  1. Hello Isopure Fruit Punch..nice to meet you!

This was not in the brochure

What a great humorous relief to read today!!! From the commercials to the small boy band playing in my stomach all day, I can totally related to your post! I am amazed at the food commercials from 5:00-10:00 with high levels of calories and fat content. During the day it seems a little better with the yogurt commercials but still. It is everywhere you look. I am not looking forward to having a meeting with my staff and my stomach decides to have a Lady Gaga concert right there in the room!

    I'm scared!!!!

Della- I can relate to the bucket list of food before surgery along with the food funerals from another post. I went on vacation a week before my surgery and I actually took the time to eat slowly and enjoy those foods that brought me to a unhealthy world. I have parted ways with them almost like the Swiffer commercial and the mop! Lol! Onto new recipes and choices.....a better life.

    Uuhh Oohh

Wow! I am learning so much from this post. PB'ing is good to know. Thank you to the more experienced banders out there. So glad we are all in this journey together! Feel a little lost in my own world since no one near me can truly understand what this is all about both physically and mentally.

    Banded 3/5...Finally!

Cozy- so happy to hear you are okay and all went well. How are you feeling now? I got banded the day before you and I am one hungry patient right now.

    would you do it again?

This was a great question to ask and I am thoroughly enjoying reading the responses. I received my lap band on Monday and I hate the starving feeling. I know when I wake up each day it is one day closer to some food and not clear liquids. Thank you to everyone who does respond as you provide motivation and guidance for me to keep moving through despite the growling stomach all day.
  8. My journey began in August when I got a referral to see my lap band doctor. I didn't have the courage to admit something was wrong with my eating and I was just too ashamed to take the "easy" way out. As I learned more about the procedure and spoke to the doctors, the more I realized nothing is easy when it comes to weight loss when you truly enjoy food and don't make changes based upon one's physical activity. I waited until after the holidays and met with my doctor on Jan. 11th. I told no one of this decision not even my husband. I looked into all the appointments and got all the pre-tests that were needed. My immediate family supports me on this and understands the changes that must be made. I just went to DisneyWorld with my family at the end of February prior to surgery and I can't even express how awful I felt about looking at the rides and wondering "will I fit?" I hate that feeling. But I knew that I was coming back to a surgery which will help me to fix that feeling for my next visit to DisneyWorld or any amusement park. I want to "fit" in no matter the size of the seat or the social environment. So my journey started in January with admitting I had to take control. Yesterday I took control with this surgery and I am so looking forward to seeing the less of me as the weeks go by...

    Sooooo hungry!!!

LOL! What my hubby can and cannot do is a totally different app! LOL!!!!! But seriously, I am the short order chef in my house so it up to me for the meals. I guess I am just grumpy as I detox my body during this stage. But I am still hungry.

    Any Arkansas banders out there!!

My lapband went in yesterday (3-4-13) and I am miserable. I am not from Arkansas but your post caught my eye as I feel the same way you do. I am soooo hungry! 4 oz of a clear liquid is torture! How are you making it through the day?

    Tooooomorrow tomorrow...

How exciting! I had my surgery yesterday (3-4-13). So far so good. Pain medication is a wonderful thing. I am hungry but I know this is part of making changes. I had the opportunity to watch the Biggest Loser last night with the Make-Over episode. I never watch that show so it was funny that it was actually on when I was flipping through channels. In any case, I can relate to your concerns. It will all be over shortly! Let the journey begin!
  12. Newbie! 24 hours post surgery. YIKES!
