    Shocking TLBC news

Nesrene told me that she is an interior decorator. She also said she more often than not worked 10 to 12 hour days at the clinic..That can be exhausting to say the least. I really liked her. Today someone called Darryl called me and went over my forms regarding allergies, surgeries etc, I actually asked her why since I went over that stuff with Nesrene when I was there. She said she was supposed to call.

Susan Silver - I have just spoken to tlbc and they said NO egg whites, eggbeaters etc. Only Jello, yoghurt, cottage cheese and the other liquids stated on the sheet. She said if you are desperate you can have some chicken. Now I don't feel so bad. This morning I had 2 yoghurts with my coffee so it felt more like Breakfast. I will do the same at lunch and I think my brain might think it is a real meal if I drug myself heavily!!!! Have a great day

While I was away on vacation last week I didn't drink any pop so as to ween myself from it. I see it in the fridge and fight to resist it. They say at TLBS says it could be difficult on the new tummy. The papers say cristal lite but not pop

Thanks Susan I will call Nesrene, confirm and let you know. Wouldl it be eggbeaters that you bought. I haven't actually planned anything in particular for meals. I thought I would go with hunger pangs. I have only had one cup of coffee so far today but I will probably have a yoghurt shortly.

Hi Susan No where did I read in my folder from TLBC that you are allowed to eat egg whites. If I knew how to work the scanner I could send you the sheet. If you have a fax machine I could send it that way. You could send a private message if you don't want to post it here. My email is dilumi@rogers.com

Today is day one of the pre-op diet. Yogurt, jello, water....you TLBCers know the ropes. I had the runs yesterday and feel great this morning, actually weighed 2.5 pounds less. Now now, don't be thinking I am full of sh#*. Well, even if I was, I am not now. I am just enjoying my morning coffee and hopefully this won't be too rough. I am all stocked up for the pre diet and have a long list to pick up for the post. I am going to ask my daughter to hide the scale because I know I will be fanatical about weighing myself. I think this morning and the weigh in on the surgery date should be good enough. Do you guys weigh weekly, monthly or always? Talk to you soon, Donna
  13. I'm sending tons of good wishes. I think we both made the right decision. See you on the other side

    Omg - I Am Booked

How is this for anxious....:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: My consult with Nisrene at TLBC if on April 13th and because I don't want to waste any time whatsoever, I called her this am to ask if I could book the surgery now as I feel so well informed etc especially from my very very informative friends here, she agreed and I will be banded on April 26th. She said that I will need 7 to 10 days for the pre op diet so that was the soonest. I am freeeaaaaaakiiiiinggggg out!!!!! I feel so ready for this. I know I can lose the wait but I cannot keep it off. Each time I lose I gain back even more. I have reached 205 which I didn't even weigh when I delivered my first child. I am off to San Andres Island tomorrow for one week but I look forward to talking with you guys soon. Thank you again, all of you for your inspiration, courage and support D

    Omg - I Am Booked

Thanks everyone. I forgot to check this thread. I think I posted elsewhere about eating many last suppers on my trip. I was fabulous there. Very poor island but the people were wonderful. I am starting pre-op diet on Monday and am having withdrawal symptoms. I am trying to remember all the things I want to eat before the day is out. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement
  18. Robgoblin - I notice that you are scheduled for TLBC. Did you ever have a consult with Dr. Tin? I haven't even heard from there office yet to make an appt to see him directly. I certainly didn't get that warm and fuzzy feeling there that I did from TLBC. I recall that you are from out of town. TLBC is a great place. Sitting in the waiting room is very educational. Since they only do this surgery everyone there is in the same boat. No shyness or big neon sign on the door outside ( Toronto C.C. had a huge sign) I feel really good about not going to TCC. I think you will too. Best of Luck

No, I will be attending the seminar on April 23rd. I booked my surgery at the same time as I booked my consult. I was going to be on vacation and I didn't want to wait any longer for the surgery. What was the seminar about?
  21. Met Nesrene today at TLBC. :clap2: She is, as many of you stated, beautiful and really open about her own surgery. Let me say first off that the building itself is very discreet. I actually thought it would have a big sign outside blaring out TORONTO LAPBAND CENTRE:eek: . I let them know i appreciated that. There was one lady in the waiting room and I just started to ask her questions and she was very willing to share info with me. When she went for her fill, a husband wife team came in and were equally willing to share info. What a great place. We were all in the same boat. We were finishing each others sentences. Soon after a lady came in from Virginia USA. She made me realize how lucky I was to live so close to the clinic. After seeing Nesrene I met with Dr. Yau. He sure does look young!! Wow is he great. He actually said that we were going to have a long relationship and that he wanted me to come in whenever I felt I needed to even if it was to sit with the people in the waiting room as he said they are a great source of inspiration and information. That is a compliment to all of you that go there in case he never had the opportunity to say it directly to you. He made me feel so comfortable. I start my pre-op on Monday and will have my surgery on April 26th at 1:00 pm. I will have a big steak on Sunday and a big crusty bun because it sounds like they are the most difficult things to get down. I left a note in "What's wrong with me" asking for some idea of what a typical day of food would be:hungry: . I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me some info. Thanks for all your great support, advise and inspiration. You are all so willing to share your feelings and I am truly grateful. p.s. I will be having surgery on my aaahhhh "ulcer":D, yeah that's it..... Donna D

    I told you so...

    Great idea!

    I told you so...

Is that base reference thing something everybody does before surgery? I had my consult today at TLBC and nobody mentioned it. Does it have to be done at a gym? Where else can you go?

    What's wrong with me???

:help: I can't believe this. I have just come back from an all inclusive vacation wherein I felt every meal was my last. I am having my consult today but I have already booked my surgery at TLBC for April 26....not too anxious huh! Everything I ate made me think that I may never eat this again, am I doing the right thing.....but then my daughter showed me her digital pics on the screen and I am soooo big. Way bigger than I thought. I have to do this whatever the sacrifice. I actually didn't think I looked that bad.:faint: Boy was I mistaken. I am glad these last supper feelings are normal. I would really love to hear from you bandsters what a typical days food intake would be.:hungry: Like what do you have for breakfast - how much , Snacks, lunch, dinner etc.. I am talking after the healing of course. Just to sort of put my mind at ease. Don't be shy, spit it out...not literally though...
