  1. Thanks Lafaye999, but you can't tell in the picture, but it't there. If I'm out in the sun or in bright light I can see my scalp...that's how bad. Thankfully my hair is course so I'm able to style it where it hides it somewhat. I just pray that the Biotin will take affect sooner than five weeks, otherwise I'm going to be in a real pickle with my hair.

  2. I'm taking 7500 mcg of Biotin, 1 a day, I wonder if I should be doubling that? I talked to a lady at work yesterday who lost 120lbs and she was losing her hair as well and started taking a collagen supplement which took five weeks to see an improvement. I'm hoping after a couple of weeks the Biotin will at least stop so much of the shedding. I'm taking the Bariatric Multivitamins, I hate the taste and their so hard and big...but a dosage for the day is 2 tablets wheras the Centrum chewables I was taking before was one a day, but they weren't working. I may start doubling up on my Vitamins if that will help.

  3. I was banded on Nov. 21, 2012 and went through the same thing you are. I went to my doctor after my second fill frustrated and ticked off. They explained to me that it takes a few fills to get to the green zone, which is where you get full faster and stay full and are losing weight. Talk to you doctor and tell him your frustrations. It will get better, good luck.

  4. Hi everyone, last night I was searching through the feeds and pinterest looking for recipes and someone mentioned eating fish sticks for dinner which prompted me to the Gordon's website to see the nutritional information on the fish sticks. I found this recipe on their website and it sounded so good and is low calorie. I haven't made it yet but I plan too, but I plan to omit the panko breadcrumbs and just use the peanuts. I thought I would share it with you guys.

    THAI GRILLED FISH WRAPS

    Prep Time: 40 minutes

    Cook Time: 20 minutes

    Servings: 4

    Description:

This spicy Thai-inspired recipe will give your guests the freedom to enjoy these wraps anyway they want!

    Directions:

    1. Prepare Gorton's Grilled Tilapia Fillets according to package instructions. Allow to cool and cut each fillet into 3 strips (12 strips total).

    2. In a microwave safe small bowl, combine all Spicy Crunch ingredients except peanuts. Cook in microwave on High for 1 minute.

    3. Stir in peanuts and set Spicy Crunch aside.

    4. In a small bowl, stir together Dipping Sauce ingredients and set aside.

    5. On a large platter, arrange all Wrap Platter ingredients and cooked Gorton's Grilled Tilapia strips. Garnish platter with lime wedges and sweet red peppers.

    6. To assemble a wrap, fill lettuce leaf with desired vegetables. Spoon Dipping Sauce over the vegetables. Top with 2-3 strips of cooked Gorton's Grilled Tilapia and sprinkle with Spicy Crunch.

  5. I've been told from my doctor and NP's that the Vitamins are essential to a banded person. Your food intake greatly decreases and therefore decreases the amount of nutrients your body is taking in. I've been taking vitamins since I started this process in November, and still my hair has been shedding and thinning. My doctor has changed my Multivitamin to the bariatric vitamins and I am not taking Biotin to assist with the Hair loss. For your overall health I would say YES to taking vitamins and supplements.< /p>

  6. To LBT, I eat a high protien diet. I do my Protein Shakes as required by my doctor and I eat my Protein first, I typically don't get but a bite or two of a veggie. I would typically do my Protein Shake for Breakfast, so now my doctor wants me to eat 1 soft scrambled egg in the morning as well to try and sustain me longer...the liquid Proteins do not sustain you as the solid's do. Everyone's body is different and responds differently.

  7. Hi, I have had the same frustrations and have voiced them to my doctor. I understand exactly what you're going through. After each adjustment I feel the effects of it for about a week, then I tend to get hungry sooner, and can eat more than I could before. My doctor say's with mine it's because I have a larger band and they are having me come in every two weeks for another adjustment. I'm still trying to get to the "green zone" as they call it...I'm there for a week and then it's back to the "yellow zone". I've been reassured at my adjustments that this is normal in the beginning until they get me to the green zone stage. I'm trying to remain hopeful. Good luck.

  8. Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and wanted to drop in and say hello and introduce myself. I'm Shelia and I was banded on November 21, 2012 by Dr. Kenneth Hollis in Houston Texas. So far I've lost 43lbs. I'm still trying to adjust to the changes that come with lapband. I joined the site in hopes to learn from others through their experience, and hope I can help others in turn through my experience.
