    Ok so here's my story.

Good luck! I really hate insurance companies!!!! I have 5 adopted kids with down syndrome and other special issues and two "tpical" and one preemie..... I swear I spend an hour to three each week dealing with them about something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope your doctor has better luck than mine....most do fight and do it well, but a lot of policies are like mine......ALL EXCLUDED. The paid for my removal....all except the surgeon fees!!!! He is still arguing with them...... and we are appealing for the third time! I am paniced they will come back and make me pay all the bills so I guess I will likely give up and pay the cash price his OM set up for me! (same that ins would have paid) BU GOOD LUCK and listen and try what your doctor suggests....you chose him for a reason.

    100+ Pound Club

They were within a few hours of each other. I really feel had they done their job (given me lung shot when I begged /asked and we had been able to do the surgery when I go to the third hospital..... instead of waiting another 2 1/2 days....... we would not have had the c section. My little guy is doing great accept for his heart monitor.....still dragging it around.....no one knows why is slows and occassional stops..... they say there is nothing wrong..... but it does.....blamed on his prematurity! OH I do enjoy it every day!!!!!! I love it....... and other than you guys very few people know I had surgery the first time and I am likely not telling them unless they ask this time! I only am 15 lbs heavier than when I nursed Jordan..... not bad for no band and a horrendous over eater....... but still 40 lbs above my goal...... and I know know know that w/o it we will just keep going up! So scardly looking foward to the 22nd...my flight and the 23rd:ohmy:...... my surgery! If we do not do it now.....it will be next summer before I can try again!

    Sleeve Restriction

i know the whole first year of being banded......i had a period every 2-3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was making up for years of having one or two! My OB said it was a reaction to the estrogen loss from the fat cell. He told me this happens a lot in women and in almost all his pcos clients that had any type of bariatric surgery

    Artificial sweetners

well....i know that my PCOS causes insulin resistance as well as gynological fertility issues..... and i react with the same issues to aspartame the same way as i do with sugar!..... but i drink crystal light a lot more since emerson's birth.....and i am feeling like i want more sugar all the time! i used them rarely if at all while losing when banded. same with margerine...only butter....only real food except in the crystal light..... but usually i drank Water or skim milk

    100+ Pound Club

when i did it with the band......i just set mini goals....like 250 then 220....then below 200.below 175 then we readjusted goal to 150. it helped so much..... I really liked those goal weights cause the corresponded well with size chages (3xl to xl) the L then M the 8/10. I am pretty tall and really do have a large frame.... so 8/10 was about as small as i got......i started to have a few people worried every time i weny below 150. My follow up doctor said it was because I had about 15-20 lbs of hanging skin....so I was closer to 130 - 135 which was about 20 bmi! We shall see how I do sleeved? I need to get this baby weight off! W?O band I have really been horrible!

    Body Image

the coolest thing I did was move about 8 months after my band surgery .....85 lbs gone! no one at our new school or area ever knew me fat! first people since 4th grade and i was 37 then! it was amazing.....and gave me a lift that no mirror ever did! people really did see me as more confident and such! it was enough of a differece that one of my children's ei therpists told me how nice i was by letting eric keep photos of his first wife up (they were me).......i do have a few on the walls.... i actually used to hide from photos.......

    This is my story

Awesome stats!!!!!!!!!!! Great work on your part!!!!! and it sounds like you have a great dr too
  17. reply.... my two cets... is each his own and is responsible for their own choices. However..... I got sent home w/ feeding tube (NG) on pump and and IV to save my US insurance company money (not my choice....nor was I given one.... it was this is what we will cover and I couldn't do the 9k per day)...... I could make two to three days at home and then go back..... this went on for almost a month before they added the TPN line and still we played this game till I was not able to keep from having the baby (due to the stomach which was now strangulated.....though no one knew) So please be aware this is done here too.....in the good ole usa...... so many people are used to this. my friend with the by pass here ....also paid by her insurance....... had to be at hospital at 5 am........was out next evening by 7 pm......that was all allowed asnd this was just last fall (08) so for some of us, the recovery in the hotel is not a huge difference than the treatment we have received here in USA.
  18. Not sleveed but banded when I have had many in the hospital! (that SN kid thing....three heart surgeries + etc) I always got the tuna salad.....egg salad.....or chicken salad......soup was a great stand by, of course I could go with the mashed potatoes or baked potato....a yogurt parfait.....bannana (the magic food that squishes like a mushie, but looks normal....high sugar though)....they also usually have ice cream and other little cups. they cook the heck out of the vegies too.....the carrots and broccoli were always squishable!, and my fall back of fall backs was a little chili I know it sound like a whole lot of crap....... but when my kids were there (as likely in your case) you just need to eat something to get by and hope that it isn't for too long, it gets difficult. Our children's hospital also sold slimfast in the gift shop.....again it was cheating as a bandster......but in some situations you do what you have too......

    Give me a break!

me too! ok for real. It costs us any time the president or his family step out of the rooms at the white house..... there security is a cost already built in. He can't just take a train to union station unless he takes the whole train! It is because he is president. I do not begrudge them a night out.... I doubt we as taxpayers paid for the tickets (likely got them for free or he paid for them) but we do have to pay for his transportation there ..... just like we paid for him to go to the capital building or lunch with Bidden (he just paid for the food) , It is a perk or such of the job...... I would think the scrutiny of his office and invasions into their personal moments hardly will ever make up for this.....but it is all a part of package..... I think few would want, but many could do better or at least just as well!

    Does anyone care?

it should have been " 7 in diapers some due for their special needs". Five of them the 8 1/2, 8 , 7 , 5 and 3 year old are not potty trained....thought we are doing better in some areas.... with some of them. I hope to have the seven yearold and the fiver year old out of diapers byt he end of the summer....ok there is hoping / praying. My biological 2 1/2 year old is potty training right now. He spends all the time we are outside in yard in underware and is peeing on potty abour 3/4 time during the day..... but not out in public yet or overnight! Then I have the bio infant......years to go yet! I am not a saint or any of that..... most of the time I would be classibied the B word to people outside my family...... ask the mcdonalds person who forgot one of my happy meals! But I fiercely love my children! All five have down syndrome, one has autism and a lot of drug exposure, several do not talk (I hope the word I continue to use is yet). They run the gambit in functioning abilities...... and we survive on the kindness of strangers....... a lot of kindess! all were from children from US foster care system (or would have been eventually there) so I often look at the help I do get from the state as a lot cheapre than if they had stayed there on all tax payers. I have one because her parents could not get help and her medical bills to start with were astronomical! (don't get ne started on how unfair that it!) Ironically a lot of people marvel at how we function. My social worker from MR department used to freak out till I was in the hospital...... for so long....... she found out the kids all help each other and love each other. She had to come and help take care of the kids while they were waiting for emergency help to get here from my "family" cause they are a lot to manage for my husband alone! And I don't call the girls who work for me our nannies or PCA (personal care assistants)....... they are kid wranglers!... I do not think if you have a few tattos or body piercings that makes you a nanny type material. But I do have someone about 8 hours a day five days a week in school year (usually so I can go to dr with one of them, or volunteer at school or go to IEP meeting or other meetinf ( I had 37 last year). They help make my life easier. When Emerson gets bigger we will go back to less time with help...... but it is hard to nurse and monitor all his heart and breathing issues right now ! but thanks for thinking I am a nice person!

    Does anyone care?

Well...as a mom of eight (and i have 7 in diaper due to their specialneeds) I do envy her organization and in the three shows I have watched.... the fact their neighbor used to come over and fold her laundry............ I need a neighbor like that. But also in those three shows....very early ones.....I thought she was way too grumpy to him! I know how hard it is and all that personally! but in reality I do not really care about them or the octomom! (accept I am sorry for her bills to the california tax payers..... I know how many I had and I had insurance with my one preemie! )

    Give me a break!

i can count on one hand in about 3 second....thing i think are more important to have in the news than his date....by the way my husband i try to do something every month! uRGH ............ do iwish he had solved health care by now....YEP..... will not going to see broadway show have made it done ...likely not.... my sister in law works in a show there so him coming might have helped her...so I thnk it was a great thing !

A New Home - Sleeve People!

happy to see the move.....my removal of lap band would scare anyone. I know the OB has a nurse in his office with one.....and she freaked out cause she knew other than the puking while pregnant I never did anything wrong (accept occassionally trying to see if I could eat a pickle.....same results NO)
