I honestly don't think I could find a recent before. I wouldn't let anyone take a pic of me, and I was always behind the camera...I'll have to look...

Well I ate 3 tacos last night for supper, and I was able to eat a whole breakfast burrito from McD's this morning, so I think I'll go for that 3rd fill next week, what'd'ya think?? I've heard if you can eat breakfast that you are not tight enough. I had a NSV?? Is that what ya'll call it? I put on a T-shirt this morning and I didn't even have to stretch the Hell out of it like I usually do! It just hung nicely, not snug, whoo hoo!

Question for people banded for over a year

How did you guys know when you hit your sweet spot? I had my 2nd fill last week, I have 2cc in my 4cc band. I do feel more restricted, but I get hungry within 2 hours after eating, I can eat about a cup to a cup and a half at a time, things get stuck easy and I get the golf ball feeling easy too. I have an appt for another fill next week if I want, I'm just not sure what to do.....

So tell me, how many fills have you had, and how long ago was your last one? Before you felt this way, were you getting hungry more often? I'm just not sure if I'm at my spot or not.... I sure eat less, but I'm hungry every couple hours, and I do get the golfball...

Yes, I do that with the protein bars. I can't eat but a small amount at a time, so I find myself getting hungry every couple hours, so I'll take a couple bites of a bar and it will hold me over for a little while. My doctor said to eat 3 meals a day and no snacking in between. I cannot do that at all, I would starve! I find myself eating more often now, but much much smaller quantities. I will admit that sometimes it is not good stuff, but maybe a cookie, BUT only ONE cookie, not 4 or 5! I have lost a few lbs this week after my 2nd fill finally after being stalled for over a month, so whatever works!

Does anyone else have a love/hate feeling about their band? I finally have restriction after my first fill last week, and am having a hard time getting used to it. I used to take huge bites and hardly chew and I could be done with a meal in 5 minutes, bad I know, but I got used to it with my job, no regular lunch breaks, just a few minutes here and there to scarf food down. It is sooooo hard to take 1/2 tsp bites and chew 30 times and take 20-30 minutes to eat. Anyone else have weird headaches when they are eating sometimes, it's almost like a mild brainfreeze type ache. Anyway, just thought I'd post since it is so quiet in here.

I wondered if that might be the case. It is just going to take some getting used to. Does everybody else's food get cold by the time your getting done? So I am supposed to be eating 1/2-1cup of food 1/2 tsp at a time, and take 30 min to do so. Do you get a full feeling? Thanks

I feel the same way! I can't hardly eat without something feeling stuck, or it goes down real slow. It takes me forever to eat a cup of food, but I'm hungry all of the time, I'm not getting the full feeling. I don't get it either, anyone have any thoughts??

Lap Band Fills / Adjustment Info

Do you by chance have Cigna Ins? I do, and the dr's office said that's the only one that they have had that makes them do that, it is such BS...

    June 2006 Band Crew

Hey June 2006 bandsters! I'm a 2007 June bandster with a question for you guys that are more used to this.... How do you know when you have hit the spot? On my first fill I had no restriction and could eat anything, and I just got my 2nd fill 2 days ago and feel like nothing goes down very easy, I chew chew chew and take 30 minutes to eat even a cut up soft peach. I feel it going down and some gurgling... however, I am hungry all of the time, I thought I was supposed to feel full. I just don't get it, I thought your pouch was supposed to fill up, but I feel like every bite I can feel going through. Thanks in advance for any advise...

Well I had my 2nd fill yesterday, 2cc in 4cc band. I can't eat a thing hardly! I hope it loosens a tid bit! I still don't understand the mechanics of this I guess. It is supposed to tighten up so food takes longer to go through to the big stomach, but things get stuck and back up if it doesn't go through, but I thought it wasn't supposed to go through right away, ie: feeling full faster. I'm confused, you would think after all of this I would understand a little better.

Thanks Insub- Does the fullness feel the same as when you didn't have the band or is it more in the throat/chest? I have only had one fill and I don't have any restriction yet. I get my 2nd on Monday.

My favorite way to eat brussel sprouts is to lightly drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic salt in a corning ware dish with lid and microwave for a few minutes, yum... also works with asparagus...

What is omnipac? I go for my 2nd fill in one week, it was supposed to be 4 more weeks but I called and whined for it to be sooner. I have no restriction either at this point and am also fighting not to gain right now. Here's hoping the 2nd one works!!

    June 2007 Bandsters

Well I had my first fill yesterday, 1cc in a 4cc. It didn't hurt, but I could sure feel the "whoosh" of saline going around in there, kind of a weird feeling. I had some soup after, and today I have had a shake and some cottage cheese all with no problems, I can't wait to eat a real meal to see if anything has changed. I am a little nervous though, I took my vitamins with no problem this morning, and some are quite big, I was expecting some slowness going down, but had none. I hope that doesn't mean I won't have some restriction. I won't get my next fill for 5 weeks, sigh... Does anyone else take big vitamins such as vit E, or flax/fish oil after they are fully filled?

Do you suppose it still works if you drink those 7-10 glasses AT ONCE!!?? LOL
  22. bcrazy7

    June 2007 Bandsters

Yes! I am the exact same way!! Except for I will crave sweets over salty any day. I was never a Breakfast or lunch eater, and I hate taking the time to do it, but I have been trying really hard. I think I gained so much weight for the same reason, no exercise and eating all of my calories after 4pm. The hardest part for me is going to be eating 3 actual meals.

Anybody eating protein bars? If so what is your favorite, and what is the calorie/protein content.......

    June 2007 Bandsters

I have the same things going on with my sleep. I have always been one to stay up late and get up late, but recently I have been on more of a "regular" sleep pattern. I am tired around 11pm and am in bed by midnight and I am waking at 7am which is NOT normal for me. I used to be sooo tired in the morning even after getting enough sleep and I had a very hard time getting out of bed, but now when I wake up, I feel awake. I thought it might be the thyroid meds they put me on, I'm on month 3, so I wondered if they were finally kicking in, but now I'm starting to think it has to do with the band??? Whatever the cause, it's a nice side effect.

My port site is not bruised at all, but it is a big lump like you say. I rub it all the time when Im standing up, it feels just like when I was prego and the baby's head or a foot is right there in your side. My sister caught me rubbing it and said it looked like I was rubbing a pregnant belly the way I was doing it, so I have to watch myself in public. It's just so foreign feeling. I don't feel it when I'm sitting or lying down near as much. I am 3 weeks post op and can eat anything, as a matter of fact we went for pizza tonight and I had no trouble at all. I just chew chew chew. I am starting to feel just as "un" restricted as before the band. Cant wait for a fill!
