  1. Congrat on the weight loss! Find out which arthritis you have. Osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis? I get copies of of my xrays so I can remember (fibro fog) what's going on with my body and do research for treatments and tests needed so I am ready when I go to the doctors. Hopefully there's not a lot of damage done to your knee and with continued weight loss the pain should get better. Ultram is a prescription pain pill that won't hurt your pouch. Let me know if I can help with anything. Knowlege is power. Missy
  2. I know this is supposed to be a positive board. I just need to know if there is anyone else out there with fibro or rheumatoid arthritis. I recently found out I have arthritis in my knees and degenerative joint disease in my back. The weight loss surgery will hopefully postpone knee replacements and take weight off my back but I am only 44 3/4 years old. I take nsaids for pain and steroids for flare ups. 3 more months of weigh in then I can submit for a surgery date. I'm going RNY all the way! Going to a pain doctor to get off of nsaids. Ok pitty party over. Anyone in my boat?
  3. This womans journey from start to after the baby. Her husband was a major douche bag. The part that hit home for me was her second plastic surgery where she didn't eat her protein or drink water and was in the hospital for 3 months. What an inspiration.
  4. Agreed they are annoying. Ouch you caught it on the chair (crosses my legs with empathy ) I am ok with them. 3 c-sections = pro.
  5. I was watching this movie called melissa story. Her starting wait was 600# and the trial and tribulations of weight loss surgery!
  6. I wantd to know what the best tasting sugar subsitute anyone has found!
  7. I have crystal lite packages but I wanted to see what else I liked to change things up a bit.
  8. I am pre-op tasting and trying new things. I OH we have a store called Krogers. I found a non-carbonated water called hint. No sugars, artificial flavorsM or sweetners. The one I got was blackberry. Kinda pricy at 1.49 each. Its water with a hint of blackberry. They had other flavors.
  9. Oh I am so sorry that you are getting the run around. You are right only you know your body. Do you still have a fever, vomiting or constipated? Stand your ground girl!
  10. Hi! I am pre-op as well and wanted the sleeve due to my rheumatoid arthritis meds. Dr. Brown in Kettering OH said with my age (44) I was young and the RNY would be my best long term option. He said with the sleeve it goes down or back up with horrible reflux. If you read through the forums A LOT of people are having an additional surgery to change to the RNY from the sleeve or band to the RNY. Hope this helps. Missy
  11. I haven't had surgery and ALWAYS call the surgeons office FIRST. As a nurse and having c-sections that you don't want to lift or do too much too soon. It can cause adhesions like goo inside a pumpkin all stringy is the best way to describe them. So 1) follow doctors orders on lifting 2) listen to your body You took the time and energy to have this done so let your body heal.
  12. Its so better to be safe than sorry!
  13. Let us know how you are. Prayers already sent!
  14. I am still pre-op trying to steer my diet. My question is this: 1) to advoid dumping and/ or lose weight should sugars on EVERYTHING be below 9 (?) Thanks for input!
  15. Drainage green or weird brown with an oder or a incision that's opened needs to be called to the doctors office.
  16. How much fluid came out? A thimbull (spelling), or like a teaspoon? Where on your body was the scab? Did the fluid smell? Do u have a fever? P.S. I'm a nurse lol
  17. My doctor has a JP drain for 7 days post-op. Its to check for leaks and help drain any fluids in the abdominal cavity. Just breath and remeber its all part of the process and a road to a healthier you. Missy
  18. I didn't realize how fat I was. 4 more months then I hope for a new attitude and body.
