don't sweat the small stuff. You've come this far so you should do fine. I think the majority of us Banders were apprehensive at first. 18 months later and all the worrying and nerves were for nothing. I'm happy I did it. I'm not a fast loser but slow and steady wins the race so don't worry and best of luck to you!I am a week away from my surgery and I am both nervous and excited. I pray I have as much success and most of you have had, it is good and uplifting reading your success stories.

Congratulations on your awesome success!

Wow Jack! Great loss! Where did you have your band done because my doctor says they don't make the 4cc band anymore. My band is a 10 and I think they go as high as 14cc?

Ok, then I should have given up too! I was banded 12/38/2012! 3 days after Christmas! It was hard with all the parties and festivities around me! Did I cheat during my pre-op diet? You bet your sweet bibby I did! I was careful but I did cheat! Did I want to give up? I thought about it because everyone kept telling me they were going to start their diets on Jan 1st! I was saying that my whole lifetime! So, I stuck to my guns with an occasional cheat here and there and I still had my surgery on 12/28! Best decision I ever made! Otherwise I would have been on the same cycle, I'll start my diet after the holidays, I'll start it tomorrow, I'll start it next week or I'll start on Monday! Sound familiar? Please don't give up because you had one slip up! We all slip! Deep the faith and keep that appointment. Good luck to you!

Don't worry, your friend is not sabotaging you. I think she thinks she may lose you as a friend. There are always compromises that can be made on both sides of the fence.
I'm sure it will all work out and good luck to you!

I've been smelling the roses for 18 months now! I am a very slow loser but have lost. My ultimate goal is to lose 60 more pounds.i don't care how long it takes as long as I'm following the rules I'll eventually get there! The good news is that I've kept off the weight I have already lost (that's major for me!)I am wondering what I should expect for my 1 year bandiversary? Should I be at my goal?
Don't worry, you will get there and don't give yourself a time limit. If I have myself a time restraint I would have given up all together. Congratulations on your surgery and good luck to you!

hey Kitt, I loved your analogy! That was awesome! Thanks! You may be there, and you may not. As long as YOU know you are working within the given guidelines , you can't control (or wish away) the excess weight. This is a lifestyle change. Think about it like this, sometimes roads are straight from point "a" to point "b", sometimes there are curves in the road, lower speed limits and detours, still, you can get from point "a" to point"b". You will get there, so why not enjoy the scenery along the way, stop at a rest stop, check out the scenic overlook and historical markers? :-)

ooh that makes me do mad! My PCP gives me a hard time and keeps telling me that my lapband is a failure because I have not lost enough weight post op. He's right, I've lost over 60 lbs in 18 months. I can't exercise that much as I do have disabilities. I consider myself grateful for losing this much and keeping it off.Went to see a dr about my knees and his first questions was... omg, you must eat ALOT, how much so you eat?!. I almost broke down into tears right there but I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. Anyone have any problems like this?
Don't let that Dr get you down, you doing something for you and Don 't take any guff from that doctor or change doctors!

I just went through the same thing with the explosive diarrhea and gas. It was awful! Anyway, yesterday ALL DAY, I did not have anything solid to eat. I had chicken broth, tea and sugar free Jello. I also took Pepto Bismol eventhough it contains a salyciate (spelling?), so if you're allergic to aspirin try Imodium extra strength. It took 24 hours but today I had toast and tea. At lunch I had toast with almond butter and tea. I'm feeling much better now. Btw, I'm coffee addict and when I get bouts like that I don't touch coffee. I'm looking forward to a cup tomorrow morning. I drink two cups in the morning.

Well whomever said that is misinformed for sure. I have 3 friends who had RNy and they certainly don't take Vitamins every two hours. Sorry you had to vent but I feel your pain and frustration. I don't know anything about that surgery other than the fact. 3 friends of mine had it.

Don't thank us Alex,
Thank you! You started this and without it where would we be? It was sad to see some old faithfuls leave the board but with your help and support they got what they needed and left. Maybe someday they 'll just check in to say hi!
Happy Anniversary to BPS! Growing in leaps and bounds as we support each other to lose the pounds!

Sharpie!
Good news!
It will leave either from Pt Canaveral with a pre-cruise hotel stay or from Miami but have not been able to negotiate a pre-cruise from Miami. The Port of Miami allows drop off shuttles but to be picked up shuttles are charged an exorbitant fee. Pt Canaveral is easier to negotiate. So most likely Pt Canaveral. PMme with your e-mail address. Thanks! Yes, I would love to meet everyone else too!

right on! It took me 18 months to just start getting into the green zone, I thought it would never happen! Yes, I get very frustrated because my weight loss has been slow but I'm going to be a little more patient. Hopefully, I'll start losing more weight now that I'm in the green zone.@@Mikee57 your doing great my friend! We always want to push ourselves harder and lose faster, but just know that all the weight you have lost this time unlike WW you will be able to keep it off and not gain it back. The scales are moving in the right direction and as they all said above the numbers do add up in the right kind of way!! It took me a little over a year now to get into that green zone, and I just have a tip toe in there. I don't want to be too tight that I can't enjoy life, but have enough restriction that I am able to activate my band with solid foods and feel satisfied. You have so much going on, and your doing amazing!

well Jack, not sure how this will affect you being you don't fly or sail, but if I hear of anything on land I'll let you know!despite it sounding like fun & educational, I don't cruise & I don't fly to get to where I could cruise from. If there are wheels that don't leave the ground, I might consider some such activity.
