  1. Hey all- I don't really post much, but I do read them all. I am happy with my one year- down almost 70lbs, not bad at all. I just started excercising 2 months ago, I didn't even walk a block before now and now I'm working out with a trainer at least 4 times a week. I didn't love it at first, but I really really do now. If I don't go a day I miss it!! That is sooooo not me either, I am a dedicated couch potato. My weightloss is slow right now, but I could use a fill. I am going to wait until summer is closer to being over, I like having the ability to drink a few cocktails. I keep telling myself it's the muscle vs. fat thing. (Or maybe the extra summer "drinks") I would post a picture, but I have no "before" pics, I was always the one behind the camera.

  2. Karla, sound like your DH is very insecure, probably a little jealous. I think the problem lies with him and he will try whatever to put it on you. We do need to put ourselves first, even before our kids and spouses. If mama aint happy, no one's happy... isn't that a saying?

  3. I am so glad to hear it's not just me- I did use some tea I got from the chiropractor called chiro-clenz and I went twice the morning after I drank it. It is caffein free and you drink it before bed... I guess I'll just do that a couple times a week. Steph, you look amazing! I have lost 50some lbs and I am happy with that, but I have not exercised 1 minute and I need to badly. I have just had such bad back problems and that has gotten better with the weightloss so now that it is getting nice I need to start with walking. My butt just prefers to be planted somewhere and I can't get the signal from my brain to my butt to get up.

  4. wombat- I have back and neck problems too. I thought it would get better as I lost weight, and I think it has somewhat, but it still hurts. I use it as my reason for not exercising, but I know it would benifit from it. I just started something called Rolfing. I have only been twice, but I can tell it is going to change me. My neck is already sooo much better and she wont actually "fix" that area until session 7, (you go to 10 sessions in all). Dr OZ talked about it on Oprah, and I know a gal that has gone to 7 sessions, she is in her 50's and says it has made her feel 20 again. Just thought I'd share:)

  5. Karla, have you tried the caramel ones? I have a whole box of those and they just don't "do it" for me like they do a bunch of you guys. If you have, how do they compare and can you taste an aftertaste? I would just hate to order a whole box and have them sitting around.

  6. Steph- Did the doc do labs and see if you were diabetic before putting you on Byetta? Could putting you on it when you didn't need it for diabetes cause sugar levels to look like you have it? Do they have a certain blood test for diabetes or just blood sugar levels? Just curious, I thought about asking my doc, but just wondering if it could cause something like that.

  7. I took my kids to the movies yesterday and half way into it I realized that my legs were crossed, which was very uncomfortable before, plus the fact that I had to help my big fat leg over the other with my hands. I did it without even thinking and it is comfortable! Just had to share cause I know no one else would understand.

  8. anyone here had the flu with vomitting since being banded? My husband and 2 kids all have it and were throwing up tonight. My hands are raw from all the washing, plus the clorox wipes, lisol and febreeze. I am so afraid I'm next. I haven't had anything like this for years and years. Last time I threw up was from drinking too much way before bandland. Is it ok to throw up with the band? Has anyone?

  9. Anyone else's hair falling out after all this time? I know people talked about it in the beginning, but mine has been falling out big time in the last month or two, whereas it didn't at first... I am a slower loser than some, I think I've lost more in the last 3 months than the first 5, wonder if that has anything to do with it.

  10. It has been a while since my last post and it’s because I have been kind of having a hard time with my band. It’s all the same old thing, I can eat as much as the bad stuff as I could possibly want and could only eat small portions of the healthy stuff. I know I have put some weight back on. I don’t know how much because I am so freaked out of what the scale reads, so I just won’t even get on that thing. My pants sizes are staying the same and I still feel good, but I can see some more belly fat around the love handle area. I am pretty sure I need another fill but I am kind of embarrassed to go in there because of the weight gain. I guess I need to get over all that and just go in there.

On another note I have a girl question for you all. I have always been kind of a shy guy and the when I meet girls it always been when a friend introduces me or I meet them at a party or something along those lines. As far as seeing a girl at the store or doc office and going up to them and asking them out, I have never really done that. My problem is I really want to take this girl out at my orthodontist office (yes I am 26 years old with braces) and I don’t really know the best approach to ask her. She is pretty out going, friendly, funny, smart, and it seems like we have some stuff in common. It kind of sucks, all the qualities I see in her that I like, is the same reasons why I am intimated by her. I know I am not all that bad looking and I like to think of myself as a fun person to be around, I just still lack the confidence even after losing 120lbs. Anyhow I just kind of wanted to get everyone’s take on this. Any good tips on how to raise the confidence level?

Dan- do you know if she's available? You could ask around in the office to see if she is. Ask her to dinner, all she can say is no, big deal if she does, not the end of the world. As a girl myself, I would be flattered no matter who asked me out, even if it was some geeky guy. I would think it was nice of them to ask, so just go for it.
