That stinks... I hope that you start feeling better!! I have felt great the past couple days' date=' so it might start getting better for you too!! But, there's no way I could have shoveled a bunch of snow when I felt weak. You are awesome!! Shoveling snow is a workout![/quote']Shovelling snow is ridiculous...tomorrow is May!!! I'm jealous that you were mowing the lawn!!
-
I hate this feeling. I have so much that I need to do and feel like crap/weak most of the time. I have finals at school right now' date=' work is crazy busy, had to stop mowing after I cut the front yard today because of feeling weak/lightheaded. This diet sucks. Hopefully this feeling goes away soon. I still have to mow the backyard, write a paper, go shopping for a B-Day party that I'm going to tomorrow and the most fun of all WORK Lol. Oh well, sorry for being so negative. Today is day 6 of pre-op diet, my dietician told me the weak feeling would only last a few days. I'm not finding this to be true....[/quote']Well now I know what you mean about feeling weak. Except...I had to shovel the driveway...it snowed like crazy here today!! Fitness pal now tells me that I should consume 1800 calories. Lol...

Leanne' date=' I'm so glad it is going well for you... holy moly, 9lb in one DAY!! That's what I was thinking I might lose in the whole two weeks, LOL. Good for youAnyway, for whatever reason, I wasn't told to start until today... and I hate to be a downer but I'm already not doing so great. I really didn't like the taste of the shake, and I found out it has aspartame in it which is an ingredient I have been avoiding for years. I have felt nauseous since I had it. I don't know how I will do this if I'm going to feel like I need to throw up all the time. I did email the nutritionist to see if there are other options... of course, whether or not I can find them in this small town will be another thing all together. So I guess I'll see what happens... I am feeling quite physically ill at the moment.[/quote']
Holy hell!!! There must be something different they can give you. You'll find something amazing...it'll be okay. I've been drinking aspartame in my pop nonstop for years so it doesn't bug me at all. Let me know if the nutritionist gets back to you...and if there's anything I can do to help. I mean anything. Can you live off the veggies until you hear something back?

I am totally amazed. Day 1 of preop was fantastic. I wasn't terribly hungry until supper and was able.to have two shakes. I didn't realize I'm allowed 4 a day. I've totally cut out my diet Dr pepper. This morning I had to check too and I lost 9 pounds!!!
I know its Water because I peed approximately 72 times yesterday (sorry for the tmi)...but who cares! I'm so excited to follow the plan now it doesn't matter. I also slept better than I have in months. I assume that's from refraining from all the caffeine in the evening.
What an excellent start to an already exciting journey!!

Good news! My dietician approved for me to eat a chicken breast with a non-starchy vegetable and a salad! I have found that being VERY precise with spacing my 5-6 meals and drinking drinking drinking (water) does help' date=' as well as having a couple ounces of juice If I feel shaky. I am halfway there and feeling motivated to keep pushing through! Thanks everyone! I went to my nephews birthday party yesterday and watched everyone eat burgers, hot dogs, baked Beans, potato salad, cake, ice cream etc... I drank my Water, BUT I actually felt pretty good. I felt in control. I wasn't sad or mad that I couldn't eat the food. I felt proud that I was able to politely say No thank you when I was offered cake, Cookies etc.. The pre-op diet isn't all bad, it definitely helps you realize how strong you can be!![/quote']Oh nice update Creekwood. Started my liquid preop today!! Thanks for the motivation.

With everyone talking about their mood on the preop diet (and my own personal fear) I am beginning to believe that I did hide my feelings with food. Regardless of what the mood is...happy...mad...sad...I used food to either Celebrate or drown out those emotions.
Perhaps the key is journaling or letting someone know how I'm feeling. Even if its on here...better than eating that feeling. Congrats to those of you that are recognizing that they're feeling grouchy or that this is really hard...and for posting it on here.

Its my birthday wknd & I'm soooo depressed. I can't eat any food or have a cocktail... I'm on day 12 of this pre op & I thought it would be easier as the days progress but IT GETS harder... especially since its my birthday.Happy Birthday...you can't be depressed on your birthday...cheer up and try to have a better day!

Thanks. I'm not on any Vitamins right now that's a good idea. When I get this feeling I'm allowed o have 2 oz. of juice to get quick carbs/sugar' date=' which seems to help. I'm just frustrated overall, but I knew it wouldn't be easy!Today is day 6 of 14, I'm halfway through this pre-op diet. My dietician said if you are really struggling with diet to email her and she approve a chicken breast or salad. I emailed her yesterday, still haven't heard anything. I'd cut off a finger to eat a chicken breast right now Lol[/quote']
Don't cut off a finger!! I thought of the lower energy thing too. Its going to suck...no doubt about it. One day at a time Creekwood...you've got this!! Think of all the lawns you can mow in two years...without getting winded or taking a breather!

Whatever you want to do will be fine. Extra liquids isn't going to be bad but you may want to check with the docs office real quick first. Good luck...and congrats on your surgery.

How exciting! Congrats!! I'm two days from preop diet and this is very motivating to get going!!

Oh creekwood...that's fantastic...well not the dogfood and chalk part...but the 7 lbs part is out of this world right?! Only today and tomorrow left of the old me. I'm busy holding a wake for the fat me. I can't wait to start eating like I'm skinny. The body I'm currently wearing is my past...time to start living!

This is great...shopping forprotein shakes in not something I'm used to. I have a ton of them left over from nutrisystem...I showed them to the nut and she said to go for it. so I'm going to use those up but I also bought some from costco that my nut asked me to buy. The day I went there they were taste testing them and I loved them. Premade in case I sleep in or something. Good luck all...

It'll be great to meet and I'm looking forward to learning more tomorrow. I don't even know what size of band we're getting or anything. I have lots of questions for tomorrow. Not during exercise therapy though. I better do a lot of listening in that particular class!!!

I arrive at 4pm tomorrow. I'm coming straight from work.

Today is better because I only have the burning skin and port discomfort. But when it's all at the same time I just want to cry. Last night I was in a lot of discomfort with port and skin and shoulder but I managed to fall asleep without any pain meds. thx for asking
Hope you feel better soon...hang in there!!

Oh my...you look fantastic!!!

It sounds like you need to speak with the nutritionist. I don't think you're eating enough though. Perhaps they'll add a meal for you? Keep trying...it certainly doesn't sound as though motivation is a problem for you...you can do it!!
