    HELP!

Broccoli and other veggies and some meats this early on may require you to blend it up really good before consuming them. I think the correct term is puree? Hope you feel better.
  2. Wow!!! I'm just curious as to why one would go through such lengths to have obesity surgery and have been given information on what to do but then not do it???? Not trying to be mean here but I was scared to death to deviate from the plan immediately after surgery. Grant it I didn't always choose the best to eat especially when I was so darn hungry and it showed at least not this early after surgery. I gained a few pounds. Defeating the purpose. I listened to my team and kept telling myself to just do it. You know Nike's motto and I tell you the same. This is the most important part of the surgery and you can do it. Please stick to the liquid phase the amount of time they have told you. Your success or failure lies with you. So what are you going to be??? Successful or a failure? Congratulations on being banded and best wishes.
  3. Wow! So sorry you have endured such complications. I would suggest you seek another bariatric doctor and have him/her to give you a barium swallow test. I'm no doctor but it sounds like your band has possibly slipped.

    Last fill

It will be exactly one year since I had my last fill on tomorrow 8/7. I can't believe it's a year already. I was really hoping that this last fill would hold me as I was tired of getting poked every month. I guess I'm one of the lucky/blessed ones because finding my port was never a problem and I credit my surgeon for that. I haven't had any real problems until last month and that was eating just a little bit too much at dinner time because the food would taste soooo good and I was soooo hungry because I hadn't eaten all day because well I wasn't hungry. The problem that I "had" was night coughs and me spitting up water in the middle of the night until it was coming out my nose. Man I didn't want to go to the doctor for an unfill so I started all over again back to the liquid stage to calm my stoma (pouch) down. Well it worked. No more coughs and spitting up. And even if I'm not hungry I went on a one egg omlet with tomato and cheese and onion spree for a week mid-day so that by evening I could eat a little something and not have problems. It worked because I saw the water weight I was holding to just go bye bye. So I'm fluctuating between 141-144 depending on what I eat each day. All I can say is I LOVE MY BAND and I pray that we will be together forever til death do us part lol. Happy journey everyone.
  11. Well you just work that band girl!! Good for you.

    Pizza

Pizza is my favorite food. I stopped eating it when instructed to which was the first two years post op. After that I've been eating it. A slice maybe two depending on how thick the crust is. I usually just scrape the toppings off though. Hot dogs I seldom eat. I have to have a taste for them. I usually eat half a bun and finish eating the weiner and chilli by itself.
  13. I'm a gum chewer. It never hindered my progress but that's just me and I never swallow lol.

  15. Hello newbies. This is the time we call adjusting to the band. Your body does need time to heal and process the fact that heyyy, I'm not getting all that food in me. Yes, there will be many days that you're going to feel as though you're starving to death. But guess what???? You're not. You're just not used to eating and drinking this way and it does take time to get used too. Please please follow the plan of your bariatric team. They are the experts and we're your support. Congratulations on being banded and best wishes to you.

    Restriction vs interest?

I'm glad you got your fill and is recognizing what true restriction is. You're well on your way to losing again. Best wishes to you.

  21. If you go to the main bariatric pal page and scroll down, you'll see a list of other surgeries listed. Lapband with plication is one of them. It may be more helpful in answering some of your questions as well. Best wishes to you.

    iband newbie. lapband w plication

You're still in the healing process so two lbs so far is great. I would only weigh myself once a week. Our bodies change daily it will make u crazy. Pick a day and time to record yourself each week until you see your doctor. Remember scales are different so don't be disappointed if what your scale at home says as opposed to your doctor's because that's what matters. Congratulations on being banded.
