I'm going to bed.
Mom & Dad were watching tv when Mom said, "I'm tired, & it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed." She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches. Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the Cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons & bowls on the table, & started the coffee pot for brewing the next a.m. She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt & secured a loose button. She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger, & put the telephone book into the drawer. She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket, & hung up a towel to dry. She yawned & stretched & headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk & wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, & pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair. She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed & stamped the envelope, & wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse. Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed & flossed her teeth, & filed her nails. Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed." "I'm on my way," she said. She put some Water into the dog's dish & put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked & the patio light was on. she looked in on each of the kids & turned out their bedside lamps & tvs, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, & had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. In her own room, she set the alarm, laid out clothing for the next day, & straightened up the shoe rack. She added 3 things to her "6 most important things" to do list. She said her prayers, & visualized the accomplishment of her goals. About that time, Dad turned off the tv & announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed." And he did...without another thought. Wonder why women live longer? CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL....(and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!)

Sheeanisland, so "You felt her pain"! I remember dreaming about being scared to get married. But when I woke up, I realized I was already married.

just wondering....
Unfortunately, we have many of those kind of drs. in the US. I've always referred to it as the "God syndrome". You'd think they'd figure out that an informed patient is going to be a happier, healthier, and better patient - in any health circumstance!

Doctor's Office Finally Called
I think Leatha has a good idea. If they could fax you a list of the preop tests needed, you could get a jump on those. All that stuff gets bogged down in time. Time to schedule initial appts, set up tests, wait for test results, etc. Then, you'll have that stuff ready to give him and be that far ahead in the game. Just be sure that you keep copies of all tests, in case you don't like him and decide to go to another Lap. dr. Do you have any current health problems?

Nancy, that's a shame. But it sounds like the problem is her low self-esteem, not anything that you have done. Perhaps your weight loss and repackaged exterior are threatening to her. I'm glad that you were able to talk with her and be honest with each other. You both have chosen different life paths. I was a stay-at-home mom after working 8 years straight. I loved it and felt honored to be able to. Some people just aren't cut out to stay home. Perhaps she should consider a part-time job. You have done such an amazing job with your weightloss. I, personally, am very, very happy for you! I hope all works out for the best for you!

Dizziness or Blurred Vision
Yes, please follow YOUR Dr. orders. They all seem to be different. But I'm sure that he has a very good reason for you to do this. How long to have to continue the shots? Do you have someone that can give them to you, instead of doing it yourself? That might be easier for you.
