I told my daughter, who is 9 years old. She told everyone she came in contact with!! My surgery is not a secret, most all people know, but she would make me upset when she would just blurt it out, out of nowhere. I know she's excited about me losing weight, and she says she's gonna eat what I eat and be healthy too (she is extremely thin) but I told her to stop talking about it, only to her aunt and cousins if she wanted to, she hasn't mentioned it anymore

Some people are not allowed to have a small meal, some docs don't even require a pre-op diet, some require a few days or a week, everyone is different..I on the other hand am allowed a small meal, I choose to have my dinner meal, because I don't eat lunch, because I'm sleeping during the day cause I work nights, so as soon as I wake up, I eat a small meal, then around 10pm I have my last shake. But also I'm allowed unlimited veggies, FF broth, and sugar free Jello..so it hasn't been bad at all, I'm on day 7 of my 2 week diet

Good luck!! I'm having surgery on the 26th too, but Ive been on liquid diet since the 12th it's going way better than expected!! I can have one small meal, and 2 Protein Shakes, but unlimited veggies, chicken broth, and jello..which is why its going ok lol, so I'm glad for that!! Haha

Hey tdh78, started my liquid diet today too!! I'm also being banded on the 26th!! Yay for us!! 2 weeks of H**L! But like everyone says, it's ALL totally worth it!! We should keep in touch!

I am on a very tight budget right now, so I need some help on cheap protein shakes. Wal-mart? Costco? Do any of you use any from those places? If so, which ones do you recommend? I'd like to use the powered ones. I think they are of more quantity, compared to the ready made?? Please help..

Why only the little sips of water when banded? I drink A LOT of water, and fast too, so I'm really going to need to work on that..but if it goes right through, why only little sips at a time?

Has anyone had Dr. Hooman Shabatian? He is located in Tarzana. I am traveling 2 hours to see him, and for all my pre-op testing. I'm not complaining..I think he is awesome! He and his staff could not have treated me any better. I felt like a queen!! If you've had him, how was your experience with him after surgery?? Any info is greatly appreciated..

When I was having my ultra sound done, the doc told me I have gallstones. Nothing hurts/bothers me at this time. Is this something my LB surgeon con remove? Should it be removed? Or is it a totally different doc who has to do it? Just curious, since he's already going in..

I just got MFP not to long ago, so I have no friends added for support. I'm not banded yet or even on my pre-op liquid diet lol but started using it to try and lose a little weight myself..it won't let me add friends by just using their user name, only by e-mail.
