I think I will email Dr. Ortiz today and vent on him as well....I know it is up to me now.... I get that!!

I feel I have the right to me mad as hell !!

    any support would be great!!!

    thanks a bunch

    your friend,

    Francesca

  4. But for real, when people have arms or legs removed, they still feel the phantom for a period of time. You probably have a combo of both phantom plus the scar tissue. Plus your belly is healing now. Just keep up the good work, Miss Boop.

That is what I said to Dave just the other day. I really do feel that way. I still have restriction and I am going to use this to its fullest!! I am feeeling better, not 100% yet but I am getting there! I have a check up today.

oh and I weighted my self today. I have now lost 11 lbs. yahooooooooo

I am 193 I have not been this weight since I was in 9th grade. 20 years ago.

  5. as everyone knows my band was removed due to erosion on 11/28.

I know that my band is not there but it sure feels like it is.... This is weird! I have PBed everyday for a week and I can only eat a small amount. I have also lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks.. I have not lost any weight in months... My band is gone, now I am losing weight... what is up with that? Am I just loosing my mind?

  6. Just a quick update, I got my drain tubes and 40 staples out yesterday. I am feeling better but still in a lot of pain. I really am getting better day by day.

My Dr. says that I am doing well considering the extensive surgery he had to do.

well I will write more later,

    bye for now

    Francesca

  7. Dave, please post the name and address of the hospital. I can't take knowing my Sweet lil Betty Boop friend is in pain. How are you holding out?

    All my love,

    Lis

Thanks for the good wishes, everybody. I've printed out your comments and I'm going to take them to her as soon as I leave work. I know they will cheer her up.

Lisa, here's the info you requested. And as for your question about me... well, like the old Sam & Dave song says: When something is wrong with my baby, something is wrong with me. :think

    Thanx for asking.

    Trinity Hospital

    410 N Taylor St

She is currently in room 206. She probably wouldn't be up for any calls for at least another day or two...come to think of it, I haven't even seen a phone in that room. But I'll ask the nurse about it tonight.

  8. Banders,

This is Francesca's husband. She has asked me to come on the board and give all of you an update.

She had her band removed on Monday. There was a bad infection, so it's a damn good thing they caught this problem when they did. She isn't doing so well right now. She's been in a lot of pain since Monday, but they've been giving her heavy doses of morphine. So, she's been in one of three states since the operation: #1: Lucid (but literally moaning from the pain), #2: Completely zoned-out on morphine (but with much less pain), or #3: Asleep (knocked-out, really) on the medication.

I just visited her during my lunch hour. She has been getting regular visits from me, the kids, and her friends -- but she probably is only aware about half the time.

I have to cut this short. She just wanted to give you guys an update.

    Take Care,

    Dave

  9. Thank you for the well wishes!!! I am a darn nervous wreck! I will be glad when it is all over...and the healing can begin. Michelle and Sue, I too will be thinking of you both,

and I will ask my husband to post and give everyone a update on me.

Crystal, thanks for forgetting me... lol
