  9. Hey Blue! Welcome to the site and you will find most of all the answers here! It took me about 3 months to get my surgery date after all the appointments and stuff. I have surgery on May 21st. You will have to go through a whole process of appointments before your surgery depending on what your doctor requires before they send all your medical info for your insurance for approval. It could be a quick or long process. Good luck!! - Amine
  10. Well I'm counting down the days until my surgery and everything is coming together well and time is flying by so quick. I started this process back in February and I can't believe its almost May already lol. Well its been a long time coming to get a Lap Band and its been a full year of researching all the surgeries and soaking up all the info I can get. I'm stoked on getting the surgery and living a better lifestyle and being healthy and doing the things I thought I would never be able to do with being overweight. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and I will get there!! My Pre-Op diet consist of High Protein and low carbs (800-1100 calories per day). I'm not looking forward to it but I have a great mindset and I will push through it!! I have been doing little things for the past week to kind of prep myself post op by portioning my foods, reading food label's, chewing thoroughly and not drinking while I eat. I gotta say its rough trying to kick the drinking part but I know if I continue doing that I will have nothing but issues after getting my lap band. I had the chance of going on video last week to document/track my progress after surgery and beyond. I never thought in a thousand years of making a YouTube video and letting the whole world see me lol. Since researching for my surgery, just watching other peoples videos it gave me the bravery and inspiration to do it and knowing in a year or two I could look back on it and just smile on how far I have came. Well I will shut up for now Good Luck to everyone that is about to have there surgery - Amine
  11. Good luck kphhoping! It took about 3 months myself. I have surgery next month on the 21st!
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1iqMmA1chQ Not sure why you couldn't find it hopefully this link will help
  13. Hey everyone, I just started my own YouTube channel about my upcoming surgery next month. I'm going to be tracking my progress every week or every two weeks after surgery. I'm doing a video "blog" to look back on in a year or so to reflect on what I have done. I put a video out just to see what people think and see what responses I would get. I feel like doing videos would definitely help people out! If you want to check it out search: AmineTheMachine and the video is called Lap Band surgery and info. Look forward to hearing from some of you!! -Amine

  17. Awesome Ginger! You going to IBC?
  18. Thanks for the info eve I will most likely eat me some cottage cheese!! There isn't a week were I don't have it so I will defiently throw that in there if I'm aloud to!!
  19. Sorry for the late replies!! @ Giselle215 My process for the Lap Band has been over a year or so now. I wanted to have it done last year but I didn’t have enough time to use from work and I just wasn’t emotionally and mentally ready for it. In the past 7 months or so I have been reasearching like crazy and just getting all the info I could get into my big head of mine lol. I started the process in March and I have surgery at the end of May as I stated in my post before. So about 3 months it took me to get approved and ready for surgery next month. I think part of why it was so quick is because it’s the beginning of the year. I would suggest you get as much information as you can from the seminar and it HELPS a lot and plus the awesome people on here will answer any questions you have regarding anything. I have been going to support groups the past 3 months and I’m not even banded yet but hearing the things from people who are living the banded life helps me a lot and I will soon to join them in a few months! Let me know how everything goes for you and I’m here to help if need anything! @ Erica313 It has been a long process for me to but from appointment to appointment, it didn’t take me long to get approved. I didn’t have to do any surprised diet or anything like that so I’m more less ready to get this over with and start my path to a better healthy life!! @utkscvol1 I have BCBS of IL
