leannel90 reacted to krzy4vt in I finally see it!!!!
I have been struggling with noticing the changes that come from weight loss. I have now lost 67lbs and still had trouble seeing it. Till now, I was looking at old vacation photos and saw how large my face was only 10mnths ago. I have only been banded for 6 months but this was an eye opener for me.

My story is identical to Leanne's - with the multiple pokes etc. even funnier as we were there at the same time except for the fact that because I had no Fluid in the band (they had taken out 4ccs during my "emergency" the first week) they put in 2ccs. I was worried enough to stay in a hotel (I live two hours away) tonight to make sure I'm fine after the fill, but so far, so good... just hard to find something to eat in a restaurant!!

My nurse couldn't find my port at first and then neither could my surgeon. They did locate it...after quite a few pokes...but they did say the first one is always the hardest. They were lovely to me...I had one cc put in and that should take me to about 4. Feeling full all day and loving it!!!!

I'm supposed to get my first fill tomorrow...kind of freaked out...but I am getting super hungry now. Perhaps just a little fill? We'll see what's decided tomorrow.

I get my first fill tomorrow too! I'm nervous. I know I need one because I'm able to eat anything and I take too big of bites. Hope it goes well for the both of us!

It is possible to have restriction without any fills. In fact, there's a number of people on these forums that have never had a fill and are still in the Green Zone.
However, it's very likely a lot of what you're feeling is both gas and swelling. Remember, your stomach has been manipulated and sutured. It's very swollen and it often can take weeks for it to totally subside.
I would enjoy the satiety while it's here but be mentally prepared in case you one day (soon) wake up starving hungry because the swelling has finally gone down.
    Best wishes

Definitely higher after the surgery! It was high beforehand, but it's definitely through the roof now. I guess I need to find a husband quick, lol.

Went for my first fill today. I had 5 cc's put in at surgery, and another 2 cc's today. They said the incisions looked great, and took me off of my blood pressure meds!! It feels great to be off of them! I've been on them for 2 years (I was 26!). Next stop C-Pap!

Off to a great start, SJIrish.
Hooghunt - glad they supplied you with plenty of pain meds... I've never heard of a morphine ball before! I assume it gives you regular doses of morphine...

Greetings all, I am almost 4 weeks post op now, and I still have some tenderness when I move a certain way. I had a minor infection in one of my incisions, (the one right under the port) and that was kind of setback.
I actually gained a bit of weight 2 pounds to be exact as the infection healed and the wound drained. It's amazingly strange how our bodies work. Once the infection cleared I lost the gained weight plus one more.
We are still in the mushy phase of food, though I confess we have moved forward to things like shredded baked chicken. We are both doing well hubby and I. I try not to do the comparison thing as he is losing weight rapidly. He's about 33 pounds down since pre-op diet. Gotta love men's ability to lose that weight!
Here I go though…long day at the office I've caught a cold everyone is SICK around me, and it's about 90 something degree's here in NY, but I am going to the gym! A mild stroll on the treadmill for about 20 minutes or so will save me from sitting in the 2 hour traffic pattern headed out East.
Best to you all! Enjoy the weekend.

I had the same when I would bend over I would fee really tight and if I did it too much the pain would last for a while. But I'm just under 3 weeks and no more problems like that. My port area gets a little sore when I lay different ways but that's it. I'm the toe to push myself too. I should be in tr mushy stage but I've been eating solids and chewing well all week with no issues. Everyone heals at different rates.
    Good job on the 12lbs!

Three days post-op I'm doing pretty good!! Didn't really have gas pains just a little in my shoulders. My port sight is sore but my other incisions are fine. I start full liquids tomorrow. I'm walking three times a day the neighborhood and just trying to get more Water in!!

    Thanks you all!
I purchased a charm Bracelet and add a charm for every 5 lbs lost. Some are sterling silver charms, some are pretty-but-cheap craft store beads, but they all serve as a visual reminder of where I have come from and points to the ultimate goal.
I'm approaching the big ONE HUNDRED POUNDS LOST milestone. Looking for a keepsake, but perhaps the mental and emotional satisfaction is more than sufficient.
