    What my husbands see?

Same thing here! My boyfriend saw nothing wrong with my weight. He was not very supportive when I was still in the deciding stage but once I made up my mind, I clearly told him what I needed from him( to be positive, and that when I am whining about being sore or hungry, I needed him to say "Keep going-- you're almost there! And not "why the hell did you do this to yourself and I told you so!") Spelling it out for him helped AND he has lost 40lbs since the end of November. He says he wants to be in shape too! I am sure that your husband loves you, the person. Men sometimes have fears that their wife/GF will suddenly change and start to wander once they lose weight. Pay mucho attention to him so he knows that you are still attracted to him and keep getting healthy!!
  2. I just sold five Silpada rings on EBay! Lol! I'm thinking I will need all new ones by May!
  3. As a newly banded person, I can relate. I didn't have a pre-op diet but was on only liquids for three weeks after. I was overly focused on food for the first three or four days. I made lists of what I was going to eat as soon as I could eat again. I pored over recipes and everything on television made me hungry.... It went away, that craving for food. Soon my body wasn't hungry and my mind was more focused on the weight I was losing. That scale is a huge reinforcer! Now that I can eat again, I have no desire for most things on my list. I can't wait to eat a salad, but BBQ wings and French fries and mashed potatoes and such don't turn me on. Hang in there and focus hard on your goals. Be proud of how far you have come and remember that this is temporary. In a few months, you will be able to eat( taste?) just about anything. Your body will change, your appetite will change, and your mind set will change as well.

    Rude awakening

When I was on liquids only, I struggled to get above 600 calories a day. Now I'm on purée and I'm between 900-1000. I'm thinking 1500, while not a ton for regular folks, is quite a bit for a newly banded person. That is probably the reason for slower weight loss. Try cutting it to 1000-1200 and see how you feel, maybe? I was banded on 2/19, and I have no fill on board either. When I'm hungry, I sip on my protein shake and it holds me. I think I probably COULD eat just about anything and a lot of it if I let myself--- the key is in limiting. I keep telling myself that I didn't go through this surgery just to eat poorly all over again. Also, I use "My Fitness Pal" faithfully so I know exactly what I'm eating. Good Luck!

    Weird question:0

I have the opposite reaction: I brush my teeth more now. I just started on puréed food and I can't stand to feel food remnants in my mouth.
  6. I just bought some gas-ex strips--- and no more beans at work!! LOL
  7. I graduated from three weeks of liquid only to puréed food on Monday. I notice that every time I eat a few ounces of food, my stomach makes all of these odd and scary noises and I have to unbutton my pants( even my big pants!) Is this normal? Does it end? Is there anything I can do? Thanks in advance!
  8. I feel so silly! I have been eating grilled chicken with black BEANS and pico de gallo, puréed of course. Duh! It's the BEANS!! Lol
  9. Uh oh! I had thyroid cancer in my 20's and had to have my thyroid removed. I suffer from temperature intolerance( my body can not adjust its own temperature, so I overheat in summer and literally freeze in winter ) It JUST dawned on me that this weight loss may bring at least one downside. Does anything help you guys?

    Tomorrow i go...

27lbs is AWESOME!! Wow! And once you start kick boxing it can only get better!
  11. I just noticed your profile picture! Holy crap!! Your bones aren't big at all!! Lol! I joke about my size 11 feet and man hands all the time. Maybe they will shrink too!! I have a question: what about the boobs? Mine are quickly making their way toward my knees. Just the 20lb loss has caused them to surrender to the gravitational force and I'm afraid I might trip over them soon. Any tips?
  12. I see it in my own face! My son told me that I look young. The next day I asked him if I still look young and he said "no." So I pulled my hair back and asked "how about with my hair pulled back like yesterday?" "No Mom" he said "Focus on the distance factor, you look young from far away!" Kids! Lolol
  13. Wow! You're doing great! I started at 263 and my scale told me this morning that I am now 239. I was waiting to see that 3!! Next goal is the 220's. I just thought 20lbs would be obvious--- guess ill work for 50+. I'm what you'd call "big boned" so my doctors goal for me is 145-165, my goal for myself is anything under 200!!!
  14. Thanks guys! In my mind, 20lbs is a lot of weight( because I've never lost more than 10lbs-- EVER! ) I gain weight all over so I guess it stands to reason that I'm losing it that way as well. And for the record, I think one pinky finger and both big toes are smaller! Lol!)

    Protein Shake Recommendations?

I use EAS 100% Whey Protein powder and mix it with unsweetened almond coconut milk. I add flavor from sf jello pudding powder and grind fresh nutmeg in. Delish!
  17. Hi! Tomorrow I graduate to purée and I'm so excited! I bought black beans, chick peas, fat free cheddar, salsa, guacamole, bruschetta and grilled chicken. I also bought gravy and fat free Alfredo sauce( thinking it will help with pureeing.) Does anyone have more suggestions? Are sweet potatoes considered a starch?( that's what I'm craving! And stuffing!) Thanks in advance!
  18. My instructions say no starches for 6 weeks, so I may have to wait a bit longer!
  19. Are you taking Multivitamins? They leave an Iron taste in my mouth and it lasts forever! If so, try drinking Water with lots of lemon or lime. Even unsweetened iced tea with lemon will help.
  20. Hi! I'll be three weeks out this Tuesday and I'm still on liquids( tomorrow is graduation to purée, yay!) I find that I must always have a Protein drink within reach or I get SO hungry! I found that drinking hot tea helps move gas and decreases bloating. I feel no restriction and have not since I woke up. I'm looking forward to a fill because there are times that I am so hungry it's painful. The best thing I can tell the very newly banded is that it gets easier! The first few days I was obsessing over food. Now it comes and goes. The foods I crave are healthy instead of cheeseburgers and buffalo wings!
  21. I'm supposed to be on liquids until Monday BUT today, for the first time, I cheated. My son was begging for Panera and I figured I'd get soup and have the broth. Good plan, right? Well somehow I also got half portion of a chicken salad and ate about 6-7 bites of it!! BAD!! I had no problem with the food but I feel REALLY guilty and I feel like calling my surgeon and confessing everything! Lol More concerning though, is my fear that my strong willpower is fading....
