  1. 1st thing 1st thank you all for taking the time to comment. Next I don't eat fried foods as they hurt my stomach, I get my Protein, my Fiber and my good carbohydrates and fats. Where I started to go downward was when I discovered what aspartame (main ingredient in artificial sweetner) which is the waste product of bacteria and it's actually really unhealthy but I exercise regularly and am very active and my weight is coming down perfectly but I get the taste for certain things I know I shouldn't have but I still eat it anyways.

  2. Good evening everyone, I was sleeved on 2/5 and so far I've lost 33 lbs (yay) but for the pasts 2 weeks I've been eating fast food but in very small increments (a quarter to half at most) and then my body rejects it and I throw up :( but I'm finding it hard to get back on the wagon. I walk for a hour a day and my calorie intake is never more than 700 and the calories I burn from my walks are 400 and seeing a low intake is how I rationalize eating unhealthy foods and snacks....anyone else had/having this issue?

  3. Yeeeeessss ma'am! When I reached 2 weeks I had lost 25lbs and now at week 4 (3/5) I will still be the same weight but you have to remember sleeve weight loss isn't as rapid as bypass or the band and YOU yourself have to physically do the work also. I know it seems discouraging but don't worry darlin once you start doing your part it'll melt like butter :) and although your not losing lbs you are still losing inches.

  4. Yes darlin and the scale was wrong lol I had lost 27lbs in 2 and 2 weeks and it appears now that my weight loss is at a stalling point and that's cause I'm no longer on liquids alone. It's hard to be around ppl and their eating and your watching but yes honey when the summer hits I hope to be down to 200-210lbs from 275 in Feb. Much success to you my love :)

  5. Good morning everyone,

I hope this thread is reaching you all in good health. I am 3 weeks post op and my starting weight was 275 on 2/5 (my surgery date) and as of today 2/24 I weigh 230. As I stated I'm only 3 weeks post op and I've been to 2 family events with lots and lots of delicious food! Initially I felt some type of way that they would eat this in front of me but then I realized it's not their fault I am not able to eat but it still bothered me to watch it.

  6. I am 2 weeks post-op and so far I have lost 24lbs (yay) but I noticed that when I go to eat my purees I feel like the food gets stuck and then slowly makes it's way down and that usually make me feel like I'm choking and then I get very gassy. Is this happening to anyone else and if so how do you eleviate these symptoms?

  7. I hate to see things like this because it makes me angry and sad. If your eating 1000 a day sweetheart your still eating half of what normal people (people without gastrectomies) are. It's nothing to beat yourself up about. Remember that we all are different and have different mentalies so therefore we all do things differently. I personally feel as though if someone is only getting 500 cals a day then something is wrong. Much success to darling

  8. Yes Carol it does! I can bare the pain from the incision sites, I can deal with the nausea, I can deal with not being able to eat but the acid reflux I can't! It's the most uncomfortable feeling I've ever experienced and it's at it's worse when I drink water.I went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist told me to take the Pantoprazole in the morning a half hour before Breakfast and use Tums through out the day as needed.

  9. Good morning Richard, I am only 4 days post op not 4 months and before surgery I would eat myself full and be able to sleep completely through the night but now it's like I'm in hell. I actually go to my first post op on Monday so hopefully we'll be able to coke up with a solution. Thanks for your input and well wishes and much success to you also

  10. Good morning, I had my surgery on Tuesday Feb 5th so I am 4 days post op....1st thing 1st your Protein Shakes do count towards your Fluid intake. My Dr and nurse both told me inorder for anyone to prevent dehydrating you'll need at least 32-48 oz a day so if your meeting that your ok. I am experiencing some of the same symptoms as you are and it doesn't matter how much food or liquid I take in within an hour I am deathly hungry. I ate a 4oz applesauce yesterday and woke up 2 hours later starved! I drink my Protein shakes and a hr later I'm famished. I advanced myself to a 4 oz bowl of multi grain cheerios with skim milk plus and a hr later I'm starving all over again.

  11. Good evening everyone, next week Tuesday (might I add its the day after my b-day) I will be having my surgery. I was notified of my date last week Thursday and I said I was gonna start my Protein Shakes as of Sunday that just passed and I have yet to dj it because they taste so horribly horrible but that was before I knew the seriousness of needing my liver to shrink. I guess because I've been battling get the surgery for 3 years and finally decided to do it due to graves disease (hyper thyroid disease), hypertension, Migraines, gerd and most of all an enlarged heart I choose to live but it's not an easy road and I am glad to have found this forum...so if anyone has any suggestions on Protein shakes that aren't so bad I would greatly appreciate it :)
