  1. Thanks for all the encouragement. The cramping has not been as intense today as it was yesterday' date=' but it has been a challenge to get down 1 shake & one 16oz bottle of Water taken in 1oz shots every 20mins. I still have another 14.5oz shake and another bottle of water to try and get down today it's tough.[/quote']

Congrats on your surgery it will get better

  2. Okay. It's been 24 hours since I got my sleeve! My arms look like human pincushions' date=' and I'm still on and off nauseous. The pain was actually a lot worse than I expected it to be, but already today as opposed to yesterday it's so much better, is improving by the hour. I'm really trying hard to push myself, trying to move around as much as possible, use the incentive spirometer. I was unable to pee after surgery yesterday, that was a big bummer and I had to have a catheter inserted and removed- but now I'm finally able to go on my own. My surgeon pulled the NGT this morning (it drained old blood all last night) and now I'm just waiting for the leak test... If all goes well I'll be starting sips of Water soon! My belly is grumbling big time- definitely hungry, but I'm wicked nervous to put anything in it so soon... I guess I have to start sometime though! If there is one thing I have learned in the past 24hrs is that although this is NOT easy, I am sososo happy and excited for my second chance :) sending love and prayers to my fellow October sleeves, wouldn't mind some being sent back this way as well![/quote']

    Sending you love and prayers

  3. Yea my doc said I looked liked a rock star as he out it he said I looked like I was there visiting someone I was up and moving 2nd day on my own. I even went out and walked my kids to school today which is about 2 miles both ways so I'm doing fantastic and I'm already down 25 pounds haven't even touched my pain meds Sent from my iPad using VST

Wow I am so glad you are doing fine, you just have given me the strength to get mines done lol. My date is next week Wednesday and I am ready

  4. Hello it sounds like you was doing exactly what I did, I did research and got scared when it came time to get it done and back away. But know I am to the point that I am getting done and I will claim my life back. I think you will be fine and will be able to get it done even if your BMI is not 35. So good luck and hope to see you on the other side.

  5. Thanks KristyM' date=' you are right the negative feedback came from my daughter, who I know is scared for me. I have to get this weight off of me once and for good. I have been on almost every diet known to man. I don't have any co-morbidities but have a family history of hypertension, diabetes, kidney disease and fatty liver. That is not what I want for my life. I am doing this for me and I won't let anyone stop me. I have several people who Gastric Bypass, but have made the decision for Gastric Sleeve for most of the reasons you already stated. Thanks for the support. By the, I am a very spiritual person and I have been building up my faith. I appreciate you reaching out in support of my decision and journey. BTW - you look AMAZING! I will soon be your sleeve sister.[/quote']

My daughter is the same way she don't want me to have the surgery only because she is afraid for me which is understandable. But I am singing like you nothing or no one is going to stop me, I'm taking back my life

  6. I remember feeling exactly the same, I have been wanting to get surgery for a couple of years and put it off because of fear. But now I have made up my mind and decide that this is the right thing to do and I'm willing to do it to get my life back. My surgery is set for Oct 23rd nervous and waiting!!!
