  1. Surgery was about 2 1/2 weeks ago(4/8), my abdomen is very tender to the touch. It was feeling great and starting yesterday it's been very tender. I have been lifting a little more the past couple days since I'm now by myself to care for my kids. Not sure if this is normal or something I should worry about. Anyone else feeling tender/sore still?

  2. I can't believe the day has finally come. I have never felt so much emotion as I have through this process. It's crazy how you can be so excited yet so scared all for the same reason!! I'm grateful for all the support I have received from my husband and others but still feel some sort of way that my father is not on board with this. I can't get it out of my mind. My husband and mother will be with me at the hospital while my aunt takes care of my 2 & 3 year old. I'm only in overnight as long as there are no complications. I'm so ready for this life change! I'm ready to be the mom I want to be! I know I don't write often but I do read everything and I'm so very thankful for all the information I get! I wish everyone else tomorrow good luck!! See you all on the losers bench my friends!!

  3. I wasn't put on any meds but was put on a liquid diet to help with losing weight so I could get on the schedule. I had to quit smoking and it was horrible!! I gained atleast 20lbs. I had to lose that plus half of the 5% the surgeon wanted me to lose before I could be scheduled. I went for a weight check today and to my surprise I made it! I am now scheduled for April 8th!! I know what your going through, hang in there!! Hoping you get a date soon!!

  4. Met with the surgeon for the first time on December, 27... He wants me to get the gastric bypass instead if the sleeve. I did me research, read a lot on here, my mom(& 2 uncles) had gastric bypass 10 years ago, and a friend at work was sleeved 5 months ago so I know a lot about both. I just can't seem to be able to get over the re routing of the intestines part. I have bad acid reflux/ heartburn and that was one of the doctors reasons for wanting to do the bypass instead. He did say it was my choice and he would do either but now I'm torn and don't know which to do???

  5. I was going to go to LVH but my work and child care schedule wouldn't allow me to attend all the pre op meetings required. So I decided to go to St Luke's which worked out just great. Had the same anesthesiologist as when I had my daughter so I was thrilled. Loved her! I would love to compare notes on the two hospitals.

I just started the process with St. Luke's after finding out my insurance required I go to a center of excellence. With my work schedule and kids it was easy to do the online seminar to get the intake started. Now I wait for a phone to schedule my first appointment! How long did it take before you got a date?
