  1. That sounds like a drag. Has anyone else had trouble finding the port. God mine almost sticks out. He placed it right where my bra lands in a sit down position. Big melons here. It is rather uncomfortable.

    May Goals

Well, since I am newly banded, I think I will try to stay with the post-op diet as best as I can. To be honest, I am going to my cottage for about a week this Thursday and I thought I might try a little popcorn. I'm on full fluids. Is that suicidal or what? NO NO NO May Goal - stick to the rest of my post-op diet till the end of may.

    My Day has come !

Hi Yasmina, I ordered this stuff and shipping is a straight $5.00 anywhere in Canada and it arrived in 2 days. I will try it tomorrow for the first time. I ordered a sample fox of 5 or 6 of both vanilla and choloclate. I'll let you know tomorrow.

    My Day has come !

Yes I was banded last Thursday at TLBC. I took only one demerol the nite of and that's it. I felt a pulling feeling when I tried to stand straight but thats gone now. I have a heaviness in my chest and Nancy at the clinic said to take several deep breaths and hold it for 10 seconds every hour. I started that at 5 today and I think I'm feeling better. She says it is normal so that's good. I feel pretty good. Tomorrow I'm on full fluids:clap2: , I already cheated and had a yoghurt just now. Went down real smooth and yummy.

Don't do it robgoblin. I think its better to have plain chicken breast than that. It is still high in protein and better for you salt wise. Just a few days left buddy, hang in there. I promise you it is the worst part.

Glad to hear the fill went well Doddie. I did get a call back from Nancy the Nurse and she said the heaviness I felt in my chest was normal and she wanted me to take very deep breaths and hold them for 10 seconds then blow out - do this 5 times per hour. She also said when I go on Full fluids - hip hip hurray - this will help it go away in about 2 days. I did this exercises (pretty easy - wish they were all like that- and I feel better already. I am going to my cottage Wednesday for about a week....for recuperation purposes only.......so I want to wish Susansilver, Cat, Jurema, Mr. Yoda, robgoblin and whoever else is going under on May 2nd and 4th all the very best for an easy ride. I wll see you on the other side. xo

    Interested but many questions

I can't see how you could get around your husband with this. It is always best to stay on the up and up. I think he will come around. He may freak out at first but when you tell him your health will improve, you will feel sexier......you get my drift?

Left a message for Nancy at TLBC to ask about this feeling in my chest. Still there today. I am burping and f@#$%ing like a trucker. I am doing some walking and it sure does get things moving. Tomorrow is my full Fluid day. I can hardly wait, yummy yoghurt (never thought I'd say that after pre-op), milk in my tea and coffee, creamy Soups. I think I'm in heaven. Doddie- how did your fill go. Are you losing better now. Thanks for all your info. I love you guys. I couldn't ask for more. Well, wait a minute, do you like to donate to charity, hmmmmmmmm

How many carbs are in the bar. Remember they turn into sugar and kinda defeat the purpose. The flavours sure do sound yummy!

Thanks Yoda, When I place my hand over my port it is sensitive and bruised. When I touch the incision near it I feel nothing. When I try to take a deep breath, it is difficult to do and everything from my neckline to my belly button feels tight. Is that what you felt?
  14. Welcome back Yoda. While you were away I was banded. Surgery and recovery were a breeze. I only took one demerol the nite of and nothing since. Today I am walking straight and tall. I do burp an awful lot. Is that normal. I should say BELCH. The Mr. sure did miss you. I admire you two. That kind of relationship is hard to find. Hmmm, maybe you should get some of that hard before B-day.

thanks everyone. Yes Doddie, the chicken soup is good but it gave me the runs. Thought it was gas oooooooohhhhhhh hurry, hurry...you get my drift. I am feeling hungry. I actually would like some yoghurt. I always have this heavy feeling in between my boobs where I think my big cut is. The cut does feel sensitive but it's inside that feel weird. I can't take deep breaths cuz it hurts. Is that my new pouch or is it gas?

    All Pre-Op Dieters...Check In!

It is very important to maintain your regular pattern of eating. Remember you are trying to start a healthy way of eating post banding. I lived on the yoghurt and jello because I couldn't look at the CC. Eat 3, 4 or 5 yoghurt for each meal if you want. Snack with the jello. If you really need it you can have some boiled or baked chicken. You must eat though. After all this time you don't want them to cancel your surgery do you.

Hi everyone. Well I have graduated to the other side. I actually feel really good. I am a bit nervous to stand up straight but I think that's just in my head. I slept on and off during the night. I was able to get in and out of bed by myself. I did get those left shoulder pains that were talked about somewhere in here but I just walked around a bit, released some aaahhh you know "air" took a Gas X and it went away. I had a lovely cup of camomille tea with my crushed meds. yuck. I must remember that I can only take small sips now. I really have to catch myself. So far so good. Things can only get better from here. Thanks for all your well wishes, you really are a fantastic bunch.

    Any word on Donna D?

I can confirm that. Surgery went fine. I slept well. I got up by myself and felt left shouler pain and remembered you guys saying that was gas so I had a few Gas X - worked great. I am not experiencing any pain whatsoever. I am now officially on the other side. PS They treat you great at TLBC. I'm so glad I chose to go there. Thanks for all your well wishes.

    Delicious Protein Bars

The nutritionist said that it is important to also check the amount of carbs. If they are high it isn't worth eating.

    Very Emotional Today

Hi guys, sorry you had rough days. Seriously yoghurt is sooo yummy. I ate at least 3 for Breakfast, 4 or 5 for lunch and another 4 or 5 at dinner. I even had Jello for a snack. I put vanilla yoghurt in the middle of the plate and then I put little pieces of jello all around it - quite pretty and you scoop a little yoghurt with every piece of jello. Now doesn't that sound absolutely delicious!!!! WORK WITH ME HERE. You can do it. Suck in those cheeks, shoulders back, tummy in and check out you gorgeous self in the mirror. Love and kisses, I will change sides at 1:00 pm today but I'm still with you. You could say I've been on both sides soon........

or should I say last big day. Either way, this is it. I have my surgery at 1pm. I am pretty calm. I do miss my morning coffee. My mother is pacing back and forth, poor thing, she is more nervous than me. Thank you for all your kind words and wishes. I was freaking out a bit on Monday nite but I'm good now. I was a pleasure to meet Jurema and Doddie at the seminar. Doddie you have the most beautiful smile and the warmest heart. Thanks for the big squeeze. Next time you have to come to Toronto you can stay with me. I'm leaving soon...................I'll see you on the other side:scared: xoxox

    TLBC-ers, help me out!

Susansilver - I met Jurema and Doddie. Doddie already has her band. She showed me her incisions and I felt the port under the skin. It was neat. She came all the way from Vancouver for her first fill. Jurema is being banded on May 4th. Isn't that your day as well? Both very nice ladies. Doddie is hilarious. Seminar was very informative. Kinda scared me into the realization that I will never eat a lot at one sitting anymore. That does make me sad

    DonnaD's countdown

Last nite I went to the TLBC pre surgery seminar. There was a nutritionist there. She was very informative about what to eat, how to eat. During her speech I had an internal Freak Out. I started thinking about how this will never end. At least when I was on a diet I knew I would reach my goal and then life would be normal again and I could eat again. OOOOHHHHH yeah, that's how I gained all the weight plus back. Well I didn't think of that last nite. I just thought that I'll never be able to enjoy all that food at an Italian wedding, no more Mandarin all you can eat buffet or any buffet for that matter!! I was seriously sick about it. I'm not even sure how I feel about it today. I told my kids and they think I'm taking things too far with this surgery maybe. I know it is the best thing for me. I will never be able to lose and keep it off on my own. Oh I'm just going on babbling. I haven't changed my mind and I go under this Thursday. Well, I had a nice run at all that great food and junk and no looking back now. I know how much happier I will be when I am thin again. I really am a different person. Maybe I will buy another motorcyle. I sold the last one cause I had to lean over and my ass looked BAD when I put on weight. I am so much more confident, and I really do miss the energy I had. Well, I feel better now, have a nice day:D

    TLBC-ers, help me out!

Mandi - I went to TLBC seminar last nite and they said the purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver only. She said that the one year mark is hard for lapsters. They often plateau. I thought of you. She said to make sure your portions are correct. After a time, we tend to increase without realizing. She said to change up your exercise routine and that should help.
