  2. Oh F me... I read the WHOLE thing... Someone needs to edit one of the first few posts and add "QUIT READING NOW" (once you get to the fighting it's impossible to just stop) haha Now I need some of that Percocet!! My head hurts. And I kinda want a snickers...

What i have to put up with

My husband can fall asleep anywhere too!! When I try to wake him up, he will open his eyes, look at me and go right back go sleep!! Lol One night he told me (in his sleep) that I was just not waking him up nicely enough. That perhaps if I said something like "Excuse me Sir, would you like to wake up out of dreamland and come into reality?" That he might wake up easier!! Lol the talking in his sleep is the best! Haha So now, on a regular basis, I wake him with that stupid greeting he dreamt up in his sleep! Haha

    Sitting in ER

Yeah, a high heart rate makes me worry about a blood clot than a leak as well! Hopefully it's nothing serious. Thinking of you!

    Hysterectomy pain?

I had a hysterectomy last year. Pain wise it really wasn't bad at all. I was sore for a little while but nothing really "hurt" as long as I didn't try to lift anything. Honestly I think the cramping the night of my ablation earlier that year was worse pain wise than my whole recovery from the hysterectomy! And now, just shy of 7 months post op from my hysterectomy, I can't believe everything I went through before hand. It's been such a blessing in my life!! I had 2 children and after a postpartum blood clot in my brain with my second daughter, we were officially done anyway (my hubby even got snipped 4 months before my surgery lol oops)! I couldn't take hormonal birth control anymore because of the clot, so hysterectomy was pretty much the only option left after my ablation only lasted 3 months! I was apprehensive about the pain (and only being 28 ) but I would do it again in a heartbeat now that I've enjoyed life after!! The pain was minimal, and the results have been life changing. I finally feel so much better and I'm ready to move on with my band to sleeve revision and get myself healthy!!! Good luck!! I definitely say it's worth the minimal pain. If you need it, it really will make life so much better!!
  8. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on this, but it's your life. Don't let ANYONE bully you into a choice, them or us!! If my entire support system was begging me to wait and offering to help in any way they could for an alternative, I would wait as well. This surgery is a huge life change and the transition will be so much easier when your support people have your back. Hopefully you can find some other options that will work for all of you. I am self pay in MX, but I know on the self pay boards, some people have talked about self pay in the states closer to only $10K. I recall one specifically in Las Vegas and remember some in the south as well. Perhaps your parents would help with the difference and keep you in the country since that seems to be their main objection. Best of luck!!!

    SURGERIES IN MAY!

May 11th Band to Sleeve Revision Dr. Garcia, TJ HW: 269 CW: 240 SW (goal): 230 at least GW: 150
  10. Wow!! Dean is right... and I AM jealous You look fantastic. With the weight loss in your face, you look like a different person!! Absolutely stunning! And I don't think I've ever commented on a before and after picture, just "liked" or admired from afar lol, but I felt compelled to gush this time!! Definitely the hot one!
  11. Oh Kristina! I am so happy for you! I have been researching and trying for 3 years to switch from my lap band to the sleeve! I have been banded for 10 years now and at times have felt so badly that I just was meant to live life as a fat woman. I have battled insurance and only came to brick wall contract exclusions. Starting a year ago, I decided on Mexico and even picked a surgeon, but we live on one income while I stay home with our young kids. So 2 months ago, decided it was time to get healthy, no matter what it took!! I saved, begged & borrowed and came with the money and scheduled for May 11th. After 10 years and a roller coaster of weight issues stemming back almost 20 years, it is finally time and I have 100% faith that this is my time and I couldn't be more excited. You are so very right!! NEVER give up hope!!!

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

Yes, initially I lost 100lbs. Then had a slip and erosion which ended in removal. After getting my band replaced a year later (after gaining all my weight back), my second band just never worked like my first one did. Took me a long time to decide on revision and waited a few years while I had my children, but I am finally ready and can't wait! Good luck to you!!!

Aunt Flo has long outstayed her welcome!

That sounds like my cycle in the 9 months before my hysterectomy. :-/ I would take to your GYN about, if you're on the pill, you may need to switch to a different one, or if you're not on one, maybe consider starting to get it controlled. Due to a clotting disorder, I couldn't use hormonal BC and ended up with the hysterectomy after an ablation failed. Usually if its not just a temp thing caused my surgery, a GYN can get it under control with a hormonal BC! good luck. I know that sucks!!!
  16. Yes, the doctor will be removing my band and then perform the sleeve surgery. Hopefully it can all be completed in one surgery. I'm very ready to have my band out and get sleeved!
  17. Yes. But I am having a revision to the sleeve on May 11th!!!
  18. Oh good!!! You had me worried for a minute!! I really don't think they would see it. I have a lap band and it was in place during both of my pregnancies. I had quite a few ultrasounds with each baby, and even with having a foreign object in my body they didn't see it on ultrasound (or at least never said anything or asked me about it)! I think you'll be fine and they won't even notice!
  19. Well they could see it, I just don't know that they'll be looking. BUT, way more importantly, I completely understand wanting to keep your surgery private, but you need to disclose your surgery to your doctors. It is an important part of your anatomy now and can effect more aspects of your health than you might realize. When pregnant, it's VERY important for both your health and the health of your baby that the doctor know you've had weight loss surgery. If you don't want the technicians to know, they likely wouldn't see it and you don't have to mention it to them, but your doctor NEEDS to know.
  20. I know we already chatted quickly, but we'll be there at the same time! It will be nice meet you down there I arrive on May 10 for surgery on May 11th also with Dr. Garcia!!!

    NSVs!

Congratulations!! I know the feeling about the airplane seats. I always feel self conscious that the person next to me will think I should have been ordered to get two seats. I have to squeeze in, and though the belt still fits me (well, last I flew it did lol and that was 20 pounds ago), it has to be fully extended and it's not comfortable. So I really feel your excitement on the plane!! And I think shopping in the regular sections will be my favorite NSV once I get there. I'm a 29 year old mother... It seems like all the plus size clothes come in two styles: young party/clubbing clothes and old lady clothes! Lol I will be so glad to have more options!!! Congratulations!!! What awesome victories!!

Tummy Tuck and 40 year old virgin

We have seen this movie so many times, but everytime we happen to watch it again, both my brother and I end up laughing out loud though the whole thing, and then quote lines from it for days!! Lol Congrats on the tummy tuck, but maybe a dramatic movie next time
