  1. Not that I'm any where near maintenance yet, I'm about 4 weeks out and 50 lbs down from the start. But I have done this before went from 290 to 220 and then ever so slowly back up to 300+. Then down down 40 and up 30, countless times. I hope this surgery will enable me to keep control of these fluctuations. I've always worked out to some degree my problem has been Portion Control. I guess time will tell how I do. Is anyone else concerned about how they will do once they reach goal?

  2. I'm 3 weeks out, and for me its the same as I was pre-op I get up maybe once a night. Sometimes if I get my Water in early enough I wont get up at all. I use a CPAP, and it was explained to me if you don't get to REM sleep your kidneys continue to work and you have to get up and go more often. I have never had pain going.

  3. I know I felt the same way, I was sleeved in March 4th, what I did was go to my happy place as often as needed. As soon as the bad thoughts would creep in, off I would go to the boat fishing on a warm summer day listening to a Tiger ball game, sometimes I would even catch a fish... It will work out for you just let it you'll be fine.

  4. Im sure there will be those who say he is just feeling insecure but personnaly, that kind of comment is made to degrade you. I dont care if he is insecure - there is no excuse for that kind of hatefulness. It is totally self-centered and was meant to hurt you. Please dont let him get by with that behavior. You deserve better....either by him or someone new.

    Ya, dump the looser!!!

  5. Same story for me I was sleeved on March 4th about 10 days out right side started hurting with every movement, that's the side where they took out my stomach. At my 2 week post-op appointment and my surgeon said the same thing, it will be tender for 6 weeks or more. My job is very physical he gave me another week off for a total of 5 weeks and said to call if I need more.

  6. YES!! And at almost 2 weeks out it happened to me out of nowhere. I had to call md at night n Doc said the main stitching inside is right there. It's healing and as you're losing weight it's pulling too. It was horrible, I couldn't bend down or walk straight up. Take pain med and use heating pad. Was better 12 hours later.

Thanks that a bit of a relief I was a little worried other than that its been smooth sailing. I could hardily get out of bet this mourning.

  7. I was sleeved on March 4th and I,m feeling good the only time I hurt is when I bend over with pants around my waist, if I pull the pants down the pain is much less. The pain is on the right side above the belly button. Is anyone else having this type of pain? I see my doc on Wednesday I'll be sure and ask him.

  8. I was walking a couple of hours after surgery on March 4th, I walked around the block first day home. Two miles around the neighborhood two days later. The weather turned bad so I went to my gym and tried walking on a treadmill, I hate the treadmill, so I jumped on an elliptical and went for 35 minutes and have been going every day since, 45 to 60 minutes fairly hard HR around 150. I worked out hard before the procedure figuring I'd have a head start after I had it. So far so good...

  9. How do you cope with cooking for your family especially while only on liquids? I've just started the process & am nervous about when it's time to go on liquids. I don't have a surgery date yet. How will I cook for my family & then just sit & drink my dinner? Please tell me how you handled this?

Will power is like a muscle the more you use it the stronger it gets...

  10. No c-section for me either ;-) my surgeon did the leak test durring the operation, the pain was not bad I took pain meds while in the hospital but none since I've home, 10 days post op. The best advice I can give you is to be in the best physical condition you can before you have the procedure it will make it all go so much better, at least it did for me, good luck
