  1. I need help from some long term post sleeve people. I am about 10years out and over the last 2 years have gained back 75lbs. I am still 75lbs down from my high weight, but I am not in a happy place with my weight and eating. I feel like I can eat almost normally now and that is not good. Has anyone gone through this and got their restriction back? What did you do?

    Thanks

  2. I think everyone goes through this in the beginning at some point. Eventually you will be able to eat whatever you want just at a normal volume instead of the excess that used to be had. I went through a time when I was questioning what i did. It was shortly after surgery and i was nauseous and vomiting all the time I couldn't eat anything. We have to find something to replace the food. It meant so much to us before surgery and we dont realize having surgery is going to leave us with a void. Sometimes just taking a bath to relax helped me.

  3. So sorry for all of your losses and personal stress. I agree do much with pp about doing stuff with your granddaughter. I know my 6 year old daughter is such a big motivator if I just tell in the morning we are going to exercise she will bug me all day till we do it! She loves to do any kind of exercise video but especially yoga which could be good to start out with a low impact yoga. Good luck.

  4. We usually get apps as well as an entree so I just eat apps and its enough for me. If there is something I really want on the menu i will order it and eat it for the next 2 days! I have never had the wait staff say anything about it and when i go out it is usually with my 4 kids and husband so it is a big bill anyway so the tip is big.

  5. My hospital has all different levels of preop requirements depending on your insurance and health issues. I had very few tests because I had no health issues and I work for the hospital so insurance only required a meeting with the doctor nutritionist and psych one time. Preop I just had bloodwork chest xray ekg and ultrasound. I also had to do the clorhexidine wash the night before and day of surgery. His few tests could be that his insurance doesn't require it and his doctor doesn't feel it is necessary for him.

I am also surprised at the post op differences between everyone but I think each doctor requires what they think will give their patients the best possible outcome.

  6. If they are an office that only does bariatric surgery them they should be very well versed in the insurance dealings. Bariatric surgery is a medical area that has very specific insurance requirements how does their office not know what they are? I would be furious that their incompetence is holding up your progress when that is their business.

  7. My biggest nsv and one of the reasons that Pushed me over the edge with getting the surgery done was over the summer I was able to ride the rides at cedar point without even worrying if I would fit. Last year I could not buckle some of them and had to get off of one cause it wouldn't buckle. I am also able to walk in the store and buy clothes off the rack! I don't even have to try them on I know they'll fit! I am in a size 14 bottoms that are starting to get a little loose and medium top I did buy a 12 dress that fits perfectly. I'm able to run with my kids and it doesn't hurt me.

I didn't have any comorbidities yet so surgery was really preventative for me. My knees and back feel so much better though.

  8. Loved the dilaudid.

I agree!! I had surgery on Monday was discharged Thursday. When they did my swallow eval on Tuesday I failed so I had to continue npo foley pca pain pump until Wednesday when they did an xray and everything was fine so I was able to start liquids on Wednesday. I started my walking an hour after I came up from recovery and walked every hour I was awake.
