  1. The day is creeping up on me and I'm scared as hell. Not of the surgery itself but afterward. What if I gulp too much Water on the first day' date=' what if I eat the wrong thing, what if i don't chew enough, what if I can't handle the gas pain?????? So many what if's. what if I can't do this???? Did everyone feel this way?[/quote']

Its going to be ok..my surgery was Thursday morning. .I too was scared as hell..not afraid of the surgery. .afraid of the after affects..I was still awake when they took me to the ooperating room..the anesthesia nurse gave me something to calm my nerves..everything was moving so fast..next thing you know I woke up in recovery...couldn't feel my other incisions only the one where the port is..I really didn't have anything to drink because my throat was bothering me..but I started everything post op day 1..best wishes to you

  2. I am 3 days post op and my throat is still sore. I am guessing it is from the tubes they put down your throat. Has anyone else got a sore throat???

I was banded Thursday and when I woke up in recovery the first thing I said was throat pain..totally forgot about the five incisions in my abdomen because thats how bad my throat was hurting. .but I have using sore throat lozenges. .and now it doesn't hurt anymore

  3. Hey all' date='

I was banded Monday and have been doing pretty well (have lost 11.1 lbs since surgery) and have been taking LORTAB every 4-6 hours apart from when I'm sleeping... have been walking too.

Last time I took the meds was 7:10 AM and have been fine until now (10 PM) and there is a severe pain feeling on my right side of my belly... I took the LORTAB 20 min ago but it still really, really hurts. Feels as if something is pushing forward and it's very painful!

    Any help is appreciated! Thanks

If the pain doesn't stop..call your doctor. .the only pain I have felt really is the left sided port pain.. other that..im post op day two and healing quite well..

I had shoulder pain and collar bone pain today outside as I was trying to get my walk in..I took in a deep breathe and felt like someone was standing vBulletin on my chest..but now believe it or not I dont feel any pain except the port pain..keep walking. .burp if you can..pass gass.most of all keep walking. .

  5. I hope your feeling better. I know the first few days are the worst' date=' but it does get better I promise. I don't have any pain anymore, just some breathing issues, but that's just me.[/quote']

Tawnya I too have minimal pain..but when I take a deep breathe in its hurts a little but when I blow out my mouth it doesn't. .are those the breathing issues you are having?

  6. Glad you are doing well. I read somewhere that 3 to 4 days post op the swelling may be at it's worst. I think that was me yesterday (3 days post op). Today it was early severe nausea. Hopefully you will be able to drink soon and be on your way to a full recovery.

Thanks. .I had severe nausea yesterday. .but none today. .I was able to get broth down with no problem. ..I walked outside to the end of the driveway and back..hopefully soon the port pain ease up soon..im taking it day by day..wish you the best too..

  7. Hello all!! My name is Rayvon..I have been approved for the band back in December 2012 right before Christmas but had to put it off until May the 9th. 2013(band date) because I am in school and I couldn't miss any days this semester. I am excited, nervous, happy and overjoyed. .The closer it gets to May the more nervous I get...any type of pre op pointers are greatly appreciated..thanks!!
