I have tried a scrambled egg, tuna, fish and sweet potato. So far so good!! Sleeved handled all really well!!
-
I ate a scrambled egg for the first food I tried. Just chew it really well and take your time. I still struggle with this and I've been eating soft foods for almost 3 weeks now. I was used to eating really fast Pre-surgery! I got horrible "slimes" from eating eggs too fast in my first week. The slimes were miserable and luckily I've never experienced it since! How far out were you when you started eating food?
-
Thank you!! I called my dr and his nurse told me that he likes for us to wait 4 weeks. I told her that I had done really well on every thing so far and was ready to try something else, she told me he liked for us to wait but I wanted to try I could but if it didnt go good to go back to what I am doing! I ready but really nervous!

So when did everyone start eating some food that you actually have to chew?? Also what foods did you start with and how did your sleeve handle it? I am 3 weeks out and am still on liquids, creamy soup(no chunks), sf pudding, yogurt(no fruit) and Protein shakes! I am sick of this stage and am so ready for something different!

I had surgery on 03/14/13 and everyone have been telling me that I'm slimming down except I just can't see it. I know I do feel better with the exception of lower back pain. Well I finally got on the scale today for the first time since surgery and my motivation has been renewed:) I've lost 55 plus lbs:)Awesome!!!! You are doing great! Congrats!

Lol. I was thinking the same thing! I love our fb page!Sorry guys!! Hard for me to get on here now that I have started back to work!!

When were you sleeved? I am 4 weeks post op and since I have been doing more after my 2 week visit - went back to work this week' date=' I have been having pain there also. Yesterday I wore my abdominal binder to work and felt pretty good for the first day back, today I didn't put it on until 5 1/2 hours into my day and I could tell the difference I was feeling pain.[/quote']
I was sleeved on march 27th! I went back to wrk friday. Maybe I should try my binder tomorrow!

Ok question for you fellow March sleevers.....
I have been having more pain that usual from my largest incision
that they removed my stomach from!! It is almost a stabbing pain at times.
I may have just pulled something and it is really tender but I have no
idea. anyone else experienced this?

That.was sat for me. I. Having diarrhea doc.told me eat more cheese.. Hang in there.... We can and.will do this!!!! how was work?
Work was good....just was really tired when I got home!! Glad to kinda be back in a routine!!

I've had many of those blah days. They suck. Here's the good news - it WILL get better. Hang in there!
There will surely be more days when nothing tastes good and you just feel crappy, but with each new week it gets a little easier. You are just having a normal recovery period:) The Constipation sucks too. I think we all have it from time to time. There's Milk of Magnesia, Miralax, more Fiber etc. Personally I take a couple of laxatives in pill from. Many people will say the pills are a bad choice and could cause problems. Maybe so and maybe not. I've had no problems.
You can check with your Dr for suggestions or just make your own choice. You are having perfectly normal feelings:)
Thank you!! Glad to know that it isn't just me or something wrong!!
I am feeling better today Thank goodness!!

Doing much better.... Learning every day what I can and.can't have. How about yourself?I am doing pretty good!! I have had a rough day bc my tummy just didnt want anything today! I wasn't nauseous, just nothing tasted good! I am also having some trouble with Constipation. Today was my first full day back at work so I am worn out!
-
Almost 2 weeks out and Sat was nOt a good food.day.. threw up all afternoon. .. Today has been so much better!! I think my drinking is the issue... To much at one time....How are you doing??

Good luck tomorrow!!!!! I will say a Lil prayer for ya!!!

I'm so nervous about my surgery tomorrow! I'm excited but nervous at the same time. I'm just worried about the pain I think but I have a pretty high pain tolerance... This is the first surgery I've ever had and I'm freaking out!Can anyone tell me a little about the pain factor? I know it's different for everyone but I'd love to hear everyone's experience.
Also' date=' how long did the worst pain and nausea occur? I've heard a couple days but has anyone experienced anything different?
Thanks for all of your replies!![/quote']
I too have a high tolerance for pain and to me the surgery was very easy! The third day after surgery was prolly the worst day for me bc of all the gas but it passed! Just get up and walk walk walk as soon as they will let you, it will help so much with the gas!!
-
It's normal and will pass. Your brain is remembering your old way of eating. Be sure to drink your Protein and Water even if you don't want it to stay strong and keep your body from going into starvation mode. When the weight starts falling off' date=' you won't miss it! = D[/quote']
Ok thank you!!! I keep think oh no what is going wrong!! Scared me a Lil!
Also I haven't pooped in days! What can we take for this?
-
I am having a tough time today!! I feel like crap and absolutely nothing tastes good today. I haven't been able to eat hardly anything today at all!! Has anyone else experienced this?? Just a blah day!!

How are you doing??
My dr add yogurt, sugar free pudding, applesauce, creamy Soups and Protein shakes to my liquid diet when I went on Thursday! I don't go back to see him until May 2 so I have to keep doing this until I go back.....and I think at that point he adds grilled fish, tuna and that type stuff but not sure!!! Seems so far away!! LOL!
I am doing good on this stage of the diet! No nausea at all!!
What all can you have on the purée stage? When was your surgery again! I forgot! Lol!
-
At what week did your doctors put you on puréed foods?
Glad to see you all are doing good!! I haven't been on here in a day or so, so I am trying to catch up!!!
