  1. Yes, I'm a snacker, and not always a healthy one either. The last ones are not the best bandster choices... Peeled, cut-up fruits~raw vegetable w/ or w/out dips~tuna salad w/couple crackers~frosted shredded wheat mini squares (also good fiber source)~cheese cubes~no sugar-added chocolate pudding~weight watchers chocolate cake w/icing~2 or 3 peanut/butter crackers
  2. It is so important that you let your tummy heal before you start running foods through. Please follow your surgeon's post-op rules. I found low-sodium V-8 juice helpful.
  3. Congratulations on becoming a Bandster and on the great weightloss! Each day really does get better and better.
  4. That's wonderful! Now that insurance company needs to get in gear.
  5. Thank you, Mr. Alex, for a wonderful site! The people on here have become my "banded family". We share much more than just "band support" with each other. I hope it will be here for many years to come!
  6. You might want to rent and watch the movie, Shallow Hal with Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black. It's a comedy, but it also shows some insight to our perceptions of others.
  7. Hi TMarie, welcome to LBT. Congratulations on the weightloss! Hope to get to know you better here. --From another Marie, whose birthday is also in April.
  8. Various tests that your dr. has ordered, and possibly picking your brain, and talking w/a nutritionist. No big deal, just part of the work-up to regain your life!
  9. Blossom, cool NSV! I bet you'll be the first bandster to get whistled at! I've seen how pretty you are! Michelle, what kind of foods do you prepare in your restaurant? chicken fried steak is my sons' very favorite w/homemade mashed potatoes and cream gravy, and fried okra. Boy, that sounds like a perfect bandster meal, doesn't it? NOT!
  10. What are some of the foods that you are eating?
  11. That's wonderful! Hope her recovery goes as well.
  12. Please try logging your foods on www.fitday.com for a week or so. This will help show you what types and how much of foods you're eating. Are you drinking lots of water through out the day, but not w/meals or 1 hour afterwards? Are you eating proteins first, then veggies, quiting after 20 minutes? There's a lot of headwork to do for our tool (the band) to work. Best of luck to you!
  13. Hi, Larae, that's so neat that you and your husband are "Band Buddies". Look forward to "talking" w/you here!

Welcome and what an amazing job you've done!
  15. Brenda, so glad you're getting this fixed and your insurance covers it. Please post an update when you feel like it. (((Hugs)))
  16. Dwayne, how long ago did you have your band surgery and how are you feeling now?
  17. But, Crystal, you can use all that worldly knowledge you've obtained since your youth! You'll do great! (((Hugs)))
  18. I believe he said punctured his colon and lacerated his liver. I had a fatty liver (which seems pretty common w/obese people). My surgeon had me on a low glycemic food plan before banding to help reduce the size of the liver. There is a thread on here listing those foods.
  19. We do have some bandsters your age, but I guess they've all gone to bed early. LOL It's been a little while since I've seen 25 and I'm a long way from Canada, but I wanted to welcome you. Look forward to "talking" w/you here on LBT.

Welcome, Brenda! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? How much weight would you like to lose? Look forward to "talking" w/you here on LBT.
  21. Dwayne, I am so sorry that you've been through so much! Physically, how are you feeling now?
  22. Certainly not an expert, but a stomach virus might also give you major stomach cramps, diarrhea, and/or possible fever. I've never heard of it giving you sliming or hiccups. That sounds like you might be too tight. I had a fill that was too much, just removing 0.2cc made all the difference in the world. Take care and don't get caught over the weekend w/o care available. Most ERs are not familiar w/the lapband. Please let us know what you decide to do. Hope you get better.
  23. Kid Rock doing anything!
  24. And you go right past me so I'll be waiting. Sounds like you better come in a bus. The Harley won't hold all of us! Paula, get to cooking, girl!
  25. I'm trying to get up my nerve and also find a camera with a good safety/wide-angle lens. And, if I looked as good as you do in your leathers, I'd be posting my picture everywhere! 16 x 20 glossies all over the place.
