  1. I never really vomited till this last fill. I was afraid it was too tight. I'm trying to really concentrate on bite size now. Never had to before this last fill. I am trying solids again today for first time. First sign of sticking and I go back for an unfill.
  2. Gg, I didn't realize someone sent you a private message being rude. That is totally uncalled for. Gg, I will try to answer any questions, to the best of my little knowledge. And if you ever want to just vent or chat or need encouragement , I will listen as well. Good luck with everything.
  3. I agree with Shaz. I can't tell you how many fights I've had with people over nasty rude text messages only to find out I totally read them wrong way. It is very easy to misread meaning behind words when you can not hear them. That being said, gg I am so sorry if any one offended you. I think we are all here ultimately to help each other. And I can promise you that you will always get a kind word and response, and usually some bad humor, from me.
  4. I loved diet soda. The truth is I have cheated once or twice post surgery. And both times I HATED the taste of both diet or regular. So now easy as heck to avoid. Best of luck!
  5. Hi kris. For strength.training I strongly suggest going out and getting a fitness magazine or two. Not only will it give you great ideas and tips, but it will totally help motivate you. I've become a huge fan of body weight exercises. The basics. Push ups, squats. They work the whole body great. Start building up strength by staying on your. Knees while doing them if you need. Bi cep and tri cep exercises can be added. As for juicing, I just got interested as well. My only concern would be that I'd be adding too many calories in liquid form. I'm still up in the air about it. Best of luck with everything.
  6. I've vomited several times, especially in the last week after a fill. I'm trying to readjust my bite size. But if that doesn't work I'm in to get an unfill.
  7. In all fairness, I'm surprised to see this post. Not upset mind you. However, if I was told that I'd be too busy putting up billboards in town to even have time to post it here. Lol.
  8. Hi Roxie. It does stop. But god only knows when. Lol. The gas sticks around a bit. And for some longer than others. Until it stops, be gratefully for no smell. Lol. And if it happens here, feel free to blame me. Lol
  9. Hi. First of al let me say good luck . I'm no expert, but will try. I would think of course you should feel tired. You have consumed much less calories than normal. So your body is gonna crash a bit. The shakes need to be your friend right now. I loved the carb control e a s shakes. I wouldn't worry about starvation. That's why you need the Protein shakes. But try to get one in every three hours. It will get better. Good luck and keep us updated.
  10. lace, I just wanted to say congrats on pregnancy. I'm not sure what else to say since being a guy I have no idea what you will be going through. lol. I don't know how or if the lap band has any effect on a pregnancy. But I wanted to reach out and say good luck and let you know I'll be wishing you the best! You can always vent. I'll always listen. Best of luck in your journey. Keep us updated.
  11. Hi peaceful. I am in no way an expert. But have a possible answer. I think that when I do pure liquids my body says- whoa big fella, what are you doing to me? It than says- you aren't giving me anything good. So it decides I dont like it anymore and am going to neglect it to death. So it gets scared and says I better hang on to every drop you put in me. Every drop of water. Or crystal light iced tea in my case, cause without that I'd never had made it. Product placement inserted now. Ok, that was my poor attempt at humor. But I do think thats the case. Its your body keeping everything you put in. My wife could never understand it. But I tried to explain it this way. A professional hockey goalie can lose up to ten pounds during the course of one single game due to sweating. A professional athlete. So for us it would be easy to retain that much in liquids alone after a liquid fast. Body weight has many many factors. Give it a few days and see if it doesnt settle back down. Wishing you the best!
  12. Hi Carolinagirl. I also had plication w/ lap band. Thank you for the greetings. I'm so glad I found this site.
  13. Hi. I'm new to this site myself. Only fair to leave my story. LOL. My high weight was around 340. My wife decided to do Lap band. She wanted me to as well. I was hesitant because, well I felt I could just do it myself. I couldn't. LOL. I said that I would try for one full year. Really try on my own. And if it didnt work than I'd consider it. One year later. . . . Made my first appointment with her doctor. I had my surgery Feb. of 2012. It hit me hard. The day after my wife's surgery she climbed hills in the park. The day after mine- I laid in agony like a bus ran me over followed by a truck and a few marching bands. And it wasn't getting better fast. I couldnt stomach the taste of protein shakes. Which was odd cause i've loved them my whole life. My luck. But over time things got better. Today I am down to 265. And in all fairness there was a six month period in between where this was put on the back burner due to some tragic family issues. But the day after Christmas I said it was time to rededicate myself. Since then I'm down over twenty pounds and going strong. Good luck to you!
  14. I had that feeling once too. Over stuffed myself. We all have our moments. Calling your doctor is important. They are only there to help. I remember not being able to really eat for almost a month after my surgery. I didnt take to it very well.Felt like I got run over by a truck. But it got better. I'll be wishing you luck!!!!
  15. Thanks velmasmall. I appreciate it.
  16. gg, I've never felt any pain from a fill. I havent been sedated or numbed. My doc just presses down on port and injects. It's less pain than a typical flu shot or blood drawn. Good luck with it.
  17. Hi all. I just got a fill a week ago. Liquids and mushy went down no problem. Solid foods were impossible. I'm trying to really concentrate on bite size now. But Very very little solids seem to do down resulting in a lot of having it come right back up. I'm wondering if this isn't what you guys are talking about. My doctor said to try two days of liquid only again, than two days of soft. Than retry solids again really concentrating on bite size. But will admit, I'm a little nervous.
  18. Jennifer. DONT GIVE UP. There are a great number of reasons the weight didnt change. Look at it this way_- It didnt jump up thirty pounds! You are doing great. I stalled for a while. Got bummed. Than realized IT WAS ME that was not doing the right things. It sounds to me like you are. Just give it a little time. Rememeber- we didnt get heavy over night, and we wont get thin over night. Stick with it. You are doing great. And we are there for you. So vent all you want. I'll never stop listening!
  19. Hello all. I'm new to this site. I got a fill six days ago. Liquids went down. Than soft foods like mashed potatoes went down. Now I'm back on solids. And have gotten stuck with every meal. Could it be that my bite size is too large now after all this time? Has any one else experienced this? Thank you in advance, and I look forward to getting to know you all. Charles.
