Good luck Lilmispcl! You can do it!
Hmm, I am thinking I like the sound of your pre-op plan than mine
Ah well, I would eat brussell sprouts for 14 days straight if they told me that that is what I need to do.
Hope your first day is going well!

I am on day 4 of the Slimtime shakes. I have not experienced the diarrehea or nausea. A headache from time to time. I am eating my low glycemic veggies and added Benefibre.
I do feel quite tired and sluggish.
I like both flavours evenly! Maybe chocolate a bit more. It taste best if really cold. I make it up and then stick it in the freezer to chill quickly.
Surgery is April 5th......and then another week of the Slimtime shakes.

Congrats! I am being banded 04.05.12, only a few days before you. Good luck with the pre-op. You can do it!!!

I weight every morning. In the past when I ate badly, I ignored the scale for weeks. That is part of the problem. I will weigh every morning from now until I die to ensure I never let myself go again. I like the idea of tracking it as well. I am still in the pre-op stage but it cannot hurt to start now.

- Thanks Ladies! I just had a big wake up call regarding the need to change our habits. I was making lunch for my daughter and her friend. I got ketchup on finger and was going to lick it off. I caught myself! I wonder how many licks, dips, and tastes I have done in the past that have added up to a lot of empty calories. How many times have I unconciously put food in my mouth without thinking about it? I find this disturbing to say the least.

2 full days down with 3 shakes per day and low gylcemic veggies! Wow, it has not been easy. Who knew a bowl of cooked cauliflower w/ Mrs. Dash could taste soooo wonderful. I am already down 5lb and it feels great. Following instructions like my life depends on it (kinda does, doesn't it?). I hope the next 12 days fly by.

Thanks everyone! Wow, this is very supportive and inspirational! First shake down this morning, 62 more to go  (2 weeks pre-op and 1 week post-op).
I am not sure about the taste (chocolate Slim Time) but I have had worse. Throwing some Benefibre into my morning and evening shake to keep up the fibre. I am so excited to see this though!
Happy Friday!!

SWLC- Dr. Cobourn on April 5th. Loads of research. Can't wait

"Do you mind if I ask what clinic you are having your lap band at? I'm in Ontario as well and considering CIBO but recently got news of reduced hours at work, both my husband and I work at same place, so now kinda afraid to spend the $18000 and not sure that I can miss the time for follow up appts. Im also located approx 2 hours away and dont drive in Toronto so both of us would have to miss time. I was hoping to have surgery during my week of shutdown vacation time so that's not really an issue.
Good luck with your pre op diet and surgery."
Hey Mugs- I am booked into the Surgical Weight Loss centre in Mississauga. Dr Cobourn called me on Monday to chat. Wow, I have never met a more personable doctor! He was so easy to talk to. It really set my mind at ease. All his support staff have also been equally wonderful. I had researched and narrowed it down to SWL and Credit Valley. The reviews for Dr. Cobourn is what swayed me. Good luck! I hope you are able to have this done during your vacation time!
p.s. bought a new chapstick last night to take with me! I just hope I remember where I put it in two weeks time.
Thanks everyone for your support, advice, and sharing a bit of yourself. I find it so valuable.

Great idea about the shakes--thanks Dawn! I will hit costco on the weekend. I have been reading on here that they have some great Protein Shakes (Premier?)
I have Slim Time shakes this Friday. 2 weeks pre-op and 1 week post-op
It's a tough call regarding where to get your surgery done. It is $16,000 here in Ontario but I am one hour away from the clinic. To me that is big. I work full time with two young children and a hubby. Travelling for work once in a while is enough of an ordeal.
My mom and my husband are coming with me for my surgery. So happy for the support! My husband is already dusting out the blender and going to make my meals (pureed stage) for me.
I have printed out all my instructions and meal plans. Put them in a binder. I will take it home tonight so the other half can review and be as informed as I believe I am.
I plan on sticking to the instructions to the letter!

Thanks everyone for the kind words!
Lilmispcl- that is a great idea. Please feel free to contact me at any time! Are you also starting your shakes this Friday? By the way, I am in Ontario, Canada. So pumped!!

Hello there,
I am booked for surgery April 5th. Start my pre-op diet this Friday. Went and had a look around the clinic yesterday. Everyone is so wonderful and helpful. I am feeling a lot of anxiety. Enough that I could not have a food funeral if I tried! I have researched for over a year but only now am financially ready. Struggled since my early teens. Looking forward to having this tool assist my on my weight loss journey.
I have been creeping this forum for some time and have found the people on here to be informative, caring, and honest. I can honestly say that some of the posts have really hit home!
Countdown begins!!
