posts have said to rely on Dr's advice. My post just shared what I did; I definitely would never give advice in place of Dr
  13. I am on Day 7 and supposed to be on "full liquids" for 10-14 days. However, yesterday I had some refried beans and today I had a runny scrambled egg. I needed something extra. I am definitely not going overboard. I know myself. I see my surgeon Monday and I'll tell him and see what he says. Maybe I can move onto soft foods sooner.

Do I Rub You The Wrong Way?

I feel like this thread should have it's own forum. "Adults Only" maybe? ;-)

    7 months and disappointed

My surgery was 7 months ago, and I have lost 27 pounds. I am having an "is that all?" pity party. Yes, I am thrilled with the loss and maintenance but I feel like it should be more. I keep asking myself what I'm doing wrong. I don't exercise regularly and I don't limit myself to a 1/2 cup of food per meal. I eat until I feel satisfied. Lately, I've been very stressed and most food has been troublesome. I see my surgeon Tuesday so I will discuss everything with him then. Just need to vent my frustrations!

    7 months and disappointed

Thanks everyone! Apparently I was disappointed for no reason. I weighed in at surgeon's office today 4 pounds lighter than a month ago, and he thinks I'm in the green zone! I wasn't sure because the last two weeks have been very stressful (plus PMS) so eating was difficult and I craved crap food. He thinks I was outskirts of green/red. Decided to stay where I am (fill-wise) and go back in a month. Thanks for the encouragement!
  18. This is the point ... I have no clue as to what you're trying to say. I can't help someone, or commiserate, if I don't understand what one is saying (writing).

    A Yay and a Nay

Let's start with the "yay!": I weighed in this morning at 248.2!!! I have been dying to get under 250 for about 4 months so that was so exciting! Now, to the nay : Will I ever learn not to eat in the morning, especially gulping it down???! Not feeling well this morning due to migraine issues (I'm blaming it on the tropical mess), I drove through Starbucks to get a tea. Then, I see that they have new menu items, one being a whole wheat spinach deliciousness. I order it which probably would have been fine if I ate normally but, no, I inhaled it (probably since I hadn't eaten much in the last 24 hours due to said migraines). I get to work and spend 15 minutes regurgitating (lovely since the whole office can hear) and get sent home. Now, I'm lying in bed nursing my tea and kicking myself for doing this again. I know it's a learning process but I'm usually a quick study and I am frustrated with myself! Oh well, I am going to just bask in being under 250 pounds!
